  • Thats casue MW used to be MECHWARRIOR...and nothing else. Long live the MECHWARRIORS!

  • Who's putting down Clan Wolf? The only victors of Tukyid and who have the largest holdings in the IS? Please... and you you Davion and Steiner butt humpers, the total clan population is under a billion, not all the clans participated in the invasion, the biggest one sure didnt, they fought amongst each other and the IS, plus the IS has a 100 to 1 manufactoring and population advantage... so i think the clans did pretty good

  • like this if you remember this vid from the game

I remember this vid from the game

  • Same here

  • I typed MW3 ending and this came up.

  • @Brokkolesz

    Is that bad?

  • I'm a Fan of both Mechwarrior and Gundam and I saw the older Gundam shows. Although I admit....I'm a Mechwarrior at Heart and a Gundam pilot second. With Mechwarrior there is a sense of urgency. A sense of dread. and besides.....You don't get briefings from an awesome guy like the MFB commander. Plus Dominc Paine was Always my fave. And to me....Allen Matilla was always invisioned with a beard and a flask of good whiskey in the cockpit ^-^

  • @baker187

Except mechwarrior wouldn't be here with out Gundam. There's mechs in Battletech who's roots are firmly dug in to Gundam, taken from a show which copied Gundam heavily. Gundam began the concept of war fought by giant robots. You youngin's don't know shit these days but love to talk, don'tcha? You've probably only ever seen Gundam SEED, and never touched MS IGLOO or MS IGLOO 2, or 08th MS Team or Gundam 0080. If you've seen those and still said that, then you're an even bigger idiot.

  • @onigojira LOL im 28 and still now more about gundam they baker187 Im huge Gundam fan seen ever gundam series but the SD series that came out..I can't say much about the New Series come out Gundam Age Just have to what for it to come out, What i can;t what for is Episode 4,5,6 of Gundam Unicorn

  • I remember using my Microsoft Sidewinder Steering Wheel's pedals to accelerate and decelerate and my joystick to move the arms and torso, as well as shooting. I felt like a fucking badass.

  • Mechwarrior 2 was the most fun but Mechwarrior 3 captured the feel of the Mechwarrior/battletech universe and made you feel like you were living the experience.

  • Lol what a shitty ending. Faggot names too lawl.

  • @TheModCon Fuck off back to you arse-fucked herlin riley solo then. That's right - you're the one who actually listens to gay shit!

  • @harkeill Lawl. Yeh, cause an amazing drummer is actually gay shit. Usoundbutthurtbro. The fact that you do fuck all with your life playing faggot games (atleast play decent games -.-) isn't my problem. But, I take it upon myself to piss you off when I fancy it lawl

  • @TheModCon Whatever you say,I have more important things to do than argue with kids.

    Ignored.

  • @harkeill Lawl playing this shitty game no doubt ^^

  • @TheModCon I guess it can be hard to appreciate a game that is older than you.

  • @adamant356 >>Implying I don't play games older than this

  • @TheModCon But you spend your time watching videos of games this old?

  • @Sakakrio >>Implying watching one video means I watch multiple. And if I do, what does it matter? Yeh I watch vids of games older this, and I will add, ones that well and truly kick this shit of the video games map. Mechwarrior? Who the fuck cares about it?. We want decent games yes? Hence the reason this will never be remembered as a great video game.

  • @TheModCon >>Implying I give a damn about what you think? Mechwarrior 3 was one of my first games, and whatever you say isn't going to change my view on it.

  • @adamant356 >>Implying I think you do. Im not trying to change your view. The fact you won't change your view, ever, is amusing in itself ^^

  • @harkeill Lol and seriously dude. Read the fucking comments, and you're calling music faggotry?

  • "They are the true Mechwarriors." thats what you think CLANNERS FTW

  • @ElWolf70 Ahem, remember what happened at Luthien and Tukayyid? The former ilKhan was right, you know.

  • @blackyoshi1230 Who are they?

