Originally I did this with VHS. This particular version was made with Apple's iMovie, but the VHS version is available via the response link.
Music videos have basically been around since before MTV even. It's really only been since the evolution of the Internet that people have been able to make decent, semi-pro-looking vids and been able to share them with the world.
HAHah i remembor seeing the video for "through the grapevine" by marvin gay..weither that was like the first music ever or not who knows. still im not sure if having imovie and windows movie maker is for good or evil. in this case GOOD shall reign but sometimes..online homemade mvs can make you cry with the horror.
When they first recovered the pilot from the archives, all they were able to find was a black & white print. The spliced then spliced this together with colour footage from 'The Menagerie'. Eventually, they colorized the black and white parts. When first released on VHS they released both the All-Colour version and the version mixed with B/W and Colour. They did the same for the DVD release.
One thing, however, some of the scenes that were in B/W vs Colour on the VHS are different from the DVD. The scene in this vid is an example actually. On the VHS it was in B/W, but colour in the DVD. Since it was B/W in my original VHS version of this video, I removed the colour from the same scenes when I did this remaster from the DVDs.
Ok, who is that getting hit at 0:55 - 0:57? Is that Ben Finney? B'cause it sure ain't Kirk! Its the first time it occurred to me but I think Kirk's stunt double is the guy who played Ben Finney in Court Marshal. If any of you trivia buffs can confirm, I'd love to know.
By "Remastered" here, I mean they are newer versions of older videos I made several years ago. The original versions of my videos were made from VHS tapes edited via an analog system of two VHS machines. My newer "remastered" videos, are new versions of the old ones, made from clips captured from the DVDs and edited digitally using just Apple's iMovie. The new ones are using basically the same clips as the old ones as well as the same song. They look better from the DVDs and digitally edited.
To learn what episode each clip in the video is from, check out my Episode Identifier version of this video (should be the response on the left above).
this is really cool I think the song is awsome and the video is really cool Leonard Nimoy is such a great actor I hope he will be around for a verry long time to come!!!!!
Mr Spock was just brilliant, he was by far one of the best characters out of Star Trek. Also for a man who had hardly any emotions he sure kissed a lot of women xD
Hahaha, "Very nice Mr. Ears!" That was great man, just soooo great. I love your McCoy one the best though. Keep making more, because the turn out awsome everytime! =D
Oh YAY! A spock video that's not dripping with gayness! Can't we just let spock be spock and not Kirk, McCoy, or President Bush's gay lover??? 5 STARS!!! Kudos!
I believe in keeping my videos true in spirit to the character I'm paying tribute to. I do take some poetic license here and there, though, but never in the direction of the vids you're harping on.
While I personally do not feel that any of us are truly animals as Darwin would have us believe, I do feel that our mortal lives can carry and exemplify positive animal spirits at times. As Spock is Vulcan and therefore different from humans, this song tends to fit quite well. Personally though, I do believe that all of us share the one Spirit of God in one grand brotherhood of man.
Outstanding! Wonderful selection of themes, and the song works well. Thank you for sharing this!

Thanks. The VHS copy I made for a friend, way back when, and it was good for what it was, but the update from the DVDs was definitely needed.

They were both being controlled like puppets by people with psycho-kinetic abilities in the episode "Plato's Stepchildren".

Great video. Now consider that Spock would think this video was unnecessary.

This song suits Commander Tuvok as well. Spock and Tuvok were the best Vulcans ever. Sorry T'pol.

The 1st video response above identifies which episode each clip comes from in this video.
The 2nd video response above is subtitles, useful to catch all the words in the song, or if you want to sing-a-long.

Yes. true, specially since Vulcans aren't real. but yes, same idea. if they were real, Jesus would have died for them just the same.
