After several million years the eye becomes cup-shaped to improve depth perception and develops a lens and protective membrane. Evolution is not a chance process. Mutations occur by chance which produces variation. This variation is what undergoes selection. This selection is very much not a chance process. The characteristics that are selected for in this 'ocean' of variation are very distinct and the selection is governed by the environmental pressures.
These people need to take a class on evolution before they discredit it.They should remember that scientists are not out there to commit fraud.Theyre after the truth.

If I see a license plate "ABC-123" I can't go "wow what are the chances that I would see THAT license plate! Although there are many license plates the fact that the event has occured means there is no other alternative. The thing they don't understand is that something, like the eye, did not have to evolve. Suppose the eye did more harm than good, and something like echolocation was better, then we would all be using that. Or, the human eye could have gone a completely different way, perhaps if the atmosphere had depleted some and more ultraviolet rays had come in. Nothing in evolution is certain, and will only stay if it is beneficial. Saying the body can't change is like saying an embryo or baby can't grow up

Exactly. They look at it backwards. They see how life is, then just ASSUME this the ONLY way it could ever be, therefore the fact that conditions favour this life is proof of God's design or whatever not considering the fact that life could have been ANY thing. Even the argument that everything is just right is daft- the earth did not provide oxygen so we may live, rather WE are the ones who adapted and evolved lungs for aerobic respiration.

Oh dear, oh dear!! SO many mistakes in this video. I really hope that people don't take this seriously, although my hopes may be feeble. The biggest mistake was when she said that all of the components of the eye randomly formed at exactly the right place on the body, at exactly the same time. Firstly, they DIDN'T randomly form. The eye adapted and adjusted and improved over time; from the first "visual" species, to the human. Also, humans don't have the best vision... the Mobius spider does.

This has been demonstrated as absolute nonsense countless times, in books, videos, and in courts! The eys is far from perfect, it has a blind spot due to bad 'design' of optical nerve running over the retina. There are also better eyes separately evolved in nature. The Darwin quote is deliberately taken out of context. If you actually read the book, Darwin's next line answers the question. Finally, Evolution is not random chance. Such a claim demonstrates that you don't understand it.

This dramatically increased the probability of survival of those genes and, hence, they became more abundant in the population. The same process applies to the "best" light sensitive patches. The CHANCES of every planet and star beng round, when there are so many shapes to choose from, is SO improbable! But if you understand causal physical laws, you can EXPLAIN WHY they are all round.

Irreducible complexity has never been argued successfully.
Usually IDists use the whale or the bacteria flagellum as examples. Both of these have been SCIENTIFICALLY researched in response to IDists, and the research very much falls in line with evolutionary theory.
Furthermore, irreducible complexity is a philosophical attack on a SCIENTIFIC theory. It carries zero weight. Evolution is a 150 year old, falsifiable theory, and it has never been falsified SCIENTIFICALLY.

What violates the very objectivity of science itself is making philosophical arguments as a person of authority and claiming that they are science.
On the other hand, the issues of the evolution of the eye and other appendages have been successfully described in scientific journals, researched, and peer-reviewed. I would suggest taking a look at "The origin and evolution of animal appendages" - Panganiban et al. Published in PNAS

Sorry I never caught those words of wisdom before. I have heard plenty of professors, aspiring professors, and grad students (who have actually dealt with peer-review) describe it as one of the most excruciating and frustrating experiences of their lives.
Not to mention, attacking the peer-review process does not damage the credibility of a single product of peer-review.
