The back of the Twilight cover kind of ruined it. If Stephanie wouldn't have mentioned that Edward was a vampire, then it kinda would've been interesting to read.
In a reimagined version Twilight that I'm still planning things on, Edward is a much different character. He's not statuesque, he's fat, he's not immortal, he dresses a tough guy, he's chronologically adolescent as well as physically, and he's shy and quiet at first, but eventually becomes more confident and energetic. Plus he's not abusive, or possesive, or controlling. And he and Jacob don't have a rivalry for Bella's heart.
@vanillaskulldirector Me too. :) Although I'm not sure about the ending. I have several fates for Bella, who's pretty much the same except she also has Edward's original problems too so she's even worse! She's emo, she hates her human friends, she lusts after Ed, she has breakdowns, she watches Ed while he sleeps, she disables his vehicles, and even tries to sneak into the shower with him a few times!
@vanillaskulldirector Here are the fates that I have planned for Bella: 1. She gets institutionalized. 2. She commits suicide. 3. She gets killed by the Volturi. 4. She becomes a vampire and then gets killed by Ed. and 5. She dies in an accident.
@Jakegothicsnake Hmmm, I like the idea of her getting killed by the Volturi... but I think it would be hilarious if Eddy broke up with her, and she decided to "out" him, leading to her being institutionalized (I don't know if that was how you intended for that to go, but when I read that possibility, that was the first thing that popped into my head :) )
@vanillaskulldirector Well actually, the reason I have for her being institutionalized was on account of court orders. You see I plan to make Bella a stalker with the worst traits and tendencies of boh the original Bella and Edward into just this Bella. In this story, she's new girl who develops stalker behavior around Ed, and he soon becomes afraid of her, and when her predatory behavior drives Ed to the limi, it becomes a county scandal and it leads to a trial.
@Jakegothicsnake Okay - that's awesome, plain and simple. I think that would work really well. Of course, being killed by the Volturi might be more satisfying to all of us Bella-haters.... Getting killed by Edward might be - well, I don't know how I feel about that, but it would be cool :) As for dying in an accident... that might seem a little anti-climactic, but that's just me.
What I hate about Edwards actions are that everyone justifys it, because he "loves" her, my god Edward could punch Bella square in her mouth, and no one would bat an eyelid if he said he loved her afterwards. I hate how stephanie myer's glorifys being in an abusive relationship as well as child grooming
I also find it ironic that Stephenie's maiden name was Mason. *Rolls eyes* ... both of them are cunts to the core. Only one is fictional and one relates to a porn star that nobody wants.
I actually liked Edward in the beiginning of the first movie. When he introdced himself and was smiling, he seemed charming and polite. At other times, he didn't, but Rob gave him his moments. But I thought Rob was adorable as Cedric so I probably still saw Cedric whenever he was on screen.
It kinda like...he TRIES to be a good boyfriend/nice to Bella but he overall treats her like a play thing,a dog,dog or (because of his age)more like a child.
Stalks her, orders her around, plays with her emotions, doesnt really listen to her and all this crap.
I REALLY wished there was a vampire who could wipe her memories of Edward and the Cullens with no chance of them coming back,at all.
@ThatCreepyKid243 At first, I had respect for Jacob because he seemed like a friendly guy and he tries to heal Bella's anguish. After he becomes a werewolf, cuts his hair, becomes hot tempered, and imprints on Reneesme, that was point were Jacob officially sucked as a character to me. Plus what got on my nerves was that Stephenie Meyer created a character with long black hair and was named Jacob(my name is Jacob and I have long black hair so I feel a little ripped off).
I love twilight books but honestly I love your twist that you make on the characters. I think you should write the twilight books in your own way. that would be pretty cool two twilight series the current one and then your version.
His behavior is just... completely disgusting. If I were Bella, I would have never associated myself with him. In Twilight, he drags her to his car by force. In New Moon, he leaves her in the woods. In Eclipse, don't even get me started, and in Breaking Dawn, I wanted to throw up the whole time I was reading. I love all your opinions, and I feel bad for you whenever I see a negative comment. If your book gets published and becomes a hit, you deserve it.
She thinks about giving him the silent treatment! As if what he did was not to give into her impulses to buy her some expensive shoes!
And even this fails, because the moment she realizes they listen to the same music, she forgets it. Like, wow, they listen to the same music! They are so destined for each other... BITE ME, MEYER!!
Edward's abusive, controlling behaviour came to be much earlier in book one: after Bella almost faints in the biology class from the blood, he offers her to drive her home. She doesn't agree to it. When she heads for her car to go home, he grabs her, drags her to his own car and threatens her to drag her back if she leaves, saying "Where do you think you're going?!" in fury.
Instead of screaming, trying to fight against the one that drags her against her will, she does what?
i hated twilight i wasted 4 days of my life on that book i didnt even want to take my time with it but once i start reading something i wont put it down its a bit of an ocd with me.a book im reading at the moment is one i have been trying to find for years The Crow and i would defo recomend it even if youve seen the movie you will enjoy it
If I liked Twilight, which I don't...I'd go for Jacob. He has flaws and I think his relationship with Bella is more meaningful. Plus he isn't a total jackass.
i don't know...his relationship with bella was more meaningful but i always hated jacob of how immature he acted. Like when he forced her to kiss him, sooooo pissed, and his resentment toward edward because of her just got annoying to me.
if you ask me, take neither of them and find a real guy, preferably not a supernatural creature!
@SerenityCalamity I did have some respect for Jacob Black at first when I first saw that stupid New Moon Trailer I saw at my college's supply store. But after he becomes a werewolf and from Eclipse and Breaking Dawn afterwards Jacob sucked as a character to me........
I've only really read the first Twilight book, but the only thing that stopped me from reading the next one was Edward, for pretty much the same reasons you gave. That, and I thought he was kind of two-dimensional -- like, he's got all these bad qualities, and his only good qualities seemed to be that he was mysterious and somewhat romantic. There was NOTHING else to him.
he is a stalker peeping tom obsessed with bella dirty thoughts thinking vampire in MidnightSun. he feels bad about it, though. he is too controlling. a guy like that in real life is abusive and obssessive. all that mixed with a vampire should equal disaster , not instant love and foreverness. i do wish he was a darker character. that would be so much fun :D i would love him if he meant to be all the crazy things and not apologize for it.
I actually like that he is pushy and pig headed because it actually gives him a godamn flaw... I don't like Edward though... as far as I know, since I haven't read twilight.
The funny thing is that right after i broke up with my sorta boyfriend, he said " I feel very protective of you... like Edward is to Bella" and i just snorted and said "First of all, I haven't read twighlight... second of all, you are NOT Edward Cullen... third... DO NOT call me BELLA!" !$#@%$Y^
One thing that grossed me out about how Edward watched Bella nearly every night was when she was more upset that he found out that she sleeptalked moreso than the fact that this guy was fucking watching her while she slept. There's something definately wrong with that picture.
Also, I'm reading New Moon right now, I kind of like it honestly. Maybe because there's no Edward for a good chunk of the book. When she's with Jacob, it's more than, "OMG SO PERFECT" It's more of a "He's attractive, but I like being around him, he makes everyone around him happy." With Jacob, she can be in love with someone, but still have a life. With Edward she can't.
she doesnt want a life. she wants to be a vampire and hide in the darkness away from her own mother and father. she only visits charlie once after she is turned and her mother none.
Edward Cullen is a cunt. Plain and simple. He doesn't respect any of Bella's decisions, when he told her he was *forcing* her to go to prom, she was in tears and very upset, and he still made her go. Any good boyfriend wouldn't have done that. He insults her, he raises his voice to her, he doesn't let her show any affection. He is an overall shithead.
@SlayerAngel90 You forgot the parts where he bullied her into marriage, and then later tried to force an abortion on her.
And when she passed out during sex - because he was being too rough and bruised her whole body - but he only continued doing her like he didn't give a shit. "Oh Bella, I'm sorry I brutally raped you. Now get rid of the baby."

