  • Anybody know where I can find this movie.can't find it on no stores or on no website

  • LOOKS LIKE A GOOD MOVIE

  • damn I can't find this movie no where not on Netfilx on here stores where is it?

  • They could have done a better job getting the actors to resemble the actual people. The guy playing George has a voice too deep to match George's, and he's too thin. Jonathan's character should be a little taller and with a bigger afro.

  • We were extras in Cinques movie I was surprised to know tha George Jackson and his family lived on havencourt in East Oakland. Did you know that when Jonathan took over the courthouse the Black Panther were suppose to assist him but they never showed!!!

  • We were extras in Cinques movie I was surprised to know tha George Jackson and his family lived on havencourt in East Oakland.

  • by time they told the story, went right under the radar... Long live John & George Jackson !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! power to the people.

  • why did they play Marvin Gaye "Makes Me Wanna Holler"? now I wanna cry with this trailer playing that in the background... so much truth, loss, struggle...

  • wow this looks good! it was filmed in oakland too (the birthplace of the panther's).

  • Damn....i didnt know Gary Dourdan was in this movie!! I gotta find this flick now!!

  • My guess is that Comrade George truly believed in the Party and it's stance to uplift the Black people. The struggles continues.

  • @ Issa Chinn, with that said however, I do find it unfortunate that Comrade George "willed" his estate away to the Black Panther Party; and your Grandmother died without being properly provided for.,especially since Soledad Brother and Blood In My Eye continue to be sold around the world ( Btw, who's receiving royalites from these books? Elaine Brown? David Hillard?).

  • @ Issa Chinn, what exactly are you upset about? The fact that the movie distorted the truth (that's my issue) or that your family was not compensated for the use of your Uncle's life story? Whatever the case, I'm sorry for your pain and your lost.

  • "Why didn't they dig deeper into George's dealings with Fay Stender? Or the defense committee as a whole? Overall, I definitely feel that more research could've been done."

So Angela's relationship with George isn't a big deal and doesn't concern you, but the 'white' women do? Yeah, like most white women who fell in lust with Black radicals, white women were on George's jock big time.; which is probably why Hollyweird won't go there.

  • j all day

  • REALLY, how can blacks say black power and it not be a racist comment? If a white person said "White Power" it they would be a fucking racist cracker.

  • @pimpgolfguy say white power, white boy.. its only natural; fuck what somebody thinks of you. black power for blacks white power for whites. dont let no one program you

  • YEAH THIS IS A BAAAAAAD FLICK IT LOOKS LIKE...DID IT ALREADY COME OUT???/ I WAS NAMED AFTER BOTH BROTHERS...AND ONE OF THE MEN GEORGE JACKSON BONDED WITH IN SOLEDAD PRISON...FLEETA..MY FIRST THREE NAMES ARE FLEETA JONATHAN GEORGE...SO IM DEFINATELY DIGGIN THIS

  • BLACK POWER BROTHER

  • top film this, powerfull!

  • anyone want to chat

seen it yesterday! lets chat Oh

  • Why look up to a person like George Jackson? If this is your example of what a hero is then you are truly lost. How about Ghandi? Mother Theresa? Or anyone else who didn't have to use violence to send their message. Sure this is a violent world but if violence, hatred and racism do not stop with you then you are just perpetuating all those things.

  • Armalite on one hand, the olive branch on the another comrade.

  • Cause baby you gotta fight fire with fire you cant fight it with water. The violence used is no with hatred or with intentions of evil being its a revolution violence a violence that seeks freedom.

  • Fuck you bitch. You don't know shit about George Jackson. He was a powerful human so powerful that he was murdered by the California Department of Corrections.

