  • Now that's what I call a video tutorial, thank you for the extremely detailed instructions! Two thumbs UP!

  • Will this work on my p67 sabertooth mobo with a 2600k cpu???

  • @jimbo121 That is a socket 1155 motherboard so yes it will work.

  • @jimbo121 go with a better cpu cooler this is a good cpu cooler but with the type of set up you have you should get summit like a corsiar h60 or h100

  • Thanks a lot for the video.

  • Hi I need help with wiring. I bought this very fan but wanted to convert it into a desktop fan using a 12 volt adapter. I connected the red wire from the fan to the black and white wire from the adapter and the black wire from the fan to the solid black wire of the adapter.

It didn't work. Does this mean I have to find wiring to suit the other 2 wires? Blue and yellow? Please help me out.. thanks..

  • @keitholiverz I don't know if what you're trying to do is possible. Do a Google search for "4 pin cpu fan pinout" You will find a site with a color coded diagram. The problem you're having is that the blue wire is for control. That is telling the fan to spin and how fast to spin.

  • my computers idle temperature dropped from 55C to 34C. when i switched from stock intel cooler to this one. i <3 it

  • Thank you so much. I didn't understand the picture instructions that came with the cooler. Your video stopped me from installing it wrongly.

  • Comment removed

  • I have this cooler, and its great!

  • what was the before and after effects of the celsius temperature?

  • @Victormunro This installation video was take from Lesson 5 of our Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 overclocking videos. At this point the CPU was overclocked from it's stock speed of 2.66GHz to 3.7GHz. Before the cooler was replaced the idle temperature was 62c. With this replacement it dropped to 43c. The load temp had been 97c. It dropped to 75c.

  • Hey, hopefully you reply today.

I have an AMD Athlon II X4 620 (Socket AM3 938) at 2.6GHz, I am getting between 70 and 80 on my stock CPU, will this fit inside my Black Micro ATX Case and also will it fit my CPU?

  • @archer10227 If that is 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit it is good. 70 to 80 degrees Celsius is bad. Does the reading say F or C next to it?

  • @hpcbdvd I should have specified that. It's at Celsius, that's why I am looking for a new one, this is whilst playing games by the way. I get around 50 - 65 Celsius pretty much idle!

  • @archer10227 Before replacing the CPU cooler I would try re-applying the thermal compound between the cooler and the CPU. Can you tell me the model of Micro ATX case you have?

  • @hpcbdvd Sure thing, ebuyer(dot)com/244177-black-micro-atx-case-no-psu-pn501bb.

  • @archer10227 That case has a regular width so height won't be a problem. To make sure the cooler will work with your motherboard and not hit a ram slot or a heat sink on the motherboard do a Google search for your motherboard model number and Freezer 7 Pro. This is a very popular cooler. You should find people talking about using it on your model motherboard.

  • @hpcbdvd Alright thanks, I was just concerned with the height, I know it will work now. Thanks for your help and great video. I will most likely use this if I need help.

  • good video, although it made me want to kill myself

  • Would you recommend the Corsair Obsidian Series of cases?

  • @AnimalKlips The Corsair Obsidian cases are excellent, but a little pricey. Take a look at Antec and Coolermaster cases. They are very good quality and much cheaper.

  • @AnimalKlips yes there one of the best

  • Is this the correct model for my pc? Im running a Dell 545 Intel Core Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz, with 4gb Ram, and a 300watt Powerpack. My CPU cores are getting to 70-72c after a few hours in a game. Would it be worth me buying this?

  • @reeferboy2003 If your CPU is overheating I would first try re-applying the thermal compound. You may also find that the heat sink is covered with dust. You can blow this off with some compressed air.

  • @hpcbdvd Yeah i cleaned out my pc, the core are idling around 55-60c and under load after a few hours gaming about 73-75c. My processor is designed my 74c so i ordered some thermal compound (arctic 5) but iv also ordered one of these, my case looks too small to fit this in it though lol. With my gpu and PSU, there isnt much room, but we will see, il let you know what happens, even if it did just need some paste it cant do any harm having this aswell :) Thanks :)

  • Would this fit in a corsair 400r ?

