COOL EXPERIMENT, BUT CAN YOU PLEASE STOP CALLING IT A SSTC - SOLID STATE TESLA COIL, LIKE THERE EXISTED A TESLA COIL WITH MOVING PARTS AS WELL... ITS A STUPID NAME THAT APPEARED ON YOUTUBE ONLY AND IT MAKES YOU SOUND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF THE TERM SOLID STATE WAS TO DIVIDE THE TWO VERSIONS OF THE SAME THING, ONE WITH MOVING PARTS, ONE WITHOUT. LIKE A HARDDRIVE F.EX. B UT A TESLA COIL CANT BE MADE WITH MOVING PARTS SO OF COURSE IT IS SOLID STATE! SO STOP SAYING THAT
True Free energy devices exist,But there are very powerfull forces that want to supress the technology,Get the blueprints for a free energy motor at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Big change is comming soon!
"my hv caps always blow" -- ha ha -- hilaroius! I made a big ham radio class-c amp (for CW/Teletype) and my "hv caps blew" ... big time!!! I used a pole-pig xfmr backwards (220->4400) and I failed account for 1.414x peak voltage. Oops!
would a sstc run on just 12v in the primary on a resonant square wave? im talking about a tesla coil not a fly back or ignition commonly associated with the tc . thanks for any reply.
i have ran teslacoils on a simple 555 flyback driver with a 102 cap and 2 10k pots on the 555 and that connected to a 200v fet running on 50v at 1A and got 1" streamers from a 9" coil

Very nice! Very healthy streamers. What RF frequency are you using?

@HomemadeBanjo I think it was about 100kHz. this coil is long since gone.

I think the spark gap is too far apart. Try to move it closer to get a steady noise. (Don't move it too close though)

It doesn't use a spark gap. This coils uses mosfets.

It would run but depending on the circuit I wouldnt expect much spark output.

i might be better off with the old sparkgap high voltage type lol thanks

would a square wave generator drive a tesla coil if ste to resonance?
98209276 4 years ago
Yes but you need a power stage to beef up the current.
Tab54o 4 years ago
what about a high voltage flyback that runs through a rectifiyer? how would you switch current that high without screwing the transistor or 555?
98209276 4 years ago
It doesnt need to be that high voltage. Mine uses 160 volts.
Tab54o 4 years ago
yer lol i know im just saying wouldnt that be a good way to get a higher dc? i only want to make this design because my hv caps always blow.

nice coil ,, please subscribe to my channel ..i promise i will not dissapoint .. see you there

The old Edison had a good groundwork finished via Tesla. Cheeter

Just the output makes that sound. I had it set to a slow burst rate.

it sounds like one of those vacuum tube coils I saw in another vid, what is making that loud popping sound?

Great little coil that you have made. thanks for sharing!