  • It's funny I heard this story when I was a child. My mother would tell me and my brother about our cousins George & Johnathan Jackson..she had newspaper articles on them, had one of Georges books he wrote while in prison..I would brag to all my friends and tell them about my cousins..we share the same blood..I am proud to be a Jackson..I am proud of my cousins and what they accomplished..what believed..what they didn't believe in and taking the steps they thought neccessary to be heard much love

  • You really related to the Great George and Jonathan Jackson? Wow. I love them. I've read his books several times.

  • j;lfgoghoai

  • wishing you much success!

  • Powerful movie. I felt stronger after watching it. Racism, death, hatred ... it's still all over the world in many forms. My way is to make sure i don't harbour any negativity towards anyone or anything thus perputuating the cycle of violence in the world including to animals. As many wise leaders also obstained from eating dead flesh. Peace is possible if everyone quits worrying about other people and just worry about yourself. God Bless George Jackson and all freedom fighters..

  • You racist people please stop leaving ignorant comments and wise up were all humans. How are you going to insult the BGF when majority of SoCal prison gangs are racist themselves?

  • That's real my Brother.I'm a young soldier of The Panther party and BGF. Soledad Brotha is the Truth.I just did 6 years in prison and im scarred for life. All i can think of is "Killa Nigga,Rob a nigga,Drug deala bang bang".But films like this,Classified X,Malcolm X,And Sweetback let me know,it wasn't all in Vain.I read this book over ten times, and It changed my life.Made me more in tune with who i am,and who the Enemy really is.The enemy is Greed,Envy and Jealousy. The "Man's plan" worked perfct

  • whats da name of da song when they start fighting da garuds

  • Recall: All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix... Jesus... youngster! ;->

  • SMELLY SPIC

  • STUPID PUTO CHANGO

  • FUCJ YOU WETBACK FAGGOT

  • FUCK THE Black Guerrilla Family FUCKING MONKEYS NIGGER KILLER ALL MUTHAFUCKING DAY

    LA eMe CONTROLA TODO

  • FUK U

  • fk you hairy ugly spic thats why all u look like apes and u guys are short fkin beaner

  • oh and he really wasnt part of the black panther party before he did the robbery he jus knew somebody from it

so he told them to try and free him

  • this was my uncle

    my real uncle

  • How?

  • If this is you real Uncle then we would be related...because he is my cousin...

  • Also, is anyone here close (or know of) anyone that knew George Jackson/came across him at all? I'm jut curious if his actual personality was a deeply political as written in his book and spoken publicly by 85% of the former sixties leftists about him, or are the remaining people correct in saying that he was nothing more than a con/criminal??

  • I most definitely agree, that a much more in depth film regarding George's life really needs to be brought to film..if only more people were interested, or someone with the financial backing would step up and the movie could get major distribution. The entire story of his extremely complicated relationship with Huey Newton, how is sister denounced the Black Panthers after he died, everything, needs to be told. Also, the same goes for Huey Newton's life story as far as being told.

  • Whats the song called at 2:01????

I know alot of people might get a lil tired of that question on every video but for real what is it??? anybody know???

  • "All Along the Watchtower", Jimi Hendrix version.

  • Thanks alot SpeedyTase, shoulda known it was Hendrix, he was a genius with that guitar sound. Anyways thanx alot man I really appreciate u responding.

  • It was Bob Dylan's song. Jimi covered it, though. Typical African-American thievery.

  • Lol naw I dont agree with that part bro, many of the rock and roll songs from back in the day were written and sang by blacks but then sang by whites who got credited with the songs instead since they sounded better than the blacks singing them...but anyways good song tho nd thanx.

  • Too bad the songs werent copywritten back then.

  • True.

  • 1st the movie wasn't really about Field Marshal George Jackson....2nd the movie implied alot of Hollywood versions, that didn't necessarily happen! They implied that Lumuba was an agent. Certain things I didn't dig! We have 2 look, @ The Movement as sacred and we can't allow Hollywood 2 fuck it up! But, positive move was that SOME OF F.M. JACKSON TRUTHS WAS 2 BRING SOME AWARENESS..The actor that played him didn't do a bad job of playing him!