well the first comment was right i mean there were really no big obstacles besides victoria and james but the both die *whoops* i mean the book was mainly a love story and really nothing else
there is no purpose to this book. There are no obstacles to overcome no one is truly undrestanding themselves and there is no positive breakthrough change. This is a love story with no story or love. All it is accounts of a girl who was physically in love with a "vampire". the story lacks meaning and their relationship isn't even a relationship. All they do is cuddle and say how much they love each other. Where are the interests?the dating?why can't it be Edward trying to adjust to society?
DISCLAIMER: This is in no way meant to say that I like SMeyer's writing; I don't.
Midnight Sun seems almost like she's going back and making Twilight much more realistic. I could see in Twilight that Edward was capitalizing on Bella's incompetence, but since its Bella's POV its very subtle. In Midnight Sun it seems like its bringing that darker side of their frivolous relationship to light. Maybe Smeyer realizes she made bad choices? Maybe GROWING AS A WRITER?
You know i want to hear some of the fans say it was okay if edward could stalk and watch them in their sleep if he was ugly (or not as attractive) and not perfect (not saying all the twilighters are that shallow) but he still "loved" them.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
She was just whining about no wanting to go. Edward was just trying to get Bella to stop being so anti social. He has consoled her MANY times. A little prom doesn't make a bad person. Plus, Bella enjoyed dancing with him once she got there. He is a perfect boyfriend and the fact that he took her to prom just shows it in another way.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
So many guys call their girlfriends difficult for one thing or another. He DOES care about Bella, and that is why he took out the engine-- because he cared about her life. Honestly, you antis may be against Twilight but saying that Edward Cullen is the absolute worst is an exaggeration. He is an ideal lover and partner in many ways.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
That doesn't make any sense. You would rather be with a murderer? A physical abuser? A psychopath? A sociopath? A 2 ton man? A child molester? All over Edward Cullen? That's such a vile exaggeration. There are worse men out there, including real life guys that are just awful.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Well you said that even if he was the last one in the universe, you still wouldn't which is ridiculous because there are much worse people out there as I stated. I know weight =/= personality but a 2 ton man's weight limits him. I'm just pointing out that it is an exaggeration to say he's the worst in the whole universe. At least he's not a cheater. That can't be said about most guys because they are always cheating. At least Edward is dedicated to Bella, the same cannot be said for most men.
Women cheat too. Hell, Bella emotionally cheats on Edward with Bella. Edward has good points, but it doesn't overshadow the bad. Just because someone is "loyal" doesn't make them good people. My dad never cheated on my mother, but he isn't the bets husband in the world.
Men cheat far more than women. And being loyal is a huge plus because in this world most guys still daydream or fantasize about other women despite having girlfriends or wives. Edward doesn't do that, which can be seen when he ignores the waitress in Twilight. He's also generous, has humor, is clever, caring, sweet, and is madly in love with Bella, not to mention very handsome. If that's not good enough for you then I don't know what is. There aren't many guys that can live up to him.
Honestly if Edward Cullen is not generous, clever, caring ,sweet, and humorous then I don't see how any other guy is. He is the epitome of all those characteristics from what I have observed.
@moonlight9283 *late* You're very sexist aren't you? I would rather be with a man who thinks about other women, than a man that constantly abuses me. And I should know that Edward is abusive, I have been in both verbal/mental abusive, and physically abusive relationships.
"Men are the cheaters" is totally contradicted in the book itself, with Bella whoring after Jacob all the time. And helping them be a better person does not mean taking away their free will. People have to change themselves.
Are you excusing him calling her 'difficult' by saying 'everyone else does it'? That doesn't justify your argument, it only shows that many guys are making the same mistake.
He took out the engine out of jealousy, Jacob was never a threat to Bella, nor were any of the shifters.
He is in no way ideal. On several occations he talks down to her for being herself and forces her to change to be what he wants (the prom incident; forcing her to be social). Is that what a boyfriend is to you?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He is not trying to change her. He only wanted to make her be more exposed socially. It's not healthy to be confined to yourself all the time anyways. He is doing something to better her, and you take it as being a bad boyfriend. Sorry, but I don't agree with you. Edward has only helped Bella and never once has he shown himself to be a bad boyfriend. In fact, most guys wouldn't even help their girlfriends in ways that Edward does. And Bella is still herself even after prom.
Yes it is his business to better her. It's called being a good boyfriend. He has interests too, maybe he wanted to go to prom, does that mean that just because Bella doesn't want to go that he can't go? They have a perfectly healthy relationship. He is most of the time very sweet to her, and he did come back to her. He is not jealous, he was protecting her. He did not abuse her. He is perfect in every way, and I don't think any guy can be live up to him one bit.