  • @huntoxandbeam Absolutely. Corsair cases are very spacious.

  • Would this cooler fit in a Raidmax Tornado case?

  • @ksuowl2 It will be a little close to the rear exhaust fan but it will fit. Be sure to turn the cpu cooler so its fan is away from the exhaust fan. This will blow the hot air from the CPU right out the back of the case.

  • @hpcbdvd Thank You!

  • @hpcbdvd oh and do you recommend to use a different thermal paste than the one that is already pre-applied?

  • O.K T.H.E.N.

    T.H.A.N.K Y.O.U

    where is the enthusiasm dude.

  • how to become out the platform for this fan?

  • I really like this video - how is the temp?

  • hilarious voice i give it a like just for the funny cyborg talking

  • vieron aprenda se pone el fancooler todo y arriba de todo ponen el procesador gindando ajajja xD

  • would this work with a ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Motherboard, CoolerMaster CM 690 II Advanced case with a i5 2500k?

  • @redsnake8 Yes this cooler will work with your hardware.

  • @hpcbdvd thank you very much, great tutorial btw

  • lol i thnk i know how to take something out of a box

  • Noob question right here: I´m buying a MSI P67A-GD55 REV B3 motherboard and an i5 2500, will this cooler work for that?

  • Hello I have just installed this onto my Sabertooth x58 motherboard with an i7 920 processer and I am only noticing a 5 degree chaange (lower) to about 39 degrees from 45-50 degrees with my basic Intel Heatsink and Fan. Does it take a bit of time to start working effectivley? Also the push pins are slightly different than in this video (prob because its over a year old ) :))

  • Is there also the socket for 1155 on 1156?

  • @ultraweedy Socket 1155 and 1156 are nearly identical. The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 cooler will work on both.

  • good guide, will use this for my new build

  • Is this compatible with an Asrock G31M-GS? Also can it fit a Galaxy PC Case?

Type it in google and see it. Thank you very much

  • @YFZRAC3R It should fit on your motherboard but I can't find the case. Is there a model number for your case?

  • @hpcbdvd Type this in google 'pc galaxy case' and click the 3rd image. My PSU is on the top. Thanks

  • @YFZRAC3R If I'm looking at the correct case this cooler will work fine.

  • wow! that was super informative, thank you!

  • is this compatible with an am3+ board?

  • @Kingjeffkoch Yes it will. Socket AM3+ changed the number of pins but the size and how coolers connect is the same as Socket AM3.

  • @hpcbdvd thanks :)

  • @hpcbdvd Is this compatible with an Asrock G31M-GS? Also can it fit a Galaxy PC Case?

Type it in google and see it. Thank you very much

  • @hpcbdvd Is this compatible with an Asrock G31M-GS? Also can it fit inside a Galaxy PC Case?

Type it in google and see it. Thank you very much

  • Thank you, this was very informative, but will it fit inside an NZXT Phantom case?

  • @kris019940 Yes it will.

  • Very good video... but way too mono tone...

  • I have a question regarding this cooler's fan positioning. In the video you made sure to have your fan pointed towards the RAM sockets, ergo away from the exhaust fan (despite saying in the video that you would point it towards the rear exhaust fan). Now, I'm not trying to point out any mistakes on your part, but I would like to know why you did it this way. I currently have my fan for this cooler on the opposite side to the one you suggested and I'm now wondering whether I should change it....

  • @geordie2004 The CPU fan blows through the heat sink. The video does show the fan on the opposite side from the exhaust fan so the hot air from the CPU cooler will be sent on the back of the case.

  • @hpcbdvd Ahhh, I thought the fan was blowing air the other way... D'oh. Guess I'll have to change that at some point.

  • @hpcbdvd Ahhh, I thought the fan was blowing the other way. D'oh. Guess I'll have to reinstall mine at some point.

