Am so glad I was there and at the age of 19 when this song came out, it was great watching and listening on MTV back then, Today I turn the TV on, try to watch the new videos and nothing happens, the magic is lost. God I wish some one invented a fucking time machine, I'd be going back to the 80's and stay there for good
If you're down with hip hop or ganjah, then peep the vids on my channel, & if you're feelin them, goto datpiff.com & download the "Virginia's 4 Bubblers Mixtape" 4 free!!! Peace!
ROB BASE DIDN'T BLOW BECAUSE OF CROOKED MANAGEMENT. "CURTIS" IN THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO REALLY WAS HIS MANAGER. HE WAS ALSO VERY GREEDY. THE BIGGEST SNAKE IN THE GRASS I EVER CAME ACROSS IN MY LIFE. A WOMEN BEATER AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF. WHAT MAKE IT BAD IS THE FACT THAT HE PASSED HIS WAYS DOWN TO HIS 13 CHILDREN SO THE CYCLE CONTINUES.
@eliforpresident1 I heard that about Curtis, Rob did an interview awhile back ago and he says he regrets some of the decisions that were made in the past includeing not paying attention to Curtis or paying attetion to the business side of things.
damnnn i miss dis time old school rap was the best nothing 2 do with the new crap shit we got now i use 2 do some competition on da one miss it 2 much da was my jam
Rob Base was the best rapper of the 80s -90s, and one of the top 3 of all time. And this is from a Southern, white, 37-year-old heavy metal fan. This song was AWESOME!
i wish my kids could really enjoy this! but its 2010 and they do have that shit!! lovin it all music is wonderful! keep it coming we're ready 4 it all!
dats what we use 2 call MUSIC back then damnnnnnn miss it so much wish 2 go back in the 80's ...well no chance lmao but back then we use 2 have some nice lyrics without violence sex drug n all thoses crap shit thx 2 put it here enjoy watching it
Wow-- I'll age myself here a bit, but when this song was fresh in the D.C. clubs, people used to go out, dance, have fun and not be shot or stabbed. The music was great- singable, danceable, and didn't contain lyrics about raping, shooting, stealing, turf wars, being a drug using/ drunken bum who sponges off the system with their baby daddy/ momma. Bring back old skool!
Amen to that! I'm in the UK, and the story is similar here - you went out to have a good time, and NOT to be turned over by some pissed up bighead JAMF encouraged by some useless tosser he'd heard on a rap record. Old Skool rules!
@tbnewellsr omg where yeh from gangsterz where alive b4 hip hop ...here from google :By the early 1970s black street gangs began to reemerge. By 1972, the Crips were firmly established and the Bloods were beginning to organize. This period saw the rise of LA’s newest gangs, which continued to grow during the 1970s, and later formed in several other cities throughout the United States by the 1990s.
I remember sweating out my perm to great party songs like these, I couldn't stay off the dance floor, no one could really. My era had great music, this era not so much! I go out to a party today and unless its an old school party I find myself sitting in my seat the whole night or just leaving early because all they want to play all night is Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne or some T-pain mess. SHM, we need to get back to the essence of hip hop, when hip hop could be fun and thought provoking.
damn dis song reminds me back in da dayz i would neva stop listen 2 it da was the jam everywhere u go da was pupping up wow i use 2 do some nice dance challenge on dis club back den lol thx 2 put it up
Ahh, I Was Still A Kid During These Times Buuht I Still Love The 90's Hip Hop And Agree it's Better Than Anything Today. With The Exception Of Kid Cudi And Shwayze. Haa.
I think even Lil Wayne would admit that anything Rob Base and E-Z Rock did shits all over anything he's done. I'm not knocking Lil Wayne or anything, i happen to like his stuff actually, but c'mon, listen to this, it's gold.