As a boyfriend it's his job to love her, even as she improves herself at her own pace. Trying to rush her was a bad move. (Not an uncommon one, but one that keeps him from perfection.)
"He is, most of the time, very sweet to her." Exactly, he is often good but he misses the mark of perfection.
He came back to her, yes, but leaving her in the first place was not something a 'perfect' boyfriend would have done.
He stole her engine to keep her from seeing Jacob, who is perfectly safe.
he did leave her but he had a decent reason. to keep her safe, but a lot of good that did. she still had to meet the volturi. in a lot of parts bella should have said "Fuck you, Edward!" but she never says that.
How is forcing her to go to the prom going to improve her? Is not liking dancing an parties a character flaw now? What if you told YOUR boyfriend you didn't want to do something, and then he FORCED you to do it, even when you were crying, just to 'build your character'?
He is the worst because he controls everything Bella does. The Prom thing was ridiculous because if he was a good boyfriend he would've asked her gently what was wrong and how it will make her feel better.
If I were Bella I would've slammed the door to his face for being such a controlling prick.
Hang on, "He loved her before he even knew it himself"... I sense a logical fallacy there.
In order to LOVE someone you have to understand who they are and believe that you could spend forever with them EVEN KNOWING THOSE THINGS. You are able to respect them, and they feel that they can live with you and respect you FOR THE SAME REASONS. Edward claims to love Bella even before he has a meaningful conversation with her, how is what you said even possible?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Many people fall in love without knowing each other that well or having many conversations. Just because you think it's not logical doesn't mean it's not true love.
They become attracted to each other without knowing each other well, but it doesn't become more than that until they figure out who they are and what they love. If they don't learn what that person is actually like, it's like they love a body without a personality. Learning about their personality is vital before you can love a person for who they are, don't you think?
I'd like to note that I actually enjoyed Edwards psychotic behaviour (the stalking, the disrepecting of Bella's wishes) and I was really disappointed that it wasn't further explored as to why he did the things he did. To me it sort of compensated for the lack of.... Blood drinking and killing and typical vampire stuff.
but edward really does love bella even when he goes the wrong way keep her safe that y i say he is not perfect! i do respect your opinion i just wish u didnt hate him cuz he is a good chara! i didnt read midnight sun soo dont know about that!
I would like Edward more if he was a darker character and people didn't see him as perfect so much (you don't think he's perfect and I agree). When I started writing stories with Edward in it, I realized that his character would have been so much better if he didn't have this whole fake perfection that Bella and fans put on him.
He does bad things and they ignore it, that's what bugs me.
the jealous thing with jacob yes he was jealous n what he did was wrong n im glad he grow up n let her see him! the baby thing yes that piss me off 2! i was watchin a interview with smeyer of breaking dawn n they ask that question y she made edward do that n she said 2 show how desperate he was 2 keepin bella alive whatever that what she said!
when he took bella things that he gaves her like the cd n the pics that she took of him i understand what he was doin! he knew if she kept them it would be hard 4 her 2 forget him n he wanted her 2 movin! yes its wrong but i understand where he is comin from!
edward is my fav chara from the saga. I know the sparklein thing makes the vamps suck in this book! with the whole birthday party thing edward didnt do that remember that was alice that threw her the party! edward didnt give bella a gift other than the cd he made her cuz she wouldnt let him that y in eclispe he gets jealous when jacob gives her a bracelets n she takes without a problem! n she gives him a hard time let him give her a gift!
Oh dear God. His middle name is Mason. A character in my book is named Mason but I don't want to change his name. -Cries in emo corner-
I hate him so much.
Edward: "Hey, Bella, I'm just gonna stalk you and stare intensely whenever I look in your direction. Do you mind if I sparkle, too? Oh yeah, I want to eat chu. Is that dazzling?"
I am actually worried for the Twilight fans- they all seem so blind. It's like the teenage race is growing steadily more shallow. Cullen is so clearly not that great- I wouldn't want a bf like him even if he was hot and could sparkle (especially if he sparkled...). Seriously. Smeyer and her fans need to rethink.
did stephenie meyer call you up on the phone one night and say "yo melina do you like edward the way i wrote him?" NO SHE DIDNT!! SO SHUTUP by the way you keep contradicting yourself
Ok, I will watch them later. Thankyou as well, it was actually really interesting to hear your strong views. but i still think that you should just get past the "bad things" and see how much edward adores Bella, and it's pretty clear through out the books. especially Midnight Sun
I don't like love is an excuse to be a jerk and do bad things. I used to think that, but my experience(which I explain in why I hate twilight) changed that.