  • you sound like the FLOOD from mario sunshine.

  • can someone send me a video for a amd guide?

  • @daleskill1 I think this is the 3rd request someone has put in the comments for an AMD guide. I would love to make another video with this model cooler showing it being installed onto an AMD CPU. Unfortunately the cooler in this video is in the computer I use for work and I can't take it out. If I were sent another cooler I would be happy to make a video showing how to install it onto an AMD CPU. This Intel install video is up to 74000+ views. Imagine the sales...

  • @hpcbdvd Arctic would send you a free one as this has got so many views. They would be happy for you to promote them! They would be happy with your clear instructions too..

  • You didn't mention the intel socket 1155. Is it compatible?

  • @TheAmazingMoose1 This video was made before socket 1155 was on the market. It is compatible.

  • Noticed no thermal paste, was it on the bottom of the heat sink already and you just need to peel of the paste segments or did you use a different thermal compound?

  • @WillHayFan The cooler came with thermal compound already applied. If you watch 56 seconds into the video it is shown.

  • @hpcbdvd Thank you have now seen it, thank's for the reply.

  • do i need to buy thermal compund (artic silver ) separate or one already on cooler is good enough

  • this compatible with 1155,but can you say what the size of the fan power cable in cm?

  • @Jean11114 go to newegg .c__o_m,type in search:GIGABYTE GA-H61M-D2P-B3 and look for the CPU fan header, and tell me if the fan power cable can be connect to the CPU fan header.

  • @Jean11114 I looked at the GIGABYTE GA-H61M-D2P-B3 and the Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2's power cable can certainly reach it.

  • @hpcbdvd I glad you so much, you really help me!

  • @Jean11114 I'd say its at least 20cm.

  • @hpcbdvd the cable,yes?

  • @Jean11114 Yes, the power cable is at least 20cm in length.

  • @Jean11114 forget,I find your answer in the comments

  • @PS3PSPXBOXWII When I opened it up I was surprised at the way it was packages and was glad I had the camera rolling. Its not about people being stupid. It is about being thorough and not skipping steps.

  • hmm mine came with bigger push-pins and it was annoying because they were more spread it took me some time to push them in the wholes :( and I don't understand why 3 of the heat pipes are like squashed it looks really ugly but otherwise the cooler is great with the stock Intel I was getting 75 degrees while playing games now its 50-55 I have intel i7 860 not the best cooler but for the money you pay you can't complain :) oh and I have a coolermaster storm scout and it fit perfectly its not big.

  • @PS3PSPXBOXWII It is a video that shows how to install the cooler.

  • @hpcbdvd I don't see why not. The Haf 912 plus is a standard ATX style case.

  • does tgis fit in a Cooler Master Haf 912 plus chassi

  • Thanks man, never had anything other than a stock cooler before and didn't have a clue were to start, this video has really made it clear for me.

  • Is this compatible with 1155?

  • @SluzBag1993 Yes it is. It is compatible with Intel CPU LGA 1366 / LGA 1156 / LGA 1155 / LGA 775 and AMD CPU Socket AM3 / AM2+ / AM2 / 939 / 754. Probably compatible with AMD3+ as well.

  • @hpcbdvd Thank you for your reply. :)

  • You sir, are a god.

  • cheers man i wasn't sure which way to face the fan because of my fan at the back is setup the same as u and i didnt know which direction the air comes out of this fan so thanks =)

  • FOR AMD USERS:

little advice on attaching this to your AMD CPU, first attach the rungs to the board, attaching the rungs to the heatsink first, will cause issues in later attachments, then use the screws from the INTEL pack (they are longer and you wont need them for anything else) and place the heatsink over the CPU, then gently attach the rungs to the heatsink little by little, when you get a firm hold, attach the fan and plug it in, hopefully that made sense :D

  • Excellent. Thank you.

  • Great video!

  • Are you Microsoft Sam :D Din't see no hands nor recognise a Human accent xD. Great tut.

