U did a VERY good job!! U answered questions that I had!! U probably did better than a counselor @ a college would do!! smh GREAT JOB!!! btw, r u a RN? & how much did u make an hr, starting off?
Sadly, nurses are expendable labour. We'll get rid of you and hire another one for a cheaper wage, with less knowledge and skills, into the same unit you have worked for years.
Be the best and take care of yourself. Knowledge is power, and that starts with common sense. Really. You're just another nurse. Not a masters, not a bachelors, not a diploma...it's what you know at the time.
Google everything. "Nursing sucks" is a good start. Don't take abuse.
I will guarantee you, a working nurse in a higher-knowledge required unit will put you to shame if you feel that a BSN title will help you out in a critical moment.
Our doctors know that anyone going to extra lengths to exemplify their degree needs to be watched more carefully until we know that they know what they're doing.
Nurses have brought it upon themselves. I'll still float you to medical, won't care if you don't get lunch, and quickly replace you with another "professional" on a whim.
ADN's pass the license test at a higher rate with higher scores than BSN's. It's true that there are more management opportunities for BSN's, but ADN's are still managers.
At this point, you're not even in the honeymoon stage of nursing. (Well, maybe you are because this was uploaded in 2008.)
Yeah. Nurses will have JOB for life because of the demand for for more nurses. There is a demand because the JOB sucks.
You will love and hate nursing. But never undermine a "lessor" degree.
Oh honey...you're so naive. The title is simply RN, anywhere, in any state, or country for that matter.
Congress is not trying to eliminate the RN degree. Where did you get that jewel? Congress won't dictate or care about a silly nurse controversy. It's being fueled by nurses themselves, trying to "professionalize" the JOB. The longer time you spend in school, the more it costs and creates more faculty requirements and positions.
You said it yourself. Everyone takes the same test..
