Alright people, both Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold are metal bands, so can you stop insisting that A7X aren't "Real Metal?" You may personally prefer one or the other, but both are good bands and I'm a fan of both of them. There's no point in degrading one band or type of metal - metalheads are rare enough in the music community as it is, and if we go on as we are metal will remain on the sidelines and not in the spotlight where it belongs.

A7X has moved onto a more metal/hard rock sound. their first 2 cds though were metalcore. and before you say metalcore is METALcore, there is a large, large difference. you wouldnt see metallica on tour with underoath, or see pantera with parkway drive

Its not about expanding and maturing that's the issue here. Every band goes through those stages and that is what will make them or break them. However the issue older fans have with the current stage of the band is that it seems they betrayed the very ideals that made them form in the first place. David Draiman said it similarly - "Never forget where you came from, and never forget what drives you as a band. Expand the palette, but never betray what you've been identified for."