  • @TehMaxLightning My hands are throughout this video.

  • @hpcbdvd Oh yeah I flopped. But your voice is VERY Microsoft Sam loool. Fix that.

  • @TehMaxLightning He can't just fix his voice you fucking moron.

  • Thanks

  • Fantastic video. I watched it before I installed mine and all seems to have gone to plan. I'm so glad you added the unboxing too since I thought it was sealed like most stuff so would have probably taken a knife to it :D

  • @sini8080 I'd love to make more unboxing and installation videos like this for lots of different components. Then tens of thousands of more people will see these new videos and be inspired to buy and install them. Are there any hardware makers watching? I've hinted before but come on. Send me hardware. I will make the videos people, will watch them and buy the hardware in them. Customers get good hardware and a video tutorial on how to install them. You get sales and I get adense revenue.

  • That was adsense revenue. Its a win, win, win situation is all I'm saying.

  • Specifically of which nature were the audience that this video was aimed for.

  • @BUBLOOGABLOO This was made as a part of our AMD CPU overclocking videos but we edited it together so everyone on YouTube could see how to install this cooler.

  • I have the antec 900 as well. Don't you hate the cable managment?

  • @moronist200 Its not the best but its better than most cases.

  • Anyone else notice the corroded head pipes ?

  • hi im a robot lmao

  • @MrAmazingScott yeah lol.

  • Hi I'm using an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU fan, on an ASUS m4a785td-v EVO.

The fan seems to be stuck at around 1900 to 2000 RPM, when it's advertised to go from 900 to 2500 RPM with PWM. Surely, with Q-Fan disabled, the fan should be running at the full 2500RPM? All software including the BIOS reports it at around 1900 to 2000 RPM. SpeedFan doesn't change anything. Q-Fan is disabled. W/Q-fan, max 5V voltage is 6V. How can I change the 12V voltage and will this increase the fan speed?

  • @1337RussianCoDPlay3r It may be that the motherboard is misreporting the fan's speed. I would try upgrading to the latest BIOS revision and see if that solves this. I checked and that motherboard has had 18 BIOS revisions so far. It won't let me post the link to the updated BIOSs here but if you go to the Asus support site you can find them.

  • @hpcbdvd

I got version 2103, which is second from latest version. 2105 is only for if you're booting from a RAID drive.

  • will this work on the lga 1155 socket????????

  • @TechNewsWeeklyMMXI Yes it is. Socket 1155 and 1156 are nearly identical. 1155 just has one less connection to the motherboard.

  • Thanks, very informative video. I just got one to go with my i5-760 as the stock cooler looks a bit pathetic. I also got some arctic cooling MX-4 thermal compound as the pre-applied stuff doesn't looks too good. Only problem for me is height, and as I have a side-mounting fan, according to my measurements, I will only have 2mm to spare at the top of the heatsink. Does the height include the copper heatpipes sticking out the top or not? If so it should be alright.

  • @brainiac777 I'm not sure but would say the height does include the ends of the heat pipes at the top. Arctic Cooling support would be able to tell you for sure.

  • Hi .... I am a robot .... LMAO !!!

  • Comment removed

  • Can you create a install guide for the AMD brackets if you can please ? :)

  • @formuna101 I'd love to but unfortunately our Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 is in use in one of our computers. It would be nice if we were sent another one so we could install it onto an AMD CPU and make a video of the process. Then another 50000+ people could watch it here on YouTube and be convinced to buy one of their own. Hint Hint, Arctic Cooling, Hint Hint.

  • this this damn installer just say "snug down the screw"??

  • Sam??!

  • @marctoro96 No!??

  • Don't buy it, it's shit!

  • @jamma246 Did you buy it? If so what happened?

  • @hpcbdvd

finally i got the problem sorted... the asus motherboard had smart fan enabled... now the fan is working perfectly fine.

and do buy it .. its quite and keeping my amd 955 very cool

    easy install

  • @hpcbdvd should it work with amd?