  • The "watered-down Hollywood touch" can definitely ruin the true essence of one's legacy; especially if it's based on someone who neither embraced the superficiality nor the ultimate transparency of that world. But what's truly needed is a film in which chronicles his life (in the sense of what Spike Lee did with the Malcolm X bio-film) without inserting situations in which never occurred, and without false details. But oh yeah, Gary Dourdan definitely caught my attention! LOL!

  • spike lee watered down malcolm x, are you kidding me, he even fabricated who introduced him to the n.o.i.

  • I'm fully aware of the fabrications in "Malcolm X" which I why I mentioned:

"without inserting situations in which never occurred, and without false details".

I referenced it in the sense of it having chronicled childhood through adulthood, and not simply beginning at the point where he had already made the transformation. But how about releasing a George Jackson biopic in which digs deeper into his persona as a child and as a teenager.

  • Not only that, it would be interesting if it were to display what he was like when he first started serving his sentence. He certainly wasn't born a revolutionary, and he did his dirt on the inside as well. However, it would be interesting to see what led to him embracing such revolutionary views.

  • You, sir/madame, are so fucking correct. These guys were the lowest of the low, big pieces of shits in the world. They found glamour in being a criminal that they have no idea how to behave like regular human beings.

Back the badge and support the men and women in green for CDCR!

  • Long live the spirit of George Jackson, Malcolm X, Huey P. Newton, Khallid Muhammad and all Black Revolutionary Liberation Warriors. And long live my teacher and our Black POwer Warrior General, Dr. Alli Muhammad, who carries that spirit of George Jackson here and now. Black Power.

  • Man ..."power to the People"

    Thats true... thats true Brothers..

  • so tru her judgement is coming and so is yours aren't you so lucky we don't have a say in what that will be so glad we don't judge you as you so readily judge others

  • Which reminds me, there was another film released years before this one.

  • While I'm grateful that a film with George in mind has finally been released, I'm still awaiting an actual biographical film. And I mean with a timeline dating back to his childhood in Chicago to his death in San Quentin Prison in California. I'm interested in seeing his life in different stages, not simply during the last year of his life.

  • I will see you go out like a bitch, real soon. keep talkin, bitch.

  • Screw you.

  • @Chazz00 I agree. I don't feel the writers, actors, producers were thoroughly invested in this film. Much more reasearch should have been done. The guy playing George doesn't look like him. His voice is too deep, and he's not big enough.

  • Oh great, another movie portraying piece of shit criminals as heroes.

This is obviously not an accurate and unbiased movie, being the BGF produced it.

  • BGF. Black Gorilla Family.

  • Considering the fact you're all over this comment space only proves that George is etched in on your brain, regardless of how much disdain you have for him. Hilarious! LOL!

  • I'm only interested in the safety of staff and guards in prison. Fuck the rest. They screwed themselves over.

  • TO ME THE GREATEST LOVE STORY NEVER TOLD WAS THAT OF COMRAD GEORGE JACKSON AND QUEEN WARRIOR ANGELA DAVIS. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE MOVIE EXISTED UNTIL JUST NOW SO I MUST SEE IT. I SAW A LOVE SCENE WITH GARY DOURDAN AND AN ACTRESS I ASSUME IS PLAYING ANGELA DAVIS WHICH HAS ME THINKING THAT THEY USED SOME CREATIVE LICENSE B/C SHE WROTE THAT THEY NEVER CONSIMATED THEIR RELTAIONSHIP. LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE GOOD THOUGH AND i HAVE AN INSANE LOVE AFFAIR OF THE MIND GOING ON WITH GARY DOURDAN.

  • Which counts as one of the flaws in the film. I guess we're expected to believe that some kind of "storybook romance" was going on between Angela and George. The individuals involved want it to be viewed as such, but only those who are unaware would believe it. Why didn't they dig deeper into George's dealings with Fay Stender? Or the defense committee as a whole? Overall, I definitely feel that more research could've been done.

