Cummings is such a know-nothing twat. Gears was torn to shreds by gamers when it launched. Glitches up the ass, laggy servers, golden lancer and hammerburst codes not working. There were a lot of problems with Gears until like the fourth patch. It was far more playable than any next-gen Madden, but as someone who was hyped for Gears 2 and played the shit out of it, I was not pleased.

@footballfullback I want a good football game too, and yes madden is not perfect. I have yet to play a video fb game that is perfect, and that includes the 2k series whicjh I love too. But it seems that no matter what ea does everybody is down their throat, welll not everybody. It's also obvious they limit the amount of positive changes each year, they have an expected return on the $50M they paid the NFL.
If the exclusive deal with the NFL is not renewed, they'll be finally pressed to move to a better engine resulting in better play.

personally, i believe that there is a problem when i see the same six animations every single game on defense and offense, yet games with even more detail and with a huge amounts of animations that react to almost all things within the environment. We obviously have the technology to enhance the madden series, its just sad how they sit on their ass and rake in the cash.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but after 647 NFL carries Fred Jackson has yet to break a run over 43 yards. Now, I know Ian made mention of "out of this world" moments that happen on a weekly basis, but Fred Jackson nearly doubling his career long with DeAngelo Hall giving pursuit shouldn't happen. This is just another example of EA making this game into an ongoing highlight reel, everyone is a homerun hitter in Ian's eyes.

In Maddens 11's Defense, Carlos Rogers was running diagonally about 10 yards to the left of Fred Jackson trying to get an angle to attempt a tackle or trip and Freddy Jackson was running in a straight line. This could be a reason that Rogers loses ground on Jackson.

Madden is a good game. EA and Tiburon need to take their time and specifically detail the little things, even down to the brown spots on the worn field...

I thinks they should sit down and play either a game or practice mode. After each play, sack, interception, TD, or incomplete pass, they should 'Instant Replay' each play, anylize it, and ,make changes of what they see fit...
The EA ethos is wrong. EA sees something in the NFL, like the David Tyree catch, the surprise onside kick, the Eagles making an amazing come back etc and they want to make a football game with that stuff in it. So people can 'experience' what they saw on tv. This pleases the maddenites (and convinces them Madden is a solid game).
But EA don't care how they implement it, football fundamentals go out the window.

As far as the problems your poin out. Sure there legit problems but, Those problems could have been fixed along the way. Madden doesn't fix whats broken and we will never realize the potential of games like NFL gameday and NFL 2k cause of EA.
@Shadybest For everything that APF2k8 does well, there are a lot of glaring AI Issues. I have been playing the game for 3 years, and have plenty of gameplay footage for APF, NCAA, and Madden.
There are things that Madden 11 does well, and things that it does not. The game is clearly better then '10 (which was good..not great), Madden's 07-09(which were awful).
Madden 11 plays a fun game of football. Ultimately, a game is going to be as SIM as the players playing it.

As long as he is in the frame of running Madden we will never see a great football game. Isn't his job as a developer to find ways to improve your game? When we complaint that 2k4 running back can turn and cut the corner on a dime, 2k sports put the REAL LOCOMOTION in 2k5. It just shows the dedication the developers put in the game.

Well, at least you've caught their attention. If they don't take anyone's video into consideration to improve their product, then why should we support them? It's funny. I have friends that don't even play Madden or any sports games for that matter, and they watch me play this game and laugh at me. They ask why I would play such a poor quality game! as a community thats what we are here for. we purchase purchase the game and we see the same flaws that plagued the game for few years. we have the right to come on youtube and do videos or support the guys do the videos pointing out the flaws. But it seems that no matter what ea does everybody is down their throat, welll not everybody. @kubemaster Obviously Ian Cummings would be resistant to any ideas that include he and his staff being replaced with others (or that requires outside talent); therefore we are limited in what we can suggest to him. It's also obvious they limit the amount of positive changes each year, they have an expected return on the $50M they paid the NFL.
If the exclusive deal with the NFL is not renewed, they'll be finally pressed to move to a better engine resulting in better play.

The "REAL" problem is the NFL ! As a gamer (in his 40's )I remember Madden BEFORE the NFL and NFLPA . They ONLY got involved AFTER they saw the PROFITS they could accrue . At the time Madden and Summerall were the premier booth team MLB had the Strike . To be followed by BOTH the NBA and NHL lockouts. Since then the NFL has become a MEGA Billion enterprise . personally, i believe that there is a problem when i see the same six animations every single game on defense and offense, yet games with even more detail and with a huge amounts of animations that react to almost all things within the environment. We obviously have the technology to enhance the madden series, its just sad how they sit on their ass and rake in the cash.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but after 647 NFL carries Fred Jackson has yet to break a run over 43 yards. Now, I know Ian made mention of "out of this world" moments that happen on a weekly basis, but Fred Jackson nearly doubling his career long with DeAngelo Hall giving pursuit shouldn't happen. This is just another example of EA making this game into an ongoing highlight reel, everyone is a homerun hitter in Ian's eyes.