  • @cod4wujlele It works on AM3 / AM2+ / AM2 / 939 / 754 sockets. It will probably also work on the new AM3+ socket coming out this summer from AMD.

  • @jamma246 yeah what happend

i have just bought it and i will tell you my results

    I have an intel i5 760 @ 2.88GHz

Idle with the stock cooler which i replaced with the pro 7, temp 45C

On shogun total war on medium settings - 66C high 78C and very high - 80+ I have it set to shutdown at 80

The freezer pro idles at 28-30C medium - havent tested High - not tested Ver high - 48-50C

I love this cooler, its just amazing

  • tyhanks for the reply i did that .. i placed the cpu fan header into the PWR_FAN socket and it works fine ... however im sure it should be in the cpu_fan socket anyways its running now in the pwr_fan socket

will it be ok to leave it there?

  • @adilg89 It's possible the CPU isn't getting hot enough for the fan to spin. This is a feature found on a lot of motherboards to keep noise down and extend the life of the fan. What motherboard and CPU do you have?

  • @adilg89

    its an asus m4a79xtd

i used to have a different cpu in it.. which ran fine... i think ill leave the fan in the pwr_fan slot for now

  • ive bought this cpu cooler.. and atm the fan doesnt run.. yes i have put the cpu_fan connection in.. whenever i turn the computer on the fan shows an initial jolt.. then it doesnt spin.. once i spin it with my hand it spins fine.. .. any help appreciated}

    amd x2 7650

    450w branded psu

  • @adilg89 I have read that pressing down on the center of the fan for a moment will get it working. If that doesn't do it, as a test you can connect the cable to another fan header just to see if maybe the CPU fan header on the motherboard is bad. If it still doesn't spin I would return it for a replacement.

  • @adilg89 check that the cable isn't blocking the fan from spinning

  • @Fashi0ner

lol ... that would be funny

the motherboard had smart fan enabled which when i desiabled the fan is now working very happily lol

  • @adilg89 I suggested to check that because when I installed mine the fan didn't spin and it was because I had the cable stuck in the fan blades xD

  • @Grayhawk33 thanks for your help

  • Dear, hpcbdvd,

Excellent video! I were wondering if this cooler would fit in my motherboard, since I can't remove the old backplate of the cpu. My old cpu cooler came with my motherboard.

    Manufacturer: MSI - Model: Boston 1.0 - Chipset Intel P35/G33/G31 - Southbridge: Intel 82801GB (ICH7/R) - LPCIO: Fintek F71882F

    Thanks in advance,

    ThundeR

  • @ThundeRMr89 I can't tell from that information. Is this a store bought computer? If so what is the make and model of the computer?

  • @hpcbdvd Yes, it is a store bought computer. But I've replaced a lot inside it, but I don't believe that matter.

    Systemproducent: Compaq-Presario.

    My system model: FJ411AA-UUW- SR5532SC

    Thanks,

    ThundeR

  • @ThundeRMr89 It can matter because of the width of the case. It might be too narrow to handle the height of the cooler. That computer has a socket 775 motherboard and the width of the case looks wide enough. This cooler will work.

  • @hpcbdvd Dear hpcbdvd,

Thanks for fast reply! I think you might have misunderstood me. I wasn't to worryed about my case, and yes in fact it's 775 socket. I were worryed if Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 could fit in my old backplate, to my old CPU-Cooler. I've checked everywhere but I cannot find any info about my old CPU-cooler, all I know is it came with my computer. Is it possible to tell if the push pens will fit in my old backplate?

    Thanks agian,

    ThundeR

  • @ThundeRMr89 This cooler comes with its own bracket that doesn't require a backplate. You remove any parts of your original cooler and the pins go through the holes in the motherboard to attach the bracket to the motherboard.

  • @hpcbdvd Dear hpcbdvd,

Thanks for making that clear :) The raison I asked is because I failed at removing the backplate of my old CPU-cooler, couldn't get it off.

