iPhone Programming - Drag an Image Around the Screen

How can you limit the drag to one direction only. Say left or right or up or down

Nice....i got just one problem, I dont want to drag my image around the whole screen, so i made the view half the screen. The only problem is that when i try to drag th image to the other half of the screen, the app crashes. I dont want the user to be able to drag it to ther other half screen, just limit to the half screen where the view is. what should i do?
