  • i have been looking at one of these in a 5 inch barrel at a local gunshop to replace my ruger mk3. i think that i m going to go with the shorte barrel length even to simplify the take down process.

  • @Sparks343

So far I have had 3 of this guns and like all rim fires you get certain issues which are most due to the ammo and not the gun.

I'm thinking of giving the ISSC M22 a change and see how it tacks up to the Walther. Thanks for the comment.

  • it seems 25yrds was the limit for shooting accurate. what do you shoot? it makes a good ankle gun with the ankle holster . I just dont like shooting it more then 20 yards. My group is about 2-5" at 15- 20 yrds...This gun likes more like a 10 yard gun with a group of 1-2". even with a lazier. . its just so small! The gun is great I still think its makes a good boot gun more then anything. example "here Mr. this is where I hide my money" bam hahaha

  • @UpNorthLiving2011

I really like this little gun. Its definitely a fun plinker and how day when going to the range cost almost an arm and a leg due to the price of ammo it's very economical to shoot the P22 rather than the 45acp. As far as accuracy goes I just learned to shoot the gun where it naturally aims. I never adjusted the sight and standing from seven yards i can get some 1" groups.

I have never given it a defensive purpose but it fits well in the front pocket " here is my wallet" bam

  • I just got one for a heck of a deal with a muzzle break, suppressor "fake" red dot p22 style and 2 clips . I just shot about 250 rds today very fun no jams or miss loads but I had a couple of bullets that was hit but did not fire so I guess those bullets are crud. What I did notice is it is the hardiest gun to shoot. It has so much room for error with the rail sits. I tried have all 3 dots on the rail across in a row but it looks like the front dot needs to be above the rear 2

  • .22 cal ammo is the cheapest crap there is. The reality of the matter is that we don't know what ammo were they using, how long has it been on the shelf and all that crap. I was very wary about the reviews but I bought one. I have had so many more problems of a ruger mark II that I am happy to have purchased this gun. I want another one.

  • this gun is a very poorly made pistol. DO NOT BUT THIS PISTOL! read reviews their nothing but problems.

  • @burkdogg12 Have you ever had one? You cannot believe into all the bad-reviews you hear. If you haven't had one yourself, then don't make this accusations. I have bought 3 of these and all 3 have been nothing but good shooters.

They are finicky with what kind of ammo you use and even do that should not be a problem to modern firearms most 22lr bulk ammo is cheap and also shit. You have to spend money on the better 22lr ammo winchester, cci, and other quality brands.

  • @zaldivarbigboy i owened one for 4 years, it went back to smith and wesson 5 times in that time. they replaced every working part on this gun twice replaced barrel, and slide. it never worked well. 15-20% failer to fire rate. one thing that happened a few times is the safty would loosen and bounce on and off while shooting. i tried all types of ammo. i have a good size gun collection, shot my whole life and did some time in the marines, i know how a weapon should operate.

  • @zaldivarbigboy if it works well for you thats great, your one of the lucky ones.

  • thanks think im gonna get this as my first gun, cuz its a cheaper quality gun from what i have been reading and seeing and also it will be cheaper to shoot

  • @icasemyiphone23 you will not be disappointed. just one tip. buy a used one. and try to pay less than 325 used for it with box and papers. that way if you want to sell it in the future once you are ready to go into something bigger ie a 9mm you can get all the money you spent on it back. they well for 300-350 used all day long here in fl.

  • @icasemyiphone23 I bought on as my 1st handgun about 1-2 weeks ago and so far I am not disappointed at all. I have not had any problems so far and Im shooting the cheap ammo. Fits my hand like a glove (I have medium-small hands). Its also fun as hell to shoot. I also got the laser sight and it adds small but noticable weight to the front which I think makes it easier to shoot. Im no expert but so far I would recommend it.

  • @icasemyiphone23 the slide blew off and hit my friend in the face get a ruger lcp

  • @icasemyiphone23 the slide blew off and hit my friend in the face get a ruger lcp if u want a good cheap gun get a highpoint better and cheaper than the walther p22

  • @fishfrizbee if your looking for a cheap inexpensive but well made gun still there is a new gun in the market its the issc from austria and it looks like a glock and has a da/sa action. its supposed to be a very good plinker and its for sale at jgsales for only 199.99

  • Baby Steps!!!! Not bad for your first gun...... LOL

  • Great firearm review. I've been thinking about getting this pistol and now I'll be picking one up in a month. Great work!

  • The safety doesn't do anything to the firing pin. It rolls up and stops the hammer from hitting it. And the plug for the front sight is if you upgrade to the 5 inch barrel you move the sight up and plug the hole from the 3.5 inch barrel.