    ThundeR

  • Question, when building my PC used crap PSU which was 650W. It was not good enough to supply my PC with power. I replaced with a 600W Corsair and it worked fine did some simple overclocks and I was happy everything was working. But decided to get temperature program to monitor what I get. My GPU with overclock fine, but CPU I get high temps with no overclock! Question is how much power does stock cooler use and you think this cooler which uses 130W will actually be fine with my current PSU.

  • @TIZ012 The cooler doesn't actually use 130W. The 130W is a rating of CPU it can cool. A 130W cooler can cool a CPU that uses 130W. What CPU do you have, what are the temps your getting at idle and under load? Idle being when the CPU isn't doing anything but running Windows and Load being when the CPU is in heavy use by a program like Prime95 that maxes out the CPU. It may be that the cooler isn't on correctly. Let me know the CPU model and the temps.

  • @mycuteboys Compared to most reviews, and what my Tjcase perfect temps are 72.5C, they are pretty bad under load. Playing games about 1-2 hours I get a high of 71C on the coolest core and 74C on the hottest core. Idle after I start up is an average of 39C and after playing games and I leave the PC to rest and do nothing for half an hour Idle is about 42C-43C. I try playing with my window closed and under room temperature of about 20C-24C. Room doesn't get any warmer than that. CPU:i5-760@2.8GHz

  • @mycuteboys Btw thanks for that info I didn't know that lol. Awesome thumbs up :D

  • you must light up a Christmas party...... NOT

  • Brilliant Video.... keep the good work up

  • Good Video. What a simple install. My main worry is with having no back plate and the unit is 1.3 Lbs. that it doesn't stress/bend my mobo (?)

Is there a way to check if this cooler will block a RAM slot? I use all 4 . I can't tell from pics of my mobo and the coolers specs. I have a Gigabyte EP45-UD3L. I believe it should fit in my case which is a Coolermaster RC-690-KKN1-GP.

  • @paulvick2002 You may have a problem with your motherboard and the freezer 7 pro. I did a Google search for your motherboard model and freezer 7 pro and on a Corsair forum someone is saying the cooler covers the first RAM slot. Further down there is someone else with your motherboard and the freezer 7 pro and they don't mention a problem. The height of the RAM is something that you need to consider. If the RAM has an extra large heatsink that may make the difference.

  • Hi mate, cheers for the Vid. Quick question, will this fit an ASUS M4A78LT-M mobo if if has 4 RAM sticks installed? Cheers.

  • @RubberBullet91 I don't think it will be a problem. I did a Google search for "ASUS M4A78LT-M freezer 7 pro" and no one is complaining about it not clearing the RAM slots. To the trolls, I know that is a double negative.

  • @hpcbdvd I appreciate your quick response. Thanks mate =]

  • IS THIS COMPATIBLE WITH THE ASROCK N68C-S

  • @xblade2122 Yes it is. The ASROCK N68C-S is a socket AM3 motherboard and this cooler supports AMD AM3, Intel 775, 1156 and 1366 CPU sockets.

  • this guy speaks like an american Stephen Hawkins!

  • never use pre applied thermal paste, its that £0.50 shit you see on ebay (well have same temperatire readings) use Arctic silver 5 or arctic cooling MX-2 (MX-3 has poor spread so i dont use it) and apply about a small pea sized drop on the cpu's middle & apply cleaned heatsink.

  • @JamieD262 The Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 comes with the MX-2 compound pre applied.

  • @hpcbdvd really, the one i bought (1yr ago) had poor temperature readings & i had to re-apply some MX-2 thermal paste & had better results.

  • graeat very analyzt video!

    thank you!

  • I couldnt help notice you forgot the thermal grease or am I wrong? :O

  • @GamerFollower Actually the cooler already has the thermal compound applied. The video shows this about 56 seconds in. I'll put an annotation on the video to make it more noticeable.

  • Fantastic video and clear instructions. Nothing too much and nothing too little. With the highlighting features adding you make it clear as possible. Big thumbs up from me and now will feel comfortable buying and installing this fan.