  • Those involved in this film simply jumped on the bandwagon of having romanticized the involvement between the two. Could it have been an actual relationship considering the main method of correspondence was though snail mail? That doesn't equate to having known each other on a personal-level. It's easy to believe that they did according to the "Power Couple" label, but it's difficult to believe his involvement with Fay Stender as well as some of his female admirers.

  • George Jackson was my hero and the finest specimen of a mature revolutionary fighter in a vanguard position. He became a big threat to the U.S. Empire with his intelligence, example and leadership even though he was locked in a cage, in a prison within a prison within a prison! Read Blood In My Eye!

    +Peta-de-Aztlan+

  • Beautiful man, courageous brotha,"This is it gentlemen, the dragon is loose." Soledad Brother.

  • Ross u have no idea wat your talking about george jackson is a legend

  • Goerge Jackson was a piece of shit gangbanging thug that should have been killed alot sooner than he did. He was not a hero or martyr by any means. This movie is so biased that i wouldn't be surprised if it was funded by the BGF.

  • Coming out on DVD Feb12th preorder online at Amazon or check your retail stores out.

  • Much love to George Jackson cant wait for this to come out, should have known it would have been prolonged. George Jackson killed those racist piece of shit pigs in prison cause they were responsible in part for the murder of some blacks behind the walls thats the true fucking story.

  • He was angry regarding the fact that prisoners, no matter what race and who shared his views and beliefs (even Allan Mancino, who happens to be white, had his back), were being abused to no end and majority of the time without vaild reason. But I honestly believe Jonathan's death was the last draw for him. Although he mentioned that he was proud of him and also mentioned that he hadn't shed a tear, he actually felt the pain of his loss.

  • And there's another one. I rest my case. LOL!

  • you are a piece of shit and you better what your fuckin mouth. BLACK POWER

    A.A.D.F.

  • i just went and ordered this book called bad written by the bodyguard of F.M. George Jackson. I will let you know how that book turns out...

  • whens this shit cummin out been like a year NOW

  • If you're a decendant of Kings, you're a blessed people, ones who taught all human kind civilazion. BE PROUD!!!!

  • Tell the real story, george jackson was a cop killing murdering piece of shit!!

  • Too true, cdcguard! The real story was that Jackson was locked up as a teen ager because of multiple crimes before the age of 18. After that he went to CSP San Quentin. From there he became a piece of shit charasmatic leader for the Black Panthers and founded the BGF. His scumbag lawyer brought in a gun that Jackson hid in his afro. The gun was used to kill corrections officers. Fuck George Jackson!!!

  • LOL yes.. he got that huge gun past23 strip searches.. in his 2 inch afro. and then tried to jump a 30 foot concrete wall..

say what you will about what the BGF turned into. the official story of his death is bullshit!

  • Well, leadchips, that's a little conflicted. His lawyer bought the gun in and Jackson did have it to use. But any black guy who broke the law should be released for any reason. Then again, FUCK HIM!

  • GEOGRE JACKSON killed trhose rascist SOB and i would have done the same

  • Over all of his revolutionary rhetoric and well-written literature, it's interesting how he had difficultly in conveying, articulating, and emphasizing

his opinions in a couple of audio interviews. In his last audio interview all he basically did was ramble, and drift so far from certain subjects that although the reporter would repeat some of his queztions two or even three times, he continued rambling. And regarding the participation of women in the revolution, his view was narrow.

  • Hell, I love my blacks, but i'm still voting for Ron Paul. fuck obama, he cares not for our peril, and knows not how to see to it that we make it out of this struggle. ron paul on the other hand will definitely make sure we have self determination. That's all we've been asking for.

  • Slavery is older than race or nationality. Peasants in Europe were NOT free! Any man financial debt can be a slave. READ a book! Or watch Braveheart. Racism is a bigger problem.

