  • everyone is retarded.....it's about a child.......

  • @iceplant007 Ahahahahaha I understood that too!!

  • does it even matter if hes gay?

voxtrot is 100 times better than you are. so no, i dont believe it does.

  • Before I looked it up, I always saw the song as a song to a dead son. Which is killer sad.

In reality, Ramesh wrote the song about leaving Glasgow and school to rejoin the real world.

  • I heard them play live when I was six and I wish I could see them again now that I know who they are :)

  • puke

  • don't know what the song is about, but I love the sound of it!

  • he s got such a nice voice. so playful, so honest. <3

  • this song makes me really sad.... i dont know why. its not really sad but i feel depressed and like crying.

  • lol it's his buddy steven that he lost, i think we all lost a friend before, but its' the worst whenu see him go, and theres nothing to do. I missed u.

  • I am addicted to this song

  • this makes me feel weird

    my name is steven XD

  • anyone got the lyrics?

  • Idk but i dedicated this song to me friend Steven & he got mad! haha!

  • I thought he was talking about his son , from the perspective of a father who left him.

  • Yeah a lotta people are wondering what this song is supposed to mean. I think it's more fun to have your own interpretation, that's what makes music like this cool.

love the band! that singer has a fantastic voice!

  • i love love love this song

  • they kinda remind me of a modern day beatles. idk but i love em!

  • yeeeeeeeeesssssss!!!!!!!! only, the arent as popular, which is good i guess

  • Yeah, this song def reminds me of the beatles.. First time I heard it I thought it was.

  • i like this song, reminds me of the 70's somehow

  • i cant stop but come back to this video such warm lyrics and underated band

  • Voxtrot is AMAZING!!!!

  • ...dood.

    =[

I met this guy yesterday...Steven, amazing guy with a boyfriend...one glance at him, and I knew my life would never be the same...I'm going back home tomorrow...and he just left the couch he was sitting on next to me...

...it was nice meeting him, and quite possibly... ...I might never see him again...

    *sigh*

    ...Steven I Miss You.

    -Rene

  • very good band!

  • me steven me steven i go to deer park

  • lovee this but who exactly is steven?

  • steven's the embodiment of his experience in glasgow. i think.

  • Voxtrot come really close to great songs but they're just lacking something, that extra bit.

  • Nope not really

  • voxtrot loves my name : )

  • i love the trots! hope they're working on new material. last i heard was that ramesh relocated to berlin in jan '08 and dj'd in ny last month. i guess he's back? he doesn't update his blog anymore:( he's a very beautiful and insightful writer.

  • Would you mind linking me to the blog? =]

  • Love this!

  • I LOVE this song soooo much! It's so great!

  • i cannot believe that such a fantastic song only has fifty six thousand views.

    what a shame!

  • bull poopie my friend.

    voxtrot is completely original.

    never heard anything like em.

not to mention their lyrics are wonderful.

you should really do some more listening before you give your opinion.

  • catchy tune....but it sounds so much like other bands that it comes of as unoriginal

  • Makes me think Beatles/Panic at the Disco..

  • i read the news today.......

  • you think the beatles and panic at the disco is the same thing...dude you suck just like panic at the disco!

  • i dont like panic either that was a beatles lyric so i dont know why your saying i suck....

  • o_O Who the hell thinks they're the same thing? What are you talking about...

  • Reminds me more of Belle and Sebastian.

  • Reminded me of Okkervil River and Belle and Sebastian--i like it.

  • @syncronized00 I notice how you left out the ! in Panic's name. I love Panic! at the disco, but yet I hate Panic at the disco. two completely different bands in my opinion.

  • awesome.

  • i dunno to me it sounds like hes singing from the perspective of a girl.............thats just my take on it i have no idea what its actually about, fucking fantastic though!

  • great song, i love it! :)

  • This song is good and the band is great, but I have a question (Not saying it would change my like of the band) Is the singer gay? Just wondering.

  • why cus the song is about steven?

  • In the band's documentary, Reaching for the Lasers, they said this song was about Ramesh's time spent in Glasgow for school. It references his studies and his interest in electronic music and dancing ('But I miss reaching for the lasers...classes, school behavior. Sweating the night out of the sky...')

  • Some how they remind me of The Beatles... O.o

  • The Bassist uses a Höfner Violin Bass. That may be why it reminds you of the beatles.

  • i thought it was the sideburns

  • I read in a article that they said most of thier lyrics are based off of novels that he reads and less is based on real life. still a cool band.

  • Who gives a crap if they're gay? Their music is great, and it's not like all their songs have homosexual themes, so people like you shouldn't worry.

  • I really don't think this is about a gay love. I got the impression that he was talking about an old best friend who taught him how to have fun and party and etcetera, and now that he's fallen into a regular life again he misses Steven.

  • @AlsknPride

Who cares if it is though lol

  • I fell in love with a guy named steven all he did was play with my heart but I will never forget him.

  • Ramesh IS gay. I know. Mitch is my stepsisters boyfriend, I have met all of the band. And, Ramesh's little stage dance makes it pretty obvious.

  • He might be gaaayy. Oh, wait, I'm sorry, does that scare some of you? It's probably about his kidlet. Who CARES? It's a good song.

  • I'm pretty sure he's talking about his son listen to the first couple lines:

    -----

Stephen, I love you, I can't grow past you,

I'm, homesick in spite of the place

that I fostered and styled to raise this child

who keeps me in pitch and in pace

    ------

  • Why are you all assuming that he is writing from a girl's perspective? It seems very probably that he could be gay, especially looking at lyrics from other songs. Maybe he's not, but he very well may be.

  • I hope he's gay ;)

  • I always thought that he was singing about his son or something. That's always how it sounded to me. Especially the last part: "Steven I love you. I can't grow past you. I have nothing left to give to you." And the nine months later part. Both make it sound like he's singing about a kid.

  • yea that actually makes sense

  • STEVEN LOVE JOAN FOREVER!!!

  • sounds like the zombies album oracle and oddyssey. very good.

  • I know the drummer of this band. You have come a long way since the snare drum, Matt.

  • i saw them in philadelphia and i met ramesh. he signed my ticket.

  • u lucky bastard :P

  • hahahahahahahhhahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha

  • Is this song about his boyfriend....is he gay??

  • NOOOO LOL HE ISNT lol its just like the band the blow the lead singer is a girl and she sand something about a girl too and she isnt a lazbo and so isnt the lead singer in voxtrot he aint gay lol

  • no hes singing as if he was a girl. ahah i thought the same at first

  • awesome vid.

  • this is a great song, it has a great feel to it.

  • This a Great Band! Reminds me of my own school days in the early 80s when the Monochrome Set ruled! Kids these days are so much better!

  • this is amazing, this song is great- a bit beatlesque, but better and more normal.

  • Better than The Beatles? I couldn't disagree more but I like the tune.

  • haha, sorry. i meant more like the clothing and it was more era appropriate. ah, i don't know what i meant- no they're not better than the beatles.

  • I LOVE THE BEATLES AND VOXTROT LOL

  • woah, this song is really really great. luv it!!!

  • Agreed, I just can't get enough of the first five seconds of this song... :)