"treats her badly" omg are you high? he has NEVER done anything to treat her badly he is the perfetc gentle men and also a vampire, so his standards of love are different to yours. he has been alone for 108 years and he told bella that if she didnt want him, then he would leave her alone
Perfect gentleman? lol. Well, maybe we have different views on what a gentleman is, but I don't think that a gentleman offers his wife to another man.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
in breaking dawn, he only said to jacob that you should have sex with her because RENESME WAS KILLING BELLA. and as soon as he realised that bella loved their baby, he didnt go around offering her to ppl

edward never hurts her!! he doesnt beat her!! and he doesn't abuse her!! if anything, you should hate bella because she doesnt stay away from him like he warned her to. they fell in love.
@XxxxxCluelessxxxxX Yes, he mentally abuses her. Constantly insulting her, disregarding her opinions and thoughts, telling her who she can and can't see, and bullying, manipulating or forcing her into things she does not want, are all abuse. He rapes her, for God's sake. SHE PASSED OUT because he was hurting her, and HE KEPT FUCKING HER, regardless! She was covered in bruises!
They didn't fall in love. They fell in lust. Because all they know about each other is that the other is hot.
@XxxxxCluelessxxxxX i totally agree. sure he has flaws...but nobody is perfect. but edward really does ADORE bella......he just worries about her and is just a little prone to overeaction. :)
@extremetwihard1 A little prone to overreactions like controlling every aspect of her life, bullying her into things she doesn't want, insulting her, and brutally raping her. :)
Just because you adore someone doesn't mean you're not abusing them.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Sorry that i'm writing so much! i just got really into it because if never heard any- one with bad opinions on edward, like you. ok so sixthly-he NEVER makes Bella do anything that she doesn't want to do. The whole Birthday Party thing was organised by The Cullens, and they put a lot of effort into it for Bella. The only reason that Bella was reluctant about it was because she didn't want to age, and become 18, for obvious reasons.
5)-He breaks up with Bella forcing her to try and forget about him
-Removes her engine to stop her from seeing jake
-BD scene with Jacob
You see it may not seem like a big deal because its a birthday party, but the fact that he can not even do that small thing shows how little he cares for her opinion.
Example, I hate diamonds so if my bf got me a diamond, even though its beautiful, he should know me and know that I don't like them. lol
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
yes, because WEREWOLVES ARE THE ENEMIES ( until eclipse), so he is PROTECTING bella again and she loves him for it..until he leaves her. he never calls bella weak, he just says that compared to him (he can life a 500tonne car) she is weak.
Edward is a mindreader. He knows the shifters would never hurt Bella. He is just jealous. If anything Jasper is more dangerous to Bella than the shifters.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
and what's wrong with that? he only said fragile little human on a deleted scene and it wasnt in the movie so that's irrelevant. he never said that in the books. yes, jasper is dangerous , and so is his family that's why he spent most of twilight trying to convince bella to stay away from him.
He calls her fragile is different ways: saying she can't handle herself and all those kinds of things are the same as calling her weak. She just accepts that. She soulds like a broken woman.
Exactly, so how is it logical to keep her away from the shifters.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
and fourthly- they are IN LOVE which just takes away any flaws that he has if you get what i mean. like she doesnt care that he protects her in a wierd way, because she doesnt want to live without him. fifth-in New Moon, he leaves Bella because he is worried that he is endangering her, once again he is PROTECTING her and he takes away the pictures so that it is easier for her to forget him.
Love does not excuse you! I'm sorry love is not a reason to do bad things. Look at men who hit their wives and beat them and the wives who accept it because in their minds they are in love. That is not right.
5)He doesn't have the right to take something that is important to her just because HE thinks it'll make things easier
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
yes but it's not in her MIND that they're in love, they are actually "unconditionally and irrevocably " inlove. and that's how stephenie meyer intended it to be, and she did it amazingly.
They are in love because SMeyer says so. Also it is in her mind, because its Bella's POV.
She did not do it amazingly.
Bella is OBSESSED with Edward. That is not healthy. She is willing to give up EVERYTHING about herself for a guy she has known for one year: family friends future children everything without any doubts...that is sick
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
it isn't just love. they NEED one another and it's also NOT REAL, so every body has different opinions on it. yes it's bella's POV, but midnight sun is edward's and he explains how much he loves bella
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
ok and when has edward ever hit bella?! he saves her from danger all the time. and if you're gonna bring up new moon and when he broke her heart then you obviously have no idea why he did it. *sorry if i'm being rude :) * he did it because he was sure that he was endangering bella and even in breaking dawn, he never manages to forgive himself for hurting her like that AND if you recall, he tried to kill himself because of it!
Bella is willing to risk her life to be with Edward and she is aware of that, she has the scar from James to prove it, but as soon as Edward thinks its gonna be too difficult he leaves. That is not fair!
He doesn't have the right to make choices for Bella. She is her own person.
:) ok i agree that rosalie is pretty awesome but what she did was low. romeo and juliet is a timeless love story, so you cant just bad mouth it because of the suicide thing
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
yes people shouldn't need other people. but this is a VAMPIRE we're talking about. edward loves bella and that's the only way i can put it. i see your point about how he controls her, but he's had a century of experience, he knows what he's doing, and what he's doing is PROTECTING bella and LOVING her unconditionally
Also, I've read other vampire love stories where the female does not get controled by the guy: True Blood, Vampire Kisses, Vampire Academy, Buffy, etc..
protecting her is a good thing! third- he doesn't disrespect Bella, he is a vampire so he is just amazed that Bella loves him for who he his and if anything he has HUGE respect, love and adoration for her, as she has for him
3)Adoring her is not the same as respect. He always calls her foolish, weak and makes her seem like she can't do anything. He might find that 'cute' but in rl that is not cute...that is a stepford wife in the making
2) You see the problem with that is that you are saying that because he loves her he as the right to do whatever he wants.
That's not true.
I mean there are husbands who stalk their wives and say its because they love them. They honestly in their minds think it is the right thing. That does not make it right
ha your video is really funny btw!! but i have to disagree with you because i'm SUCH a hard core twihard fan...okay first- if you cant stand edward then why did you read all of the books?
Well, I have to agree with you for the most part. I'm a bit neutral between Jacob and Edward, I don't really have and characters that annoy me or bug me.
Anyways, I guess what you have to remember is that he is a vampire, and going through emotional trauma loving a human...I guess. I can't say hes my favorite and I can't say I agree with everything he's done.
Overall I think you broke his character down very nicely :)
edward is like that charcter um like he loves her but at the same time he can not stand her! at first i did not understand edward but as i got into the books he went to a diffrent path. He is a diffrent person being a live for 110 yrs or less he probaly never loved some one as much as her i disagree but at the same time i think u will understand!
I think that a darker Edward would have been more interesting it would have added a natural complexity to their relationship. After all after Twilight their relationship loses that whole forbidden feel
I wish you were my friend, or at least that my friends had as much sense as you. I'm so sick of being attacked every time I DARE talk bad about Eddykins.
Finally, the truth about Edward! *Hated him since the first book!*
Surprising that there are more anti-Bella fans than anti-Edward fans (in a population of Twilight fans). I think Bella would've been better off if she HADN'T met Edward. (As for Midnight Sun, I found it WORSE than Twilight. I really don't want it published.)
guys! his name is NOT Mason, its Masen!!! come on!