In Maddens 11's Defense, Carlos Rogers was running diagonally about 10 yards to the left of Fred Jackson trying to get an angle to attempt a tackle or trip and Freddy Jackson was running in a straight line. This could be a reason that Rogers loses ground on Jackson.

Madden is a good game. EA and Tiburon need to take their time and specifically detail the little things, even down to the brown spots on the worn field...
It's an ok game right now, and 20 years in the process, it's still at the top of the list...
I thinks they should sit down and play either a game or practice mode. After each play, sack, interception, TD, or incomplete pass, they should 'Instant Replay' each play, anylize it, and ,make changes of what they see fit...

The EA ethos is wrong. EA sees something in the NFL, like the David Tyree catch, the surprise onside kick, the Eagles making an amazing come back etc and they want to make a football game with that stuff in it. So people can 'experience' what they saw on tv. This pleases the maddenites (and convinces them Madden is a solid game).
But EA don't care how they implement it, football fundamentals go out the window.
This is why Madden will never be a good game :(

Honestly, I dont blame Ian. Ian is called childish, yet there are people who spend hours putting a disk in their console, that they hate.
The fact of the matter, is that some cant get over not having a NFL2k game to play, and dont know what else to do with themselves.
If EA fixes something, hours will be wasted finding something else, then something else, etc.
As long as there is a NFL game with a EA sticker on it, and not a 2K one on it, this cycle will continue without end.

@nykia31 Obviously those games had flaws but, They came out in 2004(and '05). The fact of the matter is; Games like NFL 2K5 and All Pro Football 2k8 are better when it comes to simulation football. There is no denying that(Prove me wrong with a vid!).
As far as the problems your poin out. Sure there legit problems but, Those problems could have been fixed along the way. Madden doesn't fix whats broken and we will never realize the potential of games like NFL gameday and NFL 2k cause of EA.

@Shadybest For everything that APF2k8 does well, there are a lot of glaring AI Issues. I have been playing the game for 3 years, and have plenty of gameplay footage for APF, NCAA, and Madden.
There are things that Madden 11 does well, and things that it does not. The game is clearly better then '10 (which was good..not great), Madden's 07-09(which were awful).
Madden 11 plays a fun game of football. Ultimately, a game is going to be as SIM as the players playing it.

@Shadybest Yep, when we complaint about NFL2k3 is hard to catch the ball and don't have ESPN license, 2k Sports put it in 2k4. When we complaint that 2k4 running back can turn and cut the corner on a dime, 2k sports put the REAL LOCOMOTION in 2k5. It just shows the dedication the developers put in the game.
I like EA better back at PS2 era when they listen to the fans because they have competition.

I will readily agree that the Madden Franchise has been very disappointing since going ''next gen''...(something they STILL haven't truly achieved).
But, I will also say readily that EA makes the best football game (NCAA 11)..and that NO football game, not even the heralded NFL 2K 5 has perfectly simulated a football game. NFL 2K5,The game your whole ''lawsuit'' is largely based around is a tragically flawed game as well.

Don't over analyze things? Doesn't go into replay mode? Somebody please send the developer of the Fight Night series to madden so he can actually show how games are supposed to be made. Ian Cummings and the madden's whole work force is lazy and they only care about money. Verus2 posted videos on QB's man handling the Ravens D-line and another vide that shows Qb's containging the Ravens WR's. Tom Brady threw down 350lb linemen Terrence Cody. Fake shit. as a community thats what we are here for. we purchase purchase the game and we see the same flaws that plagued the game for few years. we have the right to come on youtube and do videos or support the guys do the videos pointing out the flaws. At the same time we hope the developers respect our feedback and try to fix the problems.

NFL 2k will be back in 2013, mark it on your calender people. Because 2K has contacted the NFL to breach the contract with EA for one season. If we can buy out 2K over Madden it would show how stupid Roger Goodel,Ian Cummings, EA(it's capitalism over everything) truly is. Hope over Corperate Greed. im glad that you posted this video. I thought I was the only one that heard ian say that. the flaws we see in the game are during live gameplay and then we go back in disbelief to replay some of the terrible display of football.

well people cant even use madden to learn from anymore. I used 03-06 for defensive blitzing, coverage techniques, and blocking assignments, running backs following blockers, how to cut through holes, man madden is just such a gimic anymore you score by minpulating the game instead of understanding football

I had hopes Ian would be better than this, but its the same old story. Stopped taking him seriously the moment he released that poll asking if we would rather have Play-Action fixed or surprise onside kicks. Are you kidding me, Mr.Cummings? Fundamentals like play action are an option instead of something that MUST be in the game?

Also check out the ref. what are his stats? That dude ran with the play from a stand still all the way down the field and was almost faster or as fast as the defenders.
