I respect your opinion and as a fellow singer and artist I love your work! I've just been re-introducing myself to Vivian Green's "Vivian" album which was released in 2005. At first I dismissed it because I was a little upset with her for "going ho" LOL, but it really is a great underrated album! Don't know if you have it or have listened to it but I'd like your feedback, I've been playing the hell out of it on my MP3 player!

Jordin is just someone I love because she has a great spirit as well as a voice that isn't just cookie cutter! She sounds like JORDIN and not like a copy! I appreciate that but mostly, her spirit is just so beautiful and genuine!

You are so right about Viv's album being more diverse, it spoke to me personally because of what I went through in a relationship so lyrically I was floored at how on point it was, and I agree her vocals are on point without any electronic crap! Jordin is unique and her own person which I can appreciate, I honestly don't like her voice, there are some singers whose voices just bother me when I hear them, she and Tamia are two who come to mind, LMAO.

Concerning Vivian: I totally understand that an album can speak to you lyrically!

Now that you have mentioned Tamia, another great vocalist IMO, I now see what probably bothers you! Vivian has a warmer, rich color to her voice. Both Jordin and Tamia have voices that cut and resonate in a way that is very forward in the nasal cavity and bright! This is my educated guess as to why certain vocalists bother you!

You hit the nail on the head, EA. Now that I've been out of college for awhile I guess my description of "screechy" or "whiny" would mean the same thing...LMAO. Tamia ruined one of my favorite songs of all time, "You put a move on my heart" because that song IMO is OWNED by Mica Paris! Mica's new album, "Born Again" is absolutely stunning, btw. You can only get it on import but check it out if you can. Cost me $25 but worth every penny!

I really like both versions! In my humble opinion, neither one of them have sung that song the way I think it should be sung! I can hear Anita Baker tear that song up or even Regina Bell! Tamia's version is cleaner and fresh to me which I like but Mica's is more earthy and sultry and I like that too! Tamia was 19? when she sang this and has grown vocally! Listen to her again. I just love good singing and interesting voices! I don't have one type of voice or color that intrigues me!

When I first heard the chorus to the song...I thought it sounded a LOT like the song "Our God Is An Awesome God". The way you sang it...i don't even notice any similarity to that song.