Edward Cullen = a taste of an abusive boyfriend/husband.
Bella Swan = a taste of a beatdown girlfriend/wife who can't think for herself (she should have told him straight out that he was being a jerkwad.)
Twilight series = a taste of bad fiction.

@Jakegothicsnake Hmmm, I like the idea of her getting killed by the Volturi... but I think it would be hilarious if Eddy broke up with her, and she decided to "out" him, leading to her being institutionalized (I don't know if that was how you intended for that to go, but when I read that possibility, that was the first thing that popped into my head :) )
vanillaskulldirector 10 months ago

LeslieWilsonPerry 1 year ago
Oh Edward.I'll give him this.
She wants to be with Jacob?
At least he's a better guy,for the most part..
ThatCreepyKid243 1 year ago
@ThatCreepyKid243 At first, I had respect for Jacob because he seemed like a friendly guy and he tries to heal Bella's anguish. After he becomes a werewolf, cuts his hair, becomes hot tempered, and imprints on Reneesme, that was point were Jacob officially sucked as a character to me. Plus what got on my nerves was that Stephenie Meyer created a character with long black hair and was named Jacob(my name is Jacob and I have long black hair so I feel a little ripped off).

I love twilight books but honestly I love your twist that you make on the characters. I think you should write the twilight books in your own way. that would be pretty cool two twilight series the current one and then your version.
sweetdimpelzz 1 year ago
His behavior is just... completely disgusting. If I were Bella, I would have never associated myself with him. In Twilight, he drags her to his car by force. In New Moon, he leaves her in the woods. In Eclipse, don't even get me started, and in Breaking Dawn, I wanted to throw up the whole time I was reading. I love all your opinions, and I feel bad for you whenever I see a negative comment. If your book gets published and becomes a hit, you deserve it.

