The vet, from seeing the video, diagnosed her with RAO (well, the vet said COPD, formerly called heaves, but it is now called RAO). Without taking them in for tests, which is quite expensive, there is no way to be sure. What we do know is by dunking her hay in water before we feed it to her, the coughing went away completely, so it is pointless spending thousands of dollars in vet bills when we can just wet her hay. It's hard when it gets down to 10 degrees F, but she is worth it.

seems almost like allergies to the dust in the hay. Hope she is doing better! She is a beautiful horse!