  • rip brotha

  • Islam started Slavery!Rich Mexican's had Slave's.Black American's,Are free,We Have Doctor's,Lawyer's,judge's,Teacher's,Police officer's,General's,Mayor's,..ETC!

  • Slavery is older than ignorance. Its just that (judging by your comment) Ignorance has survived longer. You shouldn't be so quick to display it.

  • Islam started Slavery, what you in elementry school surely you dont know about the jews 3000yrs ago who were slaves of the egyptians long before christianty and islam. educate your self little homie.

  • The Jackson brothers burn in hell next to Tim McVeigh.

  • ya every one but Jermaine Jackson lol

  • alot of white people should go to hell because they are the number one reason why we face shit in the world. Slavery, Invasions, Torture, Rape, Murder, the list goes on.

  • When Europeans were pushed out of Africa you lost the right to blame us for everything you do to eachother. The same goes for America's drug problem. Take some responcibility.

As for slavery, my people came here in 1900, fleeing starvation in Sicily and Ireland.

Oh, and Black slave traders were essential to the slave trade.

  • Yeah stop blaming and hating eachother. Respect all persons. White people had hard times too. Africans sold slaves too.

  • you know they are not gonna tell the story right he was in prison most of his life they should take it from there from the formation of BGF to the fights with EME but they would make it more viewer friendly they will leave out of the good stuff this could only be made by spike lee to give its true effect cause he wouldn't leave anything out even if it took going independent.......i will watch the movie but it won't be made how it should be

  • WOW!!! I can't wait for that! I can't wait for more people to know this story!

  • Cant wait till it comes out. Much love for Comrade George and Johnathan Jackson true revolutionist.

  • when is this joint coming out? holla!

  • I am Askari Koramonte from the revolutionary organization Black Riders Liberation Party when does this movie come out?

  • when in the hell does this come out? anyone got any more info on the release date?

    i honestly can't wait, haha

  • s t r e e t - l i f e . f o r u m n . n e t

  • I know a lot abotu the BGF and the Panthers this movie seems interesting

  • Only when black and hispanic people unite with the progressive white working class for a more equitable society, can we have a shot at defeating racism. Comrade George knew that, Paul Robeson knew that, MLK knew that, Malcolm X knew that, Angela Davis knows that and even Thomas Paine from 1791 knew that!

  • if they all knew it, and died without progress than surely you must understand it is all for nought. The truth is, we were never meant to fully integrate. these are satan's spawn and some of them even openly claim to worship satan. the truth is, we never were, should be, or will be 'brothers'. they've developed race specific bioweapons and created aids. go to truthnews dot us and my page frnnkeducation

  • If there is such a thing as a 'hero' then George Jackson is easily an American hero. His brutal indeterminate sentence handed down for being the driver/lookout in an armed robbery would have crushed most people. Instead he made an invaluble contribution to the struggle for equality in America and would have made an even bigger one outside prison if he had been allowed to leave. The ruling elite in America could not allow it.

  • This scum bag should have been killed earlier than when he was. What a shame in todays world that scum of the earth is seen as a hero to some.

  • anybody responsible for killing whites is good in my book.

  • Sick bastard. Black racists are just as bad as white racists. I hope you need a white doctor one day. Idiot.

  • that's why I don't go to hospitals. If I do, just shoot me in the head. I hold me responsibility to my people higher than any form of karma you feel. shoot me in the head if i had to go to a white doctor to even take care of a loose toenail to a ripped off arm.

  • All of you need to chill out and watch some quality black entertainment at my page... We all got African blood in us. All that Dominican, Puerto Rican, African American shit is cultural, not racial.

  • to the family of george he is a hero there's alot of things changed in the town(oakland) behind couragous brothers like him black power forever

  • I hope this movie does not portray Jackson as a hero because he was not. He was still a criminal ever since he was a child and had nothing but time on his mind while incarcerated. Why didn't he do positive things while in society? Why don't directors make money, I 'm sorry movies, depicting african american's who cast a positive light on our culture and society instead of making a convict a role model.