THANK YOU!
There was NOTHING else to him.
vanillaskulldirector 2 years ago
he is a stalker peeping tom obsessed with bella dirty thoughts thinking vampire in MidnightSun. he feels bad about it, though. he is too controlling. a guy like that in real life is abusive and obssessive. all that mixed with a vampire should equal disaster , not instant love and foreverness. i do wish he was a darker character. that would be so much fun :D i would love him if he meant to be all the crazy things and not apologize for it.

@SlayerAngel90 You forgot the parts where he bullied her into marriage, and then later tried to force an abortion on her.

there is no purpose to this book.

That would be a plot twist... @_@

You know i want to hear some of the fans say it was okay if edward could stalk and watch them in their sleep if he was ugly (or not as attractive) and not perfect (not saying all the twilighters are that shallow) but he still "loved" them.
zephyrvampire 2 years ago 6
I think it's romantic that he watches her sleep at night. Plus, the reason he watches her sleep is because he's a vampire so he can't sleep.

It's not romantic to watch a stranger.

Edward brushes it off by calling her "difficult."
If he DID love her, he would have stopped the car and consoled her and most likely turn back--NOT call her "difficult".
BAD BOYFRIEND ALERT!!! If he does not comfort you while you're crying and calling it ridiculous, then he doesn't care. Bad boyfriend.
Phoenixangelgal 2 years ago 17

She was just whining about no wanting to go. Edward was just trying to get Bella to stop being so anti social. He has consoled her MANY times. A little prom doesn't make a bad person. Plus, Bella enjoyed dancing with him once she got there. He is a perfect boyfriend and the fact that he took her to prom just shows it in another way.
moonlight9283 2 years ago
Sadly I ain't buying it.
A guy who calls a girl "difficult" is NOT a good boyfriend in my book. It means he doesn't understand you or even CARE.
And btw, didn't he once drag her into his Volvo and then threatened to drag her back. That's kidnapping and false imprisonment.
And don't get me started on the car engine thing. WHO THE FUCK RIPS OUT SOMEONE'S ENGINE?!?!?!

So many guys call their girlfriends difficult for one thing or another. He DOES care about Bella, and that is why he took out the engine-- because he cared about her life. At least Edward is dedicated to Bella, the same cannot be said for most men.
moonlight9283 2 years ago
Women cheat too. Hell, Bella emotionally cheats on Edward with Bella. Edward has good points, but it doesn't overshadow the bad. Just because someone is "loyal" doesn't make them good people. My dad never cheated on my mother, but he isn't the bets husband in the world.
You can like Edward, but to me, he is...nothing.
MelinaPendulum 2 years ago

Men cheat far more than women. And being loyal is a huge plus because in this world most guys still daydream or fantasize about other women despite having girlfriends or wives. Edward doesn't do that, which can be seen when he ignores the waitress in Twilight. He's also generous, has humor, is clever, caring, sweet, and is madly in love with Bella, not to mention very handsome. If that's not good enough for you then I don't know what is. There aren't many guys that can live up to him.
moonlight9283 2 years ago

MacabreKitten 2 years ago 4
@moonlight9283 *late* You're very sexist aren't you? I would rather be with a man who thinks about other women, than a man that constantly abuses me. And I should know that Edward is abusive, I have been in both verbal/mental abusive, and physically abusive relationships.
"Men are the cheaters" is totally contradicted in the book itself, with Bella whoring after Jacob all the time. And helping them be a better person does not mean taking away their free will. People have to change themselves.
littlekitsune1 5 months ago
Are you excusing him calling her 'difficult' by saying 'everyone else does it'? That doesn't justify your argument, it only shows that many guys are making the same mistake.
He took out the engine out of jealousy, Jacob was never a threat to Bella, nor were any of the shifters.
He is in no way ideal. On several occations he talks down to her for being herself and forces her to change to be what he wants (the prom incident; forcing her to be social). Is that what a boyfriend is to you?
Otamamon 2 years ago 12
This comment has received too many negative votes show
He is not trying to change her. And Bella is still herself even after prom.
moonlight9283 2 years ago
It's not his business to better her, except by being an example. Even anti-sociality is less harmful than being in an unhealthy relationship.
He has done a few things that were good as a boyfriend, fine. but people see him as perfect when he:
-is rude to her (entire series)
-abandons her (New moon)
-lets jealousy overcome him (eclipse)
-and offers to let her be sexually abused. (Breaking Dawn)
I don't care if you like Edward or the romance, but please don't say that he's perfect.
Otamamon 2 years ago 21

