Metaphorically, her gown is just like a lunar eclipse! At the beginning, her dress is all white, now it starts to turn red at the hem and sleeves. At the very end, it has turned completely red, revealing her true and dark self!
@jackpoint188, I can see how you would think that is Erika Miklosa but it is not. If you open two windows of them doing this same performance, you can see that Miklosa's face is MUCH narrower than Damrau's in the photo above. Also, look under the chin in this photo under this video. Madame Damrau is a beautifully voluptous woman and has a fuller figure than Madame Miklosa. :-)
@oneworldguy You're right I see on second viewing it is Diana. To me that costume seemed unique with Erika's english performance as the Queen.

That final B flat is epic. I bet you the building started to shake that night.

Why is Erika Miklova as The Queen shown? Otherwise a great audio of Damrau.

Listen to that house go INSANE when she finishes! :-) Thank you, OP, for including that! I hate when people cut off the audience response!

Diana Damrau getting her freaky on with that outfit! As usual awesome, but that outfit was just a bit too freaky and not human in my opinion.
