  • in 3 seconds i would be under my bend.. and all she sayd is.. it's a footage... SRSLY !?!

  • one heck of a storm

  • that rain will fill your pool up in no time if it needs water lol

  • microburst

  • Man, that's pretty severe weather.

  • OMG, You are fearless! Are you some kind of adrenaline junkie?

  • I think at 1:00 I'd be getting inside. Btw, what do you mean by "Zak is 2"?

  • rofl wtf win

  • what an incredible world we live in

  • reminds me of that time a wall of rain came down my street.

  • Faggot

  • The rain is real but the lightning haha totally fake first of all if it was near ur foot the thunder would have been right after the lightning

  • it was

  • @qxp20 Have you ever thought that it was a positive streamer, dipshit.

  • i dont want to sound disturbing but that aint a tornado i see in the first few seconds?

  • It was basically a 'wall' of rain coming down. I had never seen anything like it before. Thanks for the comment!

  • @GraphicNizor yea the rain is just so heavy it looks almost like the cloud is touching the ground. if it was a tornado it wouldnt be good lol

  • dude you guys are dumb asses thats real lightning its not the larger part of it but its a branch of the lightning bolt it just didnt hit the ground

  • A two year old shot that? WOW! Amazing job Zak!

  • Haha! Thanks for the comment cag3171a!

  • wowow thats kinda coool

haha i would pee my pants=]

  • amazing! but that lightning strike is not near your feet. if it were the boom would break the camera's microphone. . sound like it's kinda close though! nothing cooler than footage of nature!

  • very nice footage, that kind of lightning strike so close is probably one of the most awesome things you can witness in life...

  • at 1:19 in the corner... what is that organge thing?

  • An overhead light. A few seconds later, you can tell because it illuminates part of the rainfall.

  • @thelime95 It's an outdoor light, as you can see the light reflecting off of the rain when the camera pans further to the left.

  • @thelime95 that would be light on the ground, and light in the rain. ever heard of a flood light? spotlight? garage light? deck light? that's what that is.

  • @thelime95 if you watch just a little bit afterwards its a floodlight. doesnt take a rocket scientist to see the rains illuminated next to the roof man

  • holy crap!!!

you have some insane guts to do that! bravo!

  • Plus, she's too cool to put up fake stuff

  • You're damn right its not a fake. All you guys are just mad because you're too busy sitting at the computer researching goofy ass stuff to disprove this lady to get out there and get some real footage yourself.

  • and kill myself? NO THANK YOU SIR!

  • OMG I think i would've peed in my pants! lol! wow

  • It's not a fake, but the lightning strike is probably within 100 yards or so, what you are seeing is probably a leader, not the actualy bolt of lightning. If it was the actual bolt, in the garage or not you would be toast if it was at your feet.

  • Interesting! A leader? Well, that would make sense I guess. Thank you for taking the time to comment. But, I'm still curious, what are people getting struck with, the lightning, or is it a leader? I know survivors through my work. Thanks again.

  • @Jajaswabmom lightning - leaders are a 1 way charge up trying to reach the decending charge, so leaders aren't full currents - but it would be loud...

  • @Jajaswabmom The strike, mostly over head and VERY CLOSE! , is so bright that some of the light enter the lens from above, just out of visual, and is reflected back into the camera by the surface of the lens.

What you see in the foreground expressed in the lower part of the frame is likely lens refraction.

But by the light-sound timing the bolt came within a few hundred feet of the camera/ operator! Yikes!

  • Yes People get stuck by leaders . People (like me) also get hit by being in a dissipation. Lightening hits the ground close by. The voltage is so high that just the difference from left foot to right foot or nearby fence or bush, is several thousand volts. That's enough to knock someone on their ass!. Also if you are close enough to a strong bolt, voltage potentials called eddy currents can be generated in skin, bones or body, causing burns. You don't have to get struck to get struck!

  • @Jajaswabmom most of the time lightning will not strike a human. they pretty much have a designated spot its gonna hit determined by the static electricity in the air. that determines the path of the main bolt. the leaders tend to follow what the main bolt and the thunder displace. i hope that answered your question. yes people do get struck by the leader but very rarely do they survive.

  • @REAPER0D derp i mean stringers haha the leader is the main bolt stringers are the sides

  • @SoprisBDA

It´s not exactly right :-) When the stepped leader comes near to the ground, at about 50 Meters, one ore more positive streamers starts from different points and grow up to the stepped leader. The first one, who reach the stepped leader, will connect.

What You see in the video, is probably a positive streamer, which hasn´t connect.

  • Thanks for the comments. . . maybe it would help to know that I was standing next to my husband in our garage when this occured, so my body was protected. The camera was slightly zoomed, so maybe it appears closer than the 12 feet or so I was from the flash.

A previous poster mentioned "ghosting", maybe that's what this is. But if you look at my other videos, its obvious I don't have the knowledge to make this up. What you see is "what is" with me! Thanks everybody!

  • ahh one more piece of evidence, when you see the flash of the strike, the entire sky lights up... this person just adde that on movie maker :P

  • If you watch the Jon Wilson #84 video, that's the extent of my editing capabilities! I wanted to put one of those little arrows over Jon, my son, but I don't know how! I see it in other FB videos, but honestly, I wish I knew! Thanks for the comments worldslayer!

  • ok first, if that was real, you would not have the strength to keep rolling the video, and would be too much in shock to do so. second, that 'strike' is like a thread thick. real lightning strikes are at least 6 inches in diameter, if not much bigger. and third, there would be a flash...not just the lightning. plus, there was like a secon delay between the stirke and the sounds. i think i have made my case. thank you :)

  • Sorry I know other's have already indicated it being fake, and it is, as the focus point of lightning is 10x the temperature of the surface of the sun. The lightning bolt itself is about 3x hotter. So you'd probably be a fish stick if it were real.

  • Its real. Not true about becoming a fish stick, there are people who have been struck by lightning and survived. BTW, its real. I'm an old mom and wouldn't have a clue how to make something fake. Peace.

  • Fair enough, but I'd need more proof on the actual strike, maybe a picture of where it hit, and if it did hit there, you must be deaf, or have considerable ear damage, and would have moderate burns. And yes I know people have been hit and survived, I know a few.

  • great cg close strike!

But thats just ghosting footage from the over brightness and discharge made by the lightning on the camera

    5/5 still!

  • oh shit! freakin close

  • that was freakin close!

  • omg

  • umm wow... thats a little close i think...

  • At :59 seconds there is a lightning strike VERY close! Watch near the bottom right of the video, on the cement.

Ran this through Movie Maker. Sorry about the Zak is 2! title, leftover from another video.