  • @ElWolf70 Luthien was a place during the Clan invasion when both Smoke Jaguar and Nova Cat were humiliated. Tukayyid was the proxy world where the ComGuards pushed back the six invading Clans (the terms were if Clans take the Tukayyid cities, they can take Terra. If ComStar won, then there would be a truce between the Inner Sphere and Clan). Ghost Bear won one, Jade Falcon had a draw, and Wolf won both. Anyone who has played MechWarrior 2 knows of the Battle of Tukayyid and the Refusal War.

  • @blackyoshi1230 Just pointing out that the Jade Falcon battle was only declared a draw because of the amount of damage they managed to inflict on the ComStar forces, not because they managed to take either of their objective cities (although they came close to capturing Olalla)

  • @Gallowell Yeah, and Aidan Pryde risked his life to make sure the Falcons retreat as safely as possible. Smoke Jaguar and Nova Cat got really beat up. Steel Viper had the least casualties, and the Diamond Sharks got wiped out. Ghost Bear took Spanac (not enough Mechs to take Luk), and Wolf obviously won (well, they ignored Clan combat rules and beat the ComGuards at their own game with energy weapons, and they had Natasha and Phelan, two warriors who studied Inner Sphere tactics).

  • @blackyoshi1230 OOOOOOOOOOOH sorry i never have played mechwarrior 2 but i want to :(

  • @ElWolf70 Agree! That is Inner Sphere propaganda! Just wait...

  • mechwarrior 3 was closer to simulation than the arcade-style of mechwarrior 2.

MW4 tried to mix 2 and 3 in one game, and totally failed IMO.

i would go with MW3 FTW!

  • where is mech warrior 4?????

  • LOOK PEOPLE.Gundam and Mechwarrior have there ups and downs.Put then together, you get ARMORED CORE.

  • I dont get why people argue about MechWarrior and Gundam. You put then together, you get...ARMORED CORE.......

  • @TheNOURMOM

Wrong. Mechwarrior is badass and unfeeling. Gundams are for sissy teenage boys and girls with eyes too big for their faces. Armored Core is simply taking away from the perfection that is Mechwarrior.

  • @Corrust Honestly,ive never played Mechwarrior XD

  • @TheNOURMOM You've missed out on one of the best gaming experiences in your life

  • 0:36 Why was this the only with hands in the game?

  • Gee, Tranquility and Earth look so much alike!

  • im sorry but the clan is the best in my opinion

  • Is the Port Arthur mentioned in the vid the same one we took down in Mechcommander?

  • @joshkill01 yeah :)

  • @adamant356 Thnx man! That clears up, like, 3 years of wondering.

  • @joshkill01 Yes, its the same planet

  • @coolguyii13579 Thnx alot. I've been wondering.

  • Nice one, Darmonte. Great end sequence for one of the greatest computer games of all time.

  • i hope they make more games where u can switch between in the pilot seat and third person for those who like both games like me

  • @xXDruarkXx I never understood why people play in 3rd person. To pilot a 'Mech and fight on the battlefield, one would think the player would want to be in the 'Mech as much as possible, experiencing what a real 'Mech battle could be - not some OOB-hover-over-your-fucking-'mech-shoot'em-game.

  • @Gallowell but thats why it should be u can switch because some poeple like TPS and some like FPS

  • @xXDruarkXx Perhaps. But to me, you're not really a fan or true pilot when you play in 3PS.

  • @Gallowell well i dont mind which but i do actaully prefer FPS but im not saying i hate TPS

  • It was one sided from the start. The clans lost their war of conquest before it begun

This isn't just luck. This is backed by literal, real life history. The strategy of utter destruction and total war, literal scorched earth, was first enacted en masse with a strategically mobilized armed force by William Tecumseh Sherman. Such tactics of destroying absolutely *everything* the enemy could use is utterly devastating. Absolutely no mercy. This is war kids. It ain't a game.

  • This is the culmination of the clans childish practices and views of war. Utter embarrassment. Four commandos rage all over a planet alone as they meet up with one another, essentially guaranteeing the end of a clan. If one mech pilot supported by only a couple MFBs was able to wage a slow yet unstoppable guerilla war against the last of the jags, what hope could those incompetent fools possible have against four hardened vets driven by sheer determination and the desire to win?

  • Haha! Take it, Clanners!