  • @wyelkdog thanks for the info. I didn't think about the fact the the compensator adds lenth of sight to the gun.

  • wow, u brought it 4 300 dolars, u can buy 1 for 20 at air splat

  • @qasem01ishalomaster its not an airsoft p22. it shoots real bullets. if they are still on sale for 20 at air splat let me know I'll buy 100 of them. LOL.

  • @zaldivarbigboy yeh they got silver airsoft 1s and there 20 bucks.

  • Good job on your video. I just bought one of these gun today. I shot a rental @ the range and really liked it. I will watch your ammo video too.

  • I have the same safety problem with my savage .17hmr. I think its on fire when it is on safe. It drives me nuts.

  • i get pissed by the small things:

its not 22mm, that would be as big as the thickness of about 1.5 of your thumbs.

its twenty two hundredths of an inch!

  • Over all, it was a very helpful review and I think I may purchase one. But the calliber is not .22 mm it is an American caliber meaning that .22 means .22 of an inch not mm.

  • if you still not sure on getting one look at my video response on this review its a better review and it goes over a few good points on owning one. and I fix the mm part too. lol.

  • @narstyness7 By smit an wesson, bery nice

  • GET YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER!!!

  • But the firearm is fun, I recomend the viridian green laser rather than the walther red dot laser, it is about two times the price but well worth the money.

  • It's not a clip, it's a magazine, cool video otherwise.

  • Hey, thanks for the time and effort. I am considering one of these for my collection. Looks like fun. Good work on your review.

  • the guns 22 cal not 22mm ... that would be a canon haha

  • i am definitely going to try to get one of those now, nice reveiw

  • its not a clip, its a magazine. clips are what m1-grands use. but nice review. just work on the terminology like its a .22 calibre not a 22 millimeter.

  • nice job. you touched on the most important aspects of the P 22......

  • I'd hate to be at the business end of 22 millimeter, but I think you mean .22 calibre.

  • nice intro. thank you.

  • guys lets stick to the guns and leave the politics behind gun comments only please.

  • Comment removed

  • I really feel you on that and to add more to it. I would be one of those to fight the goverment but really our rights have been taken away the day we gave goverment unlimited shooping power. The Second Amendment if our forefathers were to see what it has become they would imediatly declare war on a tirany and a goverment that opresses its people. the Second Amendment was writen in a time when the goverment had the same weapons free men had. so that we could go toe to toe with the military.

  • follow from above: but now all we have is politicians that say they will defend our right and like we all know all politicians are liers I don't care what they say they are only after the money and nothing else. if more money comes from the group that supports bans they change their minds in a hartbeat. I guess that what im traying to say is buy all the guns you can before the laws get worse cause when they do you wont even be allow to have one in your house like some places here in america are.

  • but what I mean is I don't want this posts to become political and in a few days I will probably delete a few of track messages like the one from gorillazproduction. 14yr old japanese boy who should not be making comments on politics yet. yours was allright cause you expressed your opinion but ket it on the subject. that is all I want lets talk guns while we can and when we can't lets still talk about them. "I'm ready for them to come and get my cans of Pineapple" Sean Blackwell. jajajaja.

  • I thank you for your understanding and I agree with you on all points. You make a great American and a great patriot. I will remove my post so I don't distract further from your good video review. Back on topic: Have you seen the 380 made by Walther...it is really comfortable and will run about 350.00. Albeit not as cheap and fun to shoot as the 22 you have there, but with the right rounds, it would make a great carry gun.

  • @zaldivarbigboy Do you recommend this for robbing banks? or should i get another gun?

    Joking

  • hahahaha

  • yea i say OBAMA YO MAMA OBAMA YO MAMA yea he is screwing up the country up big time

  • This is a great little pistol! I am going to use it for my carry gun for now also, in Montana there aren't any "gun control" issues that people seem to have anywhere else. By the way, a silencer for this gun can be had for about $90 online, I don't have one, but may get it some day, makes it quiet as a BB gun. Took the kids shooting the other day with 3 cheap pistols and this one, the Walther is the only one that didn't break, sad, but you get what you pay for.....

  • Great review!!!!....just got a p-22 a few days ago and I agree...WHAT A FAR OUT FUN WEAPON!!!!! cheap to shoot and totally reliable so far....THANKS AGAIN!!!!

  • So again I appologize.. My Bad...

  • no problem. thanks for watching.

  • # 8 YOU LIED! First you said it was your first gun review. Then you said to check your other reviews at the end.

