@viktorhat Look up some stuff from the studio that made this series. Paranoia Agent, Monster, Gungrave, and Trigun were all done by these guys. As for tips, I really can't help you much there. Anime is a pretty diverse thing, and has its share of bad shows. Look up reviews/ratings on sites like Anime news network, and look up series in the Seinen genre. Not all of them are guaranteed to be good, but they tend to be more dark which is what you seem to like.

@NadesicoFan The Problem is: Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien and Elfen Lied listed at best 10 of all time at AnimeNFO, for example. If you check the top 200 list you'll see lots of hyped animes ( mostly cliches and copies of each other ) and a few that are really good for life, not for one summer. Idiocracy everywhere... :-(