Yes it is his business to better her. It's called being a good boyfriend. He has interests too, maybe he wanted to go to prom, does that mean that just because Bella doesn't want to go that he can't go? They have a perfectly healthy relationship. He is most of the time very sweet to her, and he did come back to her. He is not jealous, he was protecting her. He did not abuse her. He is perfect in every way, and I don't think any guy can be live up to him one bit.
moonlight9283 2 years ago
As a boyfriend it's his job to love her, even as she improves herself at her own pace. Trying to rush her was a bad move. (Not an uncommon one, but one that keeps him from perfection.)
"He is, most of the time, very sweet to her." Exactly, he is often good but he misses the mark of perfection.
He came back to her, yes, but leaving her in the first place was not something a 'perfect' boyfriend would have done.
He stole her engine to keep her from seeing Jacob, who is perfectly safe.
Otamamon 2 years ago 12
he did leave her but he had a decent reason. to keep her safe, but a lot of good that did. she still had to meet the volturi. in a lot of parts bella should have said "Fuck you, Edward!" but she never says that.
chocolytesprynkles 2 years ago 4
How is forcing her to go to the prom going to improve her? Is not liking dancing an parties a character flaw now? What if you told YOUR boyfriend you didn't want to do something, and then he FORCED you to do it, even when you were crying, just to 'build your character'?

@moonlight9283 Please give me examples of how he has changed her for the better. And why you think he has not abused her?
littlekitsune1 5 months ago
I can think of better men.
Jacob for one, then a lot of anime characters (Kurama, Edward Elric, Abel, etc), and real life men too.
And no, he ripped out her engine out of jealousy, he even admits he's jealous.
Jealousy is bad, but everyone gets it, true. A BAD boyfriend takes jealousy to the extreme to do harm--such as tearing out her truck engine.
Phoenixangelgal 2 years ago
He is the worst because he controls everything Bella does. The Prom thing was ridiculous because if he was a good boyfriend he would've asked her gently what was wrong and how it will make her feel better.
If I were Bella I would've slammed the door to his face for being such a controlling prick.
MacabreKitten 2 years ago 64
Hang on, "He loved her before he even knew it himself"... I sense a logical fallacy there.
In order to LOVE someone you have to understand who they are and believe that you could spend forever with them EVEN KNOWING THOSE THINGS. You are able to respect them, and they feel that they can live with you and respect you FOR THE SAME REASONS. Edward claims to love Bella even before he has a meaningful conversation with her, how is what you said even possible?
Otamamon 2 years ago 3

Many people fall in love without knowing each other that well or having many conversations. Just because you think it's not logical doesn't mean it's not true love.
moonlight9283 2 years ago
They become attracted to each other without knowing each other well, but it doesn't become more than that until they figure out who they are and what they love. If they don't learn what that person is actually like, it's like they love a body without a personality. Learning about their personality is vital before you can love a person for who they are, don't you think?
Otamamon 2 years ago 12
But why does Edward love Bella in the first place? The only logical assumptions are: 1. She smells nice and 2. He can't read her mind.
Wth?

I'd like to note that I actually enjoyed Edwards psychotic behaviour (the stalking, the disrepecting of Bella's wishes) and I was really disappointed that it wasn't further explored as to why he did the things he did. To me it sort of compensated for the lack of.... Blood drinking and killing and typical vampire stuff.

I would like Edward more if he was a darker character and people didn't see him as perfect so much (you don't think he's perfect and I agree). I hate Bella too. I just hate Edward more.
MelinaPendulum 2 years ago
Abuse does not have to be physical.
He isolates her and controls her. He dragged her into his car in Twilight. That's False Imprisonment and Kidnapping.
He tears out Bella's engine to keep her from seeing Jacob. That'd be destruction of property, I think.
Phoenixangelgal 2 years ago

extremetwihard1 8 months ago
@extremetwihard1 He's worried by stalking her and ripping out the engine of her car, I'd say that's pretty controlling
devilshomie 7 months ago
@extremetwihard1 A little prone to overreactions like controlling every aspect of her life, bullying her into things she doesn't want, insulting her, and brutally raping her. :)
Just because you adore someone doesn't mean you're not abusing them.

XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
5)-He breaks up with Bella forcing her to try and forget about him
-Removes her engine to stop her from seeing jake
-BD scene with Jacob
You see it may not seem like a big deal because its a birthday party, but the fact that he can not even do that small thing shows how little he cares for her opinion.
Example, I hate diamonds so if my bf got me a diamond, even though its beautiful, he should know me and know that I don't like them. lol

yes, because WEREWOLVES ARE THE ENEMIES ( until eclipse), so he is PROTECTING bella again and she loves him for it..until he leaves her. he never calls bella weak, he just says that compared to him (he can life a 500tonne car) she is weak.
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
Edward is a mindreader. He knows the shifters would never hurt Bella. He is just jealous. If anything Jasper is more dangerous to Bella than the shifters.
"Fragile little human" =weak

and what's wrong with that? he only said fragile little human on a deleted scene and it wasnt in the movie so that's irrelevant. he never said that in the books. yes, jasper is dangerous , and so is his family that's why he spent most of twilight trying to convince bella to stay away from him.
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
He calls her fragile is different ways: saying she can't handle herself and all those kinds of things are the same as calling her weak. She just accepts that. She soulds like a broken woman.
Exactly, so how is it logical to keep her away from the shifters.

and fourthly- they are IN LOVE which just takes away any flaws that he has if you get what i mean. like she doesnt care that he protects her in a wierd way, because she doesnt want to live without him. fifth-in New Moon, he leaves Bella because he is worried that he is endangering her, once again he is PROTECTING her and he takes away the pictures so that it is easier for her to forget him.