NOW... MY BAD!! I sincerely appologize for the name calling. I know that you were just doing your thing and I jumped in with a "DUMB ASS" attitude. Honestly I felt really bad about my remarks. 6-7 to the face however if you think about it no matter the situation equals jail time. Self defence has huge limitations.

  • #4 You were actually "De-cocking the action when cycleing, not dry firing because the firing pin was not struck.

#5 The safety phisicially blocks the hammer from hitting the firing pin. The pin itself does not move.

#6 It's called a slide lock for a reason. If you feed the lock through the mag well you will damage the mag catch/release.

#7 Silencers are illegal to own unless you have a Federal tax stamp. Do you and 0099 even know what that is or how to qualify for one?..

  • Great review. Looking for my wife a carbon fiber pink one in the Tampa area right now.

  • You don't have to have a dry fire snap cap. just hold onto the hammer with your thumb, pull the trigger and move the hammer to the forward position. By the way push the safety on. The trigger can be pulled with you out damaging the firing mechanism (just make damn sure that the chamber is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction).

  • What a dumb ass.. It'a a .22 caliber. Not mil. Second of all, that safety he's talking about is called a de-cocker. As far as this D/A thinking it may be a safety weapon.. It would sill fire a round if it was, just no projectile. As far as a concealed carry weapon, it's useless. My kids BB gun shoots faster feet per second and penitrates deeper. Plain and simple.. It's a bunny or squirl killer, thats it!!

  • Your right thanks for watching my video and making a comment I understand it is a 22lr and not mil cause if it was mil it would be more of a artilery. but yeah I still think that a 22lr is more powerful than a fist and if you know how to shoot and how to put 6-7 in someones face at least it would stop an attack and as far as it being weaker than a BB gun come on lets be adults and make resonable comments and leve the bull shit home with your kids BB guns ok. Thanks once again.

  • I agree that the 22 has more power than a BB gun. I don't think that thethirions has ever shot a gun with powder behind the round being propelled out of the barrel. He is wrong about the 22 just being a bunny killer. There have been many people killed by this cal. unfortunately. There are soft tissues located on the head where this caliber could be lethal. The back of the head is way to dense for penetration while there are many areas of the front would be ideal.

  • Thanks for the comment brother. I understand what you mean about no having to use a snap cap on a gun that has an external hammer cause more than one person has told me to just put my finger and let the hammer hit it rather than the firering pin. also I believe that since the P22, when the safety is engage hids the firering pin out of the way in the slide and it lets you pull the triger and strike it also eliminates the need for a snap cap. Thanks once again.

  • Everyone seems to have an opinion. And everyone is entitled to one. I would just do a little more fact finding before make a video next time. A follow up of your review would be nice.

  • thethirions - you're the dumbass, first off, it's not a decocker you asswhipe, it's a safetly, if you use it as a decocker it'll wear out the parts. and you think a BB gun is more dangerous then a .22? Then why was the .22 historically used as an assassins caliber of choice? They used to use that type of gun to kill people because the bullet had enough energy to enter into a skull and not come out, it bounces arounds and destroys brainmatter. So next time you have a thought...just let it go

  • Mil. is short for military dumb ass. Artilery?..That funny shit man!!! A .22 is fine if you are a "assassin" That's it though. 6-7 in the face huh.. Seriously, you should not own a frearm. A .22 for a concealed gun is useless. Also you need to look at ballistics and whats available . You do the math dumbass.. 32 gr.@1200fps VS 48 gr. @1650 Really man grow up check you facts. Oh... For future reference.. Mil.Spec Stands for Military specifications. Do you understand what that implies?..

  • Why are you talking about mil spec, I never mentioned that once. If you're having trouble keeping up with what I'm trying to tell you, you can read over my comment again. I also never said it would be a great CCW, I just said it was dangerous. Why don't you mention your brilliant idea of a decocker on the pistol that doesn't exist huh? You don't even know how the firearm works and you're talking about facts? Thanks for all the useless knowledge on what we weren't even talking about.

  • 22 millimeter? Recoil must be hell !! LOL Keep yer finger off the trigger dude!

  • 2 ten round mags im getting one

  • man i just check on a pink p22 for my old lady today, and just for being pink it was 100 bucks more. but i now know where i can get 500 rounds for 20 bucks. ya, only 20 bucks!

  • yeager you could buy one in black and duracoat it pink

  • they have pink dura coat??

  • ya but its pink carbon fiber or should i say carbon fiber simulation. bought it new in box, pink carbon fiber with nickel slide, attached lazer and 500 rounds for just over 425$ a hell of a deal!!!

