  • Another sad day in the history of Portsmouth. Tearing down Portsmouth High School. My grandmother was in the first graduating classes. My parents, uncle and siblings passed through the halls. Good bye, PHS.

  • Why did they stop at PHS? They should have continued down Gallia St to Chillicothe St then to the river. I'm glad I left in 1979 and went to Birmingham. I think the whole town is a bunch of losers. The only thing good out of Portsmouth was Roy Rogers but he was really from Duck Run near Lucasville. I lived on Carey's Run too and its nothing but a drug haven. Junk cars and drugs.

  • Joh

  • LOLO I left in 1981 and never looked back! I have to go there to visit my mother in a few weeks and I'm dreading it. The town really sucks, I hate that I from there, it is sad that a town with two rivers and such beautiful land could manage to fail. They are so behind the times there is no hope left for them.

  • Portsmouth, ohio has been torn down. The corruption & city & county elected crooks have stolen everything from the citizens. I don't know how long the citizens can watch this! The Portsmouth FBI 'right in the city, will do NOTHING to stop the corruption against the citizens. That is a fact!

  • but, oh ,that jeff cowen.

  • are you kidding me they RIped up a 100 year old structure?

why did you not protest or something, that is how it is . with people O the building is old there fore it must be destroyed and replaced with a lot that will be loaded with weeds in a month and nothing done with it for years. or it is replaced by some low rise ugly cement building with no ornamental value what so ever.

At least you dont have people trying to do what they do to catholic churches

  • I was in the 100th graduating class at PHS. To bad they didn't use the building for something else. I graduated in 1968, so that building had a lot of history.

  • damn , I would cry if they did that to my out school.

  • That's sad!!!! My girls even went there.

  • I have so many fond memories of this school....well, maybe one fond memory possibly two if I think real hard.

    Adios, old school.

  • PHS could have been used for a lot of things ,for one a homeless shelter.Theres not much left of our past