4) Sorry to get loud but NOOOOO
Love does not excuse you! I'm sorry love is not a reason to do bad things. Look at men who hit their wives and beat them and the wives who accept it because in their minds they are in love. That is not right.
5)He doesn't have the right to take something that is important to her just because HE thinks it'll make things easier

yes but it's not in her MIND that they're in love, they are actually "unconditionally and irrevocably " inlove. and that's how stephenie meyer intended it to be, and she did it amazingly.
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
They are in love because SMeyer says so. Also it is in her mind, because its Bella's POV.
She did not do it amazingly.
Bella is OBSESSED with Edward. That is not healthy. She is willing to give up EVERYTHING about herself for a guy she has known for one year: family friends future children everything without any doubts...that is sick

it isn't just love. they NEED one another and it's also NOT REAL, so every body has different opinions on it. yes it's bella's POV, but midnight sun is edward's and he explains how much he loves bella
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
Edward also calls himself a talker in MS.
Also just because its not real doesn't mean the message is good. You should never NEED someone to live.
A person can not be your reason for living. Its not healthy. I'm speaking from experience.

ok and when has edward ever hit bella?! he saves her from danger all the time. and if you're gonna bring up new moon and when he broke her heart then you obviously have no idea why he did it. *sorry if i'm being rude :) * he did it because he was sure that he was endangering bella and even in breaking dawn, he never manages to forgive himself for hurting her like that AND if you recall, he tried to kill himself because of it!
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
Bella is willing to risk her life to be with Edward and she is aware of that, she has the scar from James to prove it, but as soon as Edward thinks its gonna be too difficult he leaves. That is not fair!
He doesn't have the right to make choices for Bella. She is her own person.
Suicide is not romantic.

he tried to kill himself because he thought that bella was dead (because of stupid Rosalie) so he DIDN'T WANT TO 'LIVE' WITHOUT HER.
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
Rosalie is best cullen girl. lol
I'm sorry but Romeo and Juliet romanticized suicide.
If someone you loves dies you live on because that's what the person would want. If the person wants you to die with them...they don't love you.
MelinaPendulum 2 years ago 2
:) ok i agree that rosalie is pretty awesome but what she did was low. romeo and juliet is a timeless love story, so you cant just bad mouth it because of the suicide thing
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
lol Romeo and Juliet isn't really a love story. Its satire. It's about what not to do...not what to do.
It's showing whats wrong with hot-blooded romances.

yes people shouldn't need other people. but this is a VAMPIRE we're talking about. edward loves bella and that's the only way i can put it. i see your point about how he controls her, but he's had a century of experience, he knows what he's doing, and what he's doing is PROTECTING bella and LOVING her unconditionally
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
He knows what he's doing because he's older?
Also, I've read other vampire love stories where the female does not get controled by the guy: True Blood, Vampire Kisses, Vampire Academy, Buffy, etc..
MelinaPendulum 2 years ago
protecting her is a good thing! third- he doesn't disrespect Bella, he is a vampire so he is just amazed that Bella loves him for who he his and if anything he has HUGE respect, love and adoration for her, as she has for him
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
3)Adoring her is not the same as respect. He always calls her foolish, weak and makes her seem like she can't do anything. He might find that 'cute' but in rl that is not cute...that is a stepford wife in the making
MelinaPendulum 2 years ago
second- every thing that edward does and that you claim to be "stalker-like and creepy" he does because he adores bella and he NEEDS to protect her.
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
2) You see the problem with that is that you are saying that because he loves her he as the right to do whatever he wants.
That's not true.
I mean there are husbands who stalk their wives and say its because they love them. They honestly in their minds think it is the right thing. That does not make it right

he never stalked her!! if it wasnt for him following her that night in twilght, then she would've been raped!
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
He watched Bella sleep at night BEFORE they were dating.
That's stalking.

ha your video is really funny btw!! but i have to disagree with you because i'm SUCH a hard core twihard fan...okay first- if you cant stand edward then why did you read all of the books?
XxxxxCluelessxxxxX 2 years ago
well before I respond back I want to say thanks for being civil
1) I read all the books because once I start a series I want to see how it will turn out.
MelinaPendulum 2 years ago
Well, I have to agree with you for the most part. I'm a bit neutral between Jacob and Edward, I don't really have and characters that annoy me or bug me.
Anyways, I guess what you have to remember is that he is a vampire, and going through emotional trauma loving a human...I guess. I can't say hes my favorite and I can't say I agree with everything he's done.
Overall I think you broke his character down very nicely :)
TwistedFreak 2 years ago 2
edward is like that charcter um like he loves her but at the same time he can not stand her! at first i did not understand edward but as i got into the books he went to a diffrent path. He is a diffrent person being a live for 110 yrs or less he probaly never loved some one as much as her i disagree but at the same time i think u will understand!
twilightfan44266 2 years ago
I think that a darker Edward would have been more interesting it would have added a natural complexity to their relationship. After all after Twilight their relationship loses that whole forbidden feel
MelinaPendulum 2 years ago
He's hot that's all that matters :)
just kidding.
But I still like him because he is so loving.

thats what it pisses me off ! Edward never respected bella's decisions.. and this is how the ideal boyfriend should be puh-lease!