  • I just realized that the Port Arthur he's talking about is the same Port Arthur you invade in MechCommander. I never really made that connection, hah!

  • still own all the games :D

  • @baker187 Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is perhaps the best of the Gundam saga.

  • @Gallowell yet universally panned, and derided...

  • this was a great game, i would play it over again but i cant run it on windows 7 unfortunately

  • That madcat at 1:10 looks awesome.

  • where is house steiner i have not heard of any of them?

  • @Jabob75 Because they were too busy getting geared up for a civil war as soon as the clans were gone. A couple of years after the Great Refusal, House Steiner has the Davion Archon assassinated and launches an attack on Davion forces across the Inner Sphere. As a result, the Star League collapses and its back to bussiness as usual, as it was before the Clan invasion, only now they have more powerful mechs and weapons to do it with

  • SCREW YOU INNER SPHERE DOGS!!

  • @HunterZeroModding

    Victor was here

    Jade Falcon are losers.

  • @LgndryThndr

That they are! CLAN WOLF ALL THE WAY!!

  • @HunterZeroModding

lol how's that invasion coming along?

  • @LgndryThndr

    Lol, just GRAND!

  • @HunterZeroModding I never understood why anyone could like Clan Wolf. They show how weak they are compared to the others when they were divived by Phelan Kell and the rest were Absorbed into Jade Falcon (only to be released later out of sympathy by Khan Pryde).

Yep, Wolf really are the best Clan! (sarcasm)

  • @HunterZeroModding I doubt you would last 10 minutes in a Clan. Remember, you are a freebirth and think of how most Clans treat freeborns. And think of their rigid lifestyle structure. No, you would not last very long as part of any Clan.

  • @HunterZeroModding

    "Die -- Clanner! "

  • @mwhighlander

We will see who gets to kill whom, place your bidding.

  • this game was so awesome

  • I remember playing this on my old mac with window97 played clean

  • My computer can't play this game past the seventh mission.

    =( sad face

  • ive played this game omg!

  • Who hasn't? It didn't come near to being as great as MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries for me.

  • holy nostalgia batman, I need to find a copy of this game and play it for the first time in years..

  • Is that a Fox class WarShip at 0:08 - 0:21 ?

  • I wish they would have had the final Trials at Strana Mechty in the game.

  • True.

Maybe the devs of MechWarrior: Living Legends might do that...

(Please note that if you want any hope of trying that, you need Crysis and a computer with high-end props by today's standards.)

  • @jubokusa

That would've been sooo awesome :)

  • @jubokusa i have a feeling that the addon is aways being produced but once it is release we have to wait

  • @jubokusa

I don't think the MW3 engine can handle such large battles.

  • cool. at the end the mad cat looked like it was grinning

  • It's so sad I love this game and used always play it, but my old computer fried and it now won't work on vista! Damn Microsoft.

  • It will work on vista, right click on your mech warrior exe and press properties, compatiblilty and select windoes 95 on the first dropdown box :)

on the first and second time you run it may crash, after that its smooth sailing, i did this on xp :D

If it continues to crash, try to restart your pc.

  • Is this game easy to run on windows xp? I dont need any special programs for it?

  • nope. at least on my PC it run very well. but i had some issues. sometimes i completed a mission but the next mision wouldn't appear and i had to play the last mission again.sometimes the game crashed after a mission finished loading, and sometimes my Mobile Bases would randomly lose equipment like i used them on a mission. But generally it plays fine :)

  • It will usually run fine. Just don't get the No-CD patch for it because that causes many problems.

  • no, just a patch that can be googlet.

  • I already have mech 4 mercs. I wanted something new so i got mw3

  • Why? Because it is just another part of the Mech Warrior games? I prefer the games which haven't been slagged down by companies and have great storylines (MW2 Mercenaries)

  • MW3 was the best one, actually.

  • Well, that's your personal opinion, much like my personal opinion is that MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries was the best of the game series (so far)

  • MW2: Mercs was great, but MW3 was the closest to FASA's own intent for the setting, I think. And it did the best job of making the mechs feel physical and real.

  • I'll grant you that, the much more realistic feel to it and how much closer it was to FASA's original idea of game play. MW 3 is my second favourite of the series (including the MC series) - I cannot include MW 4 as I have yet to play that yet.