ROB BASE LIVE!!! July 25 2010 at the CAUSE FOR THE PAWS BENEFIT in Brooklyn New York, from Noon till 7PM... at Club F1 located at 823 65th Street in BayRidge, hit me up for info! 3472602878
The greatest rapper that never was. I never understood why Rob didn't blow up after this album. He was 100 times better than Hammer yet he became just the flavor of that year. Too bad. We were forced to look at Hammer dancing around in those goofy baggy pants for the next two years and spawned the abomination that was Vanilla Ice. Dre and Snoop finally got rap back on track somewhat but their obsession with weed and malt liquor hurt hip hop in the long run.
@billyblueification He was a junkie. He had a drug habit and his production team didn't clear any of his samples. Almost everything they earned went to the production team and original artist. He tried to go solo but by then the buzz was gone.
@billyblueification ILL tell u why he never blow up after when u do dirty business too people him & his mgr i was his dj with ez rock i was dj ez kid i was the one who got him the deal & producer with dj steve dee i have a big miss understanding with mgr ment that run the lable before profile deal he was sign to world two world rec this is all true but when u live in lies it comes back people know that was around i can tell u much more we will talk
0:30 to 0:32 she moves so damn smoother it looked like she was floating down the room. I have not seen a person move like that in 20 years. The ability to move that damn graceful is gone. Its no longer exist in the human genome. Sexier than MOTHER FUCKING HELL.
Lets not forget the big man singing shown from the side. That is classic hip hop style. This shit is dead. Was good when it lasted though.
True that... Rap Music back in the 80's was all about the music and the beats that was the best, not like nowadays it's all about killing another and bragging of what the fuck they have.
@harderizbetter Are you serious? The beats are looped samples and the lyrics are about how good they rap, how well they're known, fame, cars, girls, money, drugs, shot at, etc. pretty much the same recipe today. Don't get me wrong. I listened to it back in the day and can appreciate some good party tunes but don't compare it to Mozart or Tool. There is nothing deep, intricate, complex or groundbreaking about this stuff.
It's unbelievable how you can go to ANY rap video and somebody mentions Lil' Wayne. Me and boy were going through random rap videos from every era and laughing our ass off at how someone mentioned Lil' Wayne EVERY TIME. If you don't like him, fine, I don't like him either, but I just don't talk about him. By constantly mentioning him even when the song has nothing to do with him you're keeping him relevant. Don't you idiots understand that?
yea but for the most part they did it in undertones and definitely not as graphically as music is today. I'd rather listen to the music back then any day over this crap on the radio now.
@Denali327 I know some of the stuff on the radio just piss me off sometimes i dnt even listen to the hip hop radio station at all just come on youtube to actually listen to some good ass music
This is a good song I thought the song was on SOnic 2 on sega genesis apparently this is an exciting song experiences 2 sides of feelings and life and the song is entertaining
fuck each n every one a yall, i STILL bump this shit like its new! at car shows, in traffic, in front of the club on friday night, everywhere. the more new trash comes out the more i go retro wit da real shit. WORD!
At some point, I hope you realize that the leisure suit and comb over, oops, you're stuck in the 80's- please remember that statiatory still has 18 as the magic number- By the way, do you have the Ron Jeremy stache? And how do you face the parents when you are the same age as they are? Damn, you are creepy.... One more thing.. Is your address registered for anything, like Meghan's Law ?
word up sun, I do the same shit. gotta keep the oldschool alive, I stay bumpin' 60's - 90's music friday nights at different spots. Niggas askin' me if I got that new jeezy mixtape. . . . yea I got that & it's cool, but there's no substance, no depth. the problem with todays mainstream music is how unimaginative it is.

@dimviesel
word up sun, I do the same shit. gotta keep the oldschool alive, I stay bumpin' 60's - 90's music friday nights at different spots. Niggas askin' me if I got that new jeezy mixtape. . . . yea I got that & it's cool, but there's no substance, no depth. the problem with todays mainstream music is how unimaginative it is.
