i like mixing my line with line infantry and superior line infantry to get a good combination of platoon and rank firing. my prussian army only has 2 light infantry units but 6 heavy cav units. i think for multiplayer, light cavalry is highly ineffective

@Subutai775 I'd actually disagree. The speed and high charge bonus allow you to out maneuver and outflank. Plus, the heavy cav gets tired way too quickly and the light seems to do a better job recovering. Just my 2 cents

@Datsyukfan123 i find that the heavy cavalry are needed to overwhelm the enemy's flanks to begin with. im 16 for 24 games. I may not be the best player but i think my strategy works pretty well. but there's so many elements to a battle, and my success might just be due to superior line infantry tactics.

@Subutai775 Ive never actually played against a human opponent in the game, but Ive logged in over 500 hours in the campaigns. Anyway, the charge of light Hussars (Prussia's light calvary) Hold as much charge bonus as a heavy calvalry does. However, the lights tire far less quickly but must be removed to recharge a line in order to make up for thier low defense. However, your strategy is valid for an initial line charge prior to a line infantry assault, so I cant deny you know your stuff.

Jup Prussia is great, you don't need a fleet, so you have enough money to build up the by far strongest land army in europe..

I was in war with France, Spain, Sweden, Russia and Osman. Empire and still had comparable land forces than them all Ô.o

how do you make your units march in a straight line? whenever i make multiple units march forward they either bunch up to where i selected instead of keep in formation or scramble in random directions. i have to individually select each unit to where i want them and the formation usually becomes disorganized. what the hell is wrong? ive never had a problem like that not even in medieval 1

Just a pointer for history buffs, "hussar" (huh-sser or huh-sher) was origionally a Hungarian term for the European Highwaymen. Militaries all over Europe bagan using the term for light cavaly, actually modedled after the Hungarian Light Cavaly of the same name.

Fitting seeing as there is Hungarian Hussars in this battle.

In my opinion a TW-game about WWII is possible. Not all companies had MGs (maybe later in that war). Like the germans who used 98K-Carabiners - or have a look at the Americans (M1 "Garand").

A world war 2 TW wouldnt look like any of the total war games. It would end up like a large scale 'codename panzers'

A ww1 TW might be possible. You would need a decent computer to run it though with all the explosions. The battles would need to be in the thousands because people die quicker

WWII would be possible. Increased campaign speed would be necessary, however. Something like one turn being equal to a month or maybe a week would work.

WWI would be simple. Even with massive armies, most engagements of WWI were actually fairly small and only ranged along a certain section of trenches. In the Eastern Front, however, Russian and German armies engaged in massive firefights. I think all the politics and diplomacy would be the only difficult part in making those two.