  • MW4 was a huge disappointment in a lot of ways. The mech design is much simpler (childish by comparison) and I'm okay with that, but the acting beyond the opening video is absolutely awful. The gameplay itself was not bad.

  • @GeneralBattuta Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries was the best, actually.

  • @Gallowell Nooo, plain Mechwarrior 2 was the best.

  • @Gallowell Mercs was pretty decent, and I played the hell out of it, but all in all I think 3 was a better game.

  • Smoke Jaguar was an awesome clan, one the fiercest toughest mofos you could fight in battle.

  • Aye, that's why they were chosen by the Renewed Star League to be annihilated.

In battle you always take down the strongest opponent so that you minimise your potential casualties before they can have a chance to tear your throat out in the future.

  • Wrong. They were taken out because they were excessively arrogant, and the IS was able to use that attitude against them.

  • If you are going to comment, then READ the books, please. 'lest you look like an idiot in public.

  • smoke jags suck. They are a disgrace to the clans lol

  • Well the Smoke Jaguars were annihilated, so no need to worry about them being a disgrace anymore quiaff?

  • Well, not if you take Fidelis into account...

  • I have no idea who or what Fidelis is, sorry.

  • Dark Age stuff- the last of the Jaguar warrior caste was captutred by the Sphere and reformed into a unit loyal to the Republic. They were eventually given the right to leave and construct a 'new' Jaguar as they saw fit.

  • The clans can never hope to compete with the Inner Sphere and their insane levels of gar.

No one is ready to win a war if they treat it like a game. They're sci-fi scrubs and got pulled around like little kids. They don't understand what real war is.

"Oh you'll only use 10 guys? Alright we'll only use 10 guys."

And then they run up into 40 IS mechs and get their shit stomped in.

They're like the British forces fighting the Americans during the revolution.

  • Innersphere surats

  • LOL

  • It's not about matching strength for strength, the Clans have always been about honour. If your words are anything to go by, then strike me down now, for you have no idea what BattleTech is truely about.

  • Honor means nothing if you're dead by the end of the day.

War isn't a game. Face it, your clans treat war like a scrub treats a game they suck at. "Don't do this, it's cheap! Don't do that, it's cheap!"

And that's why the clans lost. It really IS like the Americans vs British. The british fought with "honor" by marching their troops in rows to meet upon the battle, and they lost for it because they couldn't handle real battlefield tactics, juts like the clans.

  • Also, I always thought the way clan players had such vehemence for the clans to be childish anyway. Mostly because it encourages the "don't do this, it's cheap" mind set younger players love to use.

No matter how superior you and your punk clans think you are for negligible reasons like style of birth and genetics, they still lose at the end of the day. And that's all that matters. For all their superiority they're still just as susceptible to things like LASERS and BULLETS as any other man.

  • yeah no offense but that whole thing about the British fighting the Americans with their best soldiers and honorable tactics is pretty much a myth... the british were fighting napoleon at the time, so they sent all their worst soldiers and some prisoners they turned into soldiers to deal with us americans... we didn't defeat the best army in the world, we beat the asscrack of the british army. Sorry it's kind of irrelevant but that whole misconception bugs the hell out of me for some reason.

  • True, at the time, the British forces were spread too thin. It became a question of whether the French or Americans were the greater threat. However, the British at the time claimed that they would win even on the American front through honor and by virtue of the best soldiers in the world.

This is similar to the storyline where the clans sent their best against one another, rather than the inner sphere and thus lost the war.

  • fail rifle man owns all

  • Clan Wolf for life.

Pathetic innerspheresmen can't take me down in a Timberwolf.

  • Inn Sphere > Clan

the clan is constanstly thwarted by underarmed innsphere soldiers...noobs...

  • look at a goddamn map. inner sphere has 4x the plantets, resources, and people ready to fight, but are unfit to even hold a gun. Clan warriors are bred for war, and your "experience" of inner sphere always winning is from the perspective of the inner sphere in mw 3 and 4. read the books, and you'll see how inferior you are compared to the clans.

    Jade Falcon Pryde!

