  • yay i am the 36.166'th viewer !!

  • This was done before years before Mythbusters did this, it was a german guy behind the German cruise ship Deutshland

  • yay 35000 viewer

  • Some U.S. aircraft carriers go 45 knots+ - fast enough to waterski BAREFOOT!

  • @Artemetra You don't need to travel at 45 knots to water ski barefoot. If anything, travelling that fast barefoot would put you in excruciating pain. It can be done at speeds as low as (but not limited to) 10 knots. I have personally witnessed this.

  • i saw this episode 2 days ago

  • dude that is awesome that you got footage from whenever they did that episode

  • In Denmark managed to get 3 guys waterskiing behind a danish cruise (not as big as this) but that was all the way back in 1982.

  • Its a shame the Regal Empress got scrapped, she was made in the 50's!

  • Tory Rocks lol :D

  • I don't know if I'd try that shit behind the QM2 or some of those bigger Italian built tubs. They set deep in the water, and their wake creates a hellacious undercurrent.

  • this want fake

  • they did it in norway on first try

  • hey its tory from mythbusters

  • I did that once too, helped me to get a red bull sponsorship

  • people who arnt rich snobs.....

  • sharkbait.

  • i used to work on this ship in 2001. Good times.

  • can i ask u how can i get a job on a ship ?? what papers do i need ?? if u sad u worked on one ??

  • i'm from the UK and it was a C1D visa i needed, that was all (obviosuly my passprt too)

  • I sailed on this ship with my parents when I was one years old in November 1985 when it was the MS Caribe I of the Commodore Cruise Lines. A shame it's being taken out of service.

  • I worked on that ship for over 2 years when she was the MS Caribe 1.... a classic beauty, shame they're going to scrap her. :(

  • All sailing on Regal Empress have been cancelled this week and the ship is on permanent charter for Gulf storm relief. After that she'll most likely be scrapped.

  • The last of the real cruise ships. Not a floating hotel- but a real ship with real wood.

  • Old news in June 12 2006 a German dith the same behind the German flagged cruise ship ms Deutschland.

  • cutting and pasting are we??

  • isnt that mythbusters

  • yeah it smelled, but it didn't smell like pee. It smelled like an old ship. Keeping in mind she's over 50 years old, the smell disappeared quickly (got used to it) and had a old-time pleasentness to it actually. You certainly didn't forget the charm of being on a old girl like her.

  • For a 55-year old ship, the Regal Empress is in pretty good shape plus alot better looking than the boxy new ships. The woodwork onboard is amazing and it is all real-not the plastic crap on most new ships.

  • I used to work on that ship.

  • Was it just me, or does it vibrate when the engine is running?

  • Not to mention that it smells like pee, the water pressure sucks and...well it's really just a crappy ship. Did you just sail on it or did you work there?

  • Went to Nassau and back, noticed the water pressure issue, didn't notice any urine smell. But did see some rust and ill fitting trim.

We liked most of the employees we met on board, although the guys selling drinks were kind of like circling annoying sharks. My apologies if that was your job.

Considering what we paid, it was a fair value.

  • Yes, it vibrates while the engine is running (was just on her Jan 5 - 7), but it's not a big deal (the vibrations are subtle). Great ship she is!

  • just saw this on the show lol

  • sweeeet! i just watched the show. very cool!

  • Great, now I know how tonight's Mythbusters is going to end!

  • kewl
