There were 3 the Tornadoes that traveled for 39.5 miles starting in Westfield and continuing into Charlton. I believe there were 19 communities that were in the path of this storm.
it took him almost 2 hrs to get home...every road he tried was blocked with debris...finally found a road thru E. Brookfield and then onto 84 into CT...where the sun was shining ...we have friends in Toland who were outside at a Lacrosse game, not a clue as to what had just come through the area!
Last night I studied this video frame by frame. Our car drives by you at 12 seconds into video going North not knowing what monster was behind us. Wish I could get a still picture of this. Unbelievable. I hope to never experience this again. For all who have helped our town, a sincere thank you!!!
@dkbmtb413 I was in Springfield when it hit... I took a nice video as well, check it out on my page. I sell security systems for homes/businesses and in your video at 1:00 you pass the Monson BP gas station. I had their security system installed at noon on June 1st.. I talked to the owner and thank God the tornado missed him! CRAZY!
I was in Windsor CT when this happened and wanted to leave work SO BAD to go chase it. I saw the supercells on radar at like 4 PM coming in from NY and knew it was going to be bad. I warned coworkers in Greenfield that something bad was coming their way but it went south... I know it sucks that it hit towns and ruined homes, and I'm so very sorry for those who lost loved ones, but honestly, how often do you get a chance to catch an EF3 in MA or CT? I wish I had seen it...
@PootStip Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought a Tornado would hit my Neighborhood! We were so close to it but far enough away! Until my husband called frantically to check on us, we were unaware of the devastation happening around us...I hope you Never get that close to a tornado...I hope we all , for the rest of our lives, Never get close enough to see it,hear it or feel it... My continued prayers for everyone affected by these and the Joplin/Tuscaloosa Tornadoes.
Excellent video. I was up the street where the tree was down in the road (where you had to turn around). A few of us rode it out at work. Since we were in it, we didn't get a full appreciation of how large this storm actually was. It was the scariest thing I've ever experienced. Now watching your video it makes me happy to be alive. God bless the residents of Monson and all others affected by the tornado.
Best video I have seen yet on this terrible day. I dont know if "best" is the right way to describe it, but you brought reality to what all those people are experiencing...god bless them all.
I live in monson but my house didnt get hit thankfully but for the ines that did im feel bad

yes we had more crazy weather yesterday!!! There are unconfirmed reports of funnel clouds in Chicopee & Wilbraham ( they are still without power!)
saw some pictures of the damage and it looks like a tornado to me. we'll see today when they come to investigate.

Amazing footage! Were you able to make it home that night? We were on the south side of town, and couldn't get to relatives on the north side.
This is an experience I never hope to have again.