  • While I agree, it's comments like that that would get challenged no less than 5 times in a CoE before you could turn off your computer.

  • And that explains why they lose with their genetic superiority and honor-bound traditions against these Inner Sphere folk who are "unfit to even hold a gun". Constantly.

  • Clans > Inner Sphere.

Always hated how MechWarrior 2: The Clans (and it's expansion.. it *was* just an expansion, wasn't it?) was the only one from their perspective. I even much preferred the clans in the novels.... Clan Wolf ftw!

  • For an expansion, it added about a 1/3rd of the original game to it, by adding a third clan path to choose.

  • mech warrior is more reallistic than gundam

  • @FreecapZ

Frankly that depend, Gundam Work on "Jam every targeting system ever" particle. And that justify pretty much everything as long you put aside beamsaber and else.

As for Mechwarrior, let's say that equally equipped tank (Bolo-like) would scrap their fragile leg very fast.

  • @FreecapZ

Whoever compares Mechwarrior/Mechcommander/Battletech to Gundam should be shot.

  • @ShadowHero2009

Mechwarrior: Mech pilots with years of training and battlefield experience can still be killed by a lone soldier with a grappel rod and demo charge.

Gundam: Whiny, angsty teenage brats with no prior military experience or training wipe out hundreds upon hundreds of nameless grunts because they hate killing (what the f*ck, seriously?).

  • @crazy4sian

EXACTLY! I don't see how anyone can fucking compare Mechwarrior with Gundam. It's a blatant insult to Battletech/Mechwarrior/Mechcommander

  • @ShadowHero2009 Well, 08th MS Team was pretty cool. Gundams and Mobile Suits were gritty, down to earth, prone to breaking down (getting stuck in a bog or stalling because of sand getting stuck between the gears), and actually used their legs. There was even a squad of Mobile Suits taken out by guerrilla fighters with naught but small arms and RPG's.

  • @crazy4sian Yeah, 08th is the only Gundam show I really liked, just because of those reasons. Jungle warfare+mechs=win?

  • @GeneralThornton Mostly for the fact that Gundams were treated like vehicles which required proper maintenance and even then broke down at the worst possible moments.

  • @crazy4sian Indeed, it did contribute to the general grittyness of the show. it was the Deep Space 9 of Gundam, I guess. :P

  • Comment removed

  • @NatsumaruSama Sir, you need to calm down. You're making a scene and painting yourself as a target for everyone here. Now I like myself a little Battletech and some Gundam, but both have their pros and cons. Just because you prefer one thing, you shouldn't condemn the other.

  • @FreecapZ FUCK GUNDAM

  • There are good guys in the Battletech Universe?

  • IS won because they're the good guys...

  • @flemw1234 There's no good or bad guys in war, only a two opposing sides, and history's yet to declare one of them the winner, and the other satan.

  • @elucid07

Except this isn't real life...IS beat off the invading clan forces..being that the clans were dehumanized with their ethics, unique culture, eugenics based test tube breeding, they are clearly portrayed as evil "alien" invaders the only time I wouldn't consider it such is maybe in the game MW 2 where you play as clan wolf against falcon..

  • why do the clans nearly always loose.

  • Comment removed

  • Because they're too good. The Inner Sphere becomes the underdogs. Man Battletech has the sickest story. Those guys at FASA were geniuses.

  • I miss FASA dearly...

  • then get ready for Piranha Games to rebirth the mechwarrior saga. i hope its not another mechassault disaster...

  • @Crowbarboy if i look at the games piranha games released until now its looking bad. really bad

  • @Buemmo on the other hand, didn't piranha help develop mass effect + mass effect 2? Aside from the latest attempt at a game (transformers, whatever it was called), if they create a game of the same quality as Mass Effect, (meaning, depth of story, visual effects, and not meaning making MW5 a role playing game, which would just be foolish) I could probably play it for months on end.

  • @LTKodiak sry but there are two Piranha games studios. The one which develops MW5 is the one which also did develop that trasformers game (which is quite crappy)

  • @Crowbarboy

Mechassault wasnt great, but considering it was an introduction for console gamers into the beautiful BT universe, other than RoboTech for the Xbox, it's a good game overall...