  • its a 22lr not a 22mm lol

  • hahaha i reckon

  • good job! I love mine.

  • Nice review

    i learned a lot

    Thanks dude

  • $10 for 300 rounds? It's like $5 dollars for every 50 rounds now. Thanks OBAMA!

Nice demo of the P22! Loved it. Very in depth. More detail then any other video on this gun. Great job! I'm getting mine tomorrow!

  • Does a brand new one come with that case its in?

  • mine did. and also came with 2 mags

  • I just shot 650 rounds through mine today only had 3 jams (minor) because of the ammo not the gun. I used 200 rounds CCI standard velocity then switch over to BLAZERS 40 grain and my gun just eat that ammo loved it!! Next to me at the rang here others plink..plink..plink and my P22 BANG BANG its so loud!!! lol.

  • they might be small but they pack a big punch. mine with the cci makes a big bang and a bigger flame out the fon't than my glock does.

  • does it give you slide bite

  • no it has a nice litle back arch to protec from that.

  • Good review. Is the P22 your only self defense weapon? I have a Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm and thought about Walther. How is the reliability so far?

  • well i like the Taurus PT100 but when i get my licence I will not go out without the walther p22 at all. Extreamly reliable so far. just have to use good quality ammo with it.

  • You know you can move on to another review when you hear "22 mm" from the reviewer describing the caliber of this weapon. Really? 22mm? LOL. Then... the show stopper for me was "Smith and Weston". Move on... maybe to a serious reviewer like "nutnfancy".

  • like you said. move on budy. I love notinfancy but his reviews are really long and most people don't have so much time. but like nothing fancy and I if you don't like it go make your own. and keep your negative comments to your self.

  • i know u meant, .22 caliber

    but u said "22mm"

thats big shit if it was 22mm haha

  • excellent review...looks like you covered everything...walther should pay you some royalties for your positive comments.

  • Also, im planning on getting a glock 19 or some type of 9mm, and ill make a video of it. Ill message you when I make a video of it. But, im using another youtube account of mine. my username for this is thegunboy123.

  • hey zaldivarbigboy, i have a suggestion of a glock you might want to check into. Its called a glock 19. Get it in the 3rd generation for about $500-$600. Its a 9mm firearm. If you deside to get one later please make a video of it.

  • as a matter of fact my friend who just joined the maries has one and i have shot it. its really nice and works flawlessly but has a bit more recoil than the 17 so it takes a bit longer to get back on targer when shooting in burst.

  • ya. but great defence againsed threats. But ya know. a glock is a glock. They are all great.

  • defenetly. and the good thing about the 19 is it makes for a great conseal weapon.

  • I know. that will be my conseal weapon. Go 9mm!

  • Nice review!! I was looking to buy the same guns. P22 and G17. Thanks for the help!

  • also to add to my previous comment, how much did you pay for this weapon? ive researched it and id say between $280-$355.

  • I actually bought it from a gunshow and paid 299.00 that was the cheapest at the show. it range at the show from 299-375 the shop i bought it from said it would go up in 09 and only come with one clip.

  • i found a PINK Carbon Fiber w/laser for 425$ And for an extra 20$ he would throw in 500 rounds!

  • dosent sound like a bad deal

  • jump on that shite!!!!

  • Hey man, nice video. I've checked out a bunch of reviews, And by that i mean at least 50. Yours beats all of them by 100%, thats saying alot. You have really convinced me to buy this firearm. -please respond

p.s i beg you to make another video of this firearm for me. Keep it up!

  • I cant wait to take it to the range and show you how much fun it its to shoot. Next time I go probably this comming monday I will record and post the video. Thnaks for the Great comments

  • Oh ya its been well known for years,,If you want a good knife or a watch look up a company called VICTORINOX (smooth runnins to ya bro)

  • Dude I just got one only mines a target model with the longer barrel and forward counter weight on it . So accurate its silly,,and fun as hell to shoot. We just blast clip after clip and tear shit up. It feals so damn good cuzz it's costing you PENNYs to shoot. The action on this gun is like a swiss watch aint it? (peace)

  • I would like to add. The video brightness and frame rate are very good. The audio level is good. There is a bit of noise though (hiss).

  • Pretty good review. But, you kept saying, "22 millimeter long rifle". That is incorrect. It's a .22 Long Rifle. The 22 (or more precisely .22) does not refer to millimeters. It refers to inches being 0.22 inches in diameter, also called 22 caliber. Look it up. google ".22 Long Rifle"