  • My name is Issa and I am the niece of George and Jonathon Jackson. My mother and my aunts are ALIVE also along with my cousin, Jonathon Jr. the son of Jonathon. It is sad that my grandmother, Georgia Jackson died 2 yrs ago, renting a 2 bedroom shack in the back of an alley in Pasadena, Calif. while people are making MONEY off of my uncles!! hurting THANK THE LORD that my grandmother didn't hear about this!! I think and know that the FAMILY DESERVES JUSTICE!!! NOT PEOPLE WHO WANT CREDIBILITY!!!

  • It was Comrade George who stated, "The world will not stop, stagnate or die for any one man's/woman's privilege. I embrace you and yours through your lineage. George Jackson was a member of the Black Guerilla Family. As such he became the Gaidi. That combatant who armed with the consciousness of the Black underclass in this country, he waged struggle in te service of New Afrikan People, politically, socially, culturally and militarily under the banner of that Party.

  • cont: So many brothers as himself continue to strive for impecability, never giving up, never giving in. George was not the only one.George was and is apart of our historical experience, one that his instant siblings cannot claim exclusively, as so many other mothers and brothers and sisters know the very same suffering.

  • Black August which was first conceptualized six (6) years after the Comrade's death to commemorate the deaths of all the fire-breathing dragons of this formation whom had also sacraficed their lives in struggle for self-liberation/self-determination.

  • cont: This was the family George and thousands of others chose. Today, there is the first visual that personifies in a real way that history, which happens to encompass a period in the lives of the Soledad Brothers, of which there were three (3) and not only your uncle (all respect due). The brothers W.L. Knowlen (who first brought George into the BGF), and loss his life in Soledad on January 13, 1970, along with Comrades, Juggs Miller, and Cleveland Edwards.

  • cont: Comrade George, Fleeta Drumgo, and John Clucheete were charged in a case which would gain world wide acclaim and become known as the Soledad Brothers. Is it your instant position that you and your family would rather the world be still denied the real story after almost 40 years wherein none of you have shared the history of our struggle, and discredit the brothers of George Jackson's formation who have put this story together for the world to add to their consciousness?

  • cont: Or, let it lay dormant as the omnipotent administrators of disinformation and propaganda would have it. Do you have any idea what putting this story out has caused/cost any and everyone involved? Or, finally, is this of little importance, as it seems you are only concerned with the monetary aspect.

  • continued: Should you be paid for a story we, me, many have lived, and continue to live, while your only connection seems to be your claim to some fame you know nothing of. Is this not just what them white folks want to see of you. There must never be dissension among the ranks! Who are you working with?

    Weusi Joka Darassa

  • I am comrade Askari Koramonte who are you? i feel your poltical point about them disclosing our history. Are you a revolutionary?

    2:babagitu

  • anybody know when this movie is dropping?

  • Its sad that the Black Gurilla Family will never be as powerful as they were in the 70's and 80's.

  • Yea, black people used to run shit back in the days. Now they all stunnin in musicvideoes makin a fool outta them self, instead of bringing the Black power / black panther party back!

  • And as for slavery, I can't live my life and teach my children to make excuses because their ancestors were enslaved. I was taught to not make excuses for the hardships in my life or the cards I was dealt. I see illegal immigrants here in Arizona working in 115* heat, 12 hours a day making horrible wages. And they dont complain about their lot in life. They simply work hard to overcome it. I'm proud to be black, a descendant of people who overcame adversity. No excuses.

  • Until someone can create a better justice system, then let me know. Anything that man (white, black, or PR) touches will be tainted so a perfect one isn't gonna occur. But every man has a choice in this world to do the right/wrong thing. And dont blame the justice system because Jackson made the choice to KILL PEOPLE and spawn a murderous organization. Get real people.