  • @Crowbarboy mechassault is awesome

but, yes, it isnt as good as MW

  • Hold on buddy. FASA is tired. But Mechs are living in our hearts! XD

  • D Clans always win in ol of the battle. D only loss they had are from Twycross, Wolcott, and Tukayyid. All of which was thru strategic means and deceit (except on Tukayyid) not sheer use of firepower or strength by IS. Clan Smoke Jaguars were easily wiped out coz the reformed SLDF fielded forces more than the Clans can handle its like 3 to. And the forces of the Smoke Jaguars were readying for a renewed offensive towards IS so thats y their mechs were not configured for a defensive position.

  • The clans also lost on Lucien the Kuritan capital. Dragoons, Eridani and the Hounds were all there as well as an appearance by the Crescent hawks which had never been seen again or mentioned since the first battle tech games.

  • oh yea how come i forgot about that. lol pure tactics considering majority of their battle technology are not as good as the Com Guards. One of my favorite battles, Luthien. Eridani Light Horse Merc didnt participate in that battle for the reasons that they extremely hate the Kuritans and they were stationed in the Sarna March against House Liao. The only mercs that can be sent by Hanse Davion were the Dragoons and Kell Hounds with some other small merc units like the Crescent Hawks.

  • The Smoke Jaguars were caught off guard and didnt think that the IS is capable of mounting a unified assault against them. I remember the 2nd book on Twilight of The Clans that the IS send out 3-4 RCT's (Regimental Combat Teams which is roughly 324-432 mech units plus multiple elements of support units ie aerospace fighters, artillery, infantry, ETC) against a galaxy or two in a planet. considering that the Nova Cats joined the IS during this time. thats why the Smoke Jags lost the war

  • Just finished this.

Stacked like 10 m pulse lasers on my mech and we bum rushed them in the circle of equals.

I knocked over almost every mech and gave them a mercy shot.

  • man... the nova (aka blackhawk) was the ONE mech missing from MW4 that i really missed.

  • I was playing the game for two months to finish it because it was bugged like HELL and when i was finishing a mission i got victorius message but i had to replay the mission omgwtfbbq :P

  • theres patches for that kinda stuff

  • i play mechwarrior 4 because theres more stability

  • Yeah. Think the clans got a lesson on Darwinism when Clan Smoke Jaguar got the axe.

Nature is its own laboratory and only the strong survive. Especially after four succession wars.

  • I think the clans learned that you shouldn't make stupid deals like "We won't attack you for a really long time while you copy our tech" ;).

  • Wouldn't have made much of a difference. The Grey Death Legion found and distributed an intact Star League memory core before the clans invaded. The Sphere was recovering before hand. True they would have taken one hell of a hit but the clans hastened technology reintegration in the inner sphere and did something four succession wars never could do. United the sphere, if only temporarily, against a common foe and ressurected the Star League. The very thing they were trying to do.

  • Even so, the clans had been developing their tech from the point at which they branched off, no? I seem to recall something like that.

  • To my understanding all the clans did was refine Star League tech. They had the same equipment as the Inner Sphere. It was just lighter and had greater range. And in the case of energy weapons, did slightly more damage. If the Sphere didn't technologically regress the way they did through the succession wars then they would have eclipsed the clans long before they invaded.

  • The Clans descended from the Inner Sphere (General Kerensky) and had 300 year5s to improve and build their technology beyond the Periphery without falling into the petty squabbles the Inner Sphere dide known as the Succession Wars.

  • True. The first two succession wars knocked the IS back into the stone age. But the clans had their petty squabbles too. There was clan wolverine that was on the losing end of a trial of absorption for example.

The clans invented nothing new until after the invasion and that was due to the efforts of places like the NAIS to re-integrate star league tech into society at large from above mentioned memory core. If anything the clans hastened that along. But I stand by my statement.

  • Might want to add that later on there was a division in clan/IS tech. But that was out of necessity. The IS was making rapid advances and in the case of X-pulse lasers and the heavy/light gauss rifles, actually creating new weapon systems that the clans had to rapidly adapt to otherwise they would have been put on uneven footing.
