While it's a shame the guy who made this has moved on to other things, it's good he's pursuing something he loves to do and all. This was simply amazing! After a slightly strange beginning, it just got better and better as the movie progressed. I loved it.

Silent Hill is NOT about redemption. It's about delving into your subconscious, your mind. And understanding yourself; discovering the truth. Whether that ends up as good or bad, is up to themselves. Look at Eddy; Angela. Their experience in SH does not end up as "good". It all depends on the character, and who they are. SH gave James(and Harry, in some ways) a chance to redeem himself. It's not always going to be that way. SH gives you the truth. In Michael's case, you saw where that led.
Yes, Silent Hill is about getting past deceptions, but at the same time, it's also about growing beyond your limitation. (Ex: like a child becoming an adult.)
I'm sure this could be done as a movie Final Destination and other gore loving movie have been done like this before.
However, I've yet to play a Silent Hill game, in which, the player is screwed no matter what he does. I really don't think this plot could work game wise. (Maybe if they modified it like I said before.)
Yeah I get what you're saying. But that's what makes this video/movie unique. It's in the title, isn't it? "No Escape". I understand that it wouldn't work as a game, but maybe that's because it's not meant to be a game. It shows the vulnerability of the human persona, and that just because they're the main character, doesn't mean that they are going to be able to win/be redeemed. It goes along with the theme of No Escape. Anyways, this is what I think, but I understand where you're coming from.
It could work as a game, if you add different endings, but there was indeed a SH game where in the 'true ending' (It was said by the team that worked on SH orginally that this was the real ending), the main character dies. Though no games have it where you get screwed in the end because of the multiple endings fact, it all counts on what the real ending is.
(SPOILER SH2) So, James Sunderland in SH2 didn't kill his wife, because he didn't want to spend any more time with her deathbed? I really don't see a lot of positive endings in that game. I look at the "no escape" title more as the fact that in SH games there is never a real escape. All the characters I can remember (now there is some time since I've played them) still carry baggage when the game is over.

In Leave, James never stops his desire to find his wife, Mary and keeps Maria at arm's length. Because of this, James finally has a last moment with Mary, to be able to say the things he didn't say before. James flings aside all of the delusion he used to hide himself from reality. And with deep and abiding love, Mary forgives James and puts his mind to rest about the whole horrible mess.
James gets a second chance, as Laura also forgives him. The letter James reads in this ending implies that he will follow Mary's last wish to adopt Laura and give her a real home. It's a true new beginning, which is what James always wanted.
This is an awesome movie. Hard to believe it is a fan made movie. I seen all of them. The person who made this should really be working on silent hill games as well as some other games.
I been following this story for 2 days. Excellent story. The only thing i didnt like was the over-size monster at the end. Alot of people says it should be the story for SH6 well I say,it shounld'nt cuz its already been told but the person who created this story should produce SH6.

The end was very sad. I hoped Michael was going to get out alright, instead, the Devil overpowered him over and he lost his mind. It was good overall, and I love the Silent Hill soundtrack in it. Especially "Promise."
well maybe, i'm saying the end seems kind of like homecoming where you find out that the protagonist is actually a mental case instead of a marine, depending on what ending you get could land yourself back in the mental home. It also seemed as if they took ideas from Jacobs ladder.
Amazing work, this really takes fan work to a whole new level.
The story was catching and twisted, I was on the edge of my seat till the very end. It is such a tragic tale but its nice to see that not all great movies need to have a happy ending.
Other than that there were only two things that bugged me and that was that the sound would go jumpy at certain parts and also the no voice actors (which is fine it was because I kept expecting sound to come out of their mouths).
I wish that you will be the one who will be the BEST DIRECTOR of the next SILENT HILL 6 because it looks so fantastic even i am the viewer would be scared of all the episodes you made. it's amazing how it hooks you up. i mean: the animation is poor, textures are almost monocromatic,no voices,no connection to SH storyline, but... only by the direction and script this movie is far more silent hill that the real SH movie (that btw did nothing but riproposed us pieces of the games,while this movie(a fan, one man made movie)is filled with original ideas). somebody at konami HAS to notice this guy and at least make him try to work out something. ps: great claustrofobic sensation.

wow... the most genius part of this movie is how your trying to figure out what is happening to michael and bit by bit, you learn more and more until you realize he was just another person in this world who's mind fell into darkness and insanity. this movie is all about the thoughts of a person who goes insane.

I must say I quite enjoyed that film, I practically already knew what was going on with him at the time...Sad fate for a tragic man....but call me a cruddy critic, but I thought the pacing of it all was a bit too slow at times....and the demons didn't really look too Silent Hill-like because they have faces, all of them...the demons in SH the series didn't have faces mostly...but I still love this movie and hope to see a better thing from Silent Hill in the future...SILENT HILL RULES!! -Toby out

This is very well done. Having watched the whole series now, I think it was a shame that it became a little cliche about halfway through. Also...the particular use of religious imagery felt more along the lines of the Gans movie than the game series. The personal hell of a Nietzche wannabe, perhaps?

it's amazing how it hooks you up. i mean: the animation is poor, textures are almost monocromatic,no voices,no connection to SH storyline, but... only by the direction and script this movie is far more silent hill that the real SH movie (that btw did nothing but riproposed us pieces of the games,while this movie(a fan, one man made movie)is filled with original ideas). somebody at konami HAS to notice this guy and at least make him try to work out something. ps: great claustrofobic sensation.

wow... the most genius part of this movie is how your trying to figure out what is happening to michael and bit by bit, you learn more and more until you realize he was just another person in this world who's mind fell into darkness and insanity. this movie is all about the thoughts of a person who goes insane.

It's amazing to me that this is a fanmade movie, and yet it's by far scarier than the REAL movie. I never thought anyone was capable of outdoing Silent Hill, but man... This is the shit, right here. :D

I must say I quite enjoyed that film, I practically already knew what was going on with him at the time...Sad fate for a tragic man....but call me a cruddy critic, but I thought the pacing of it all was a bit too slow at times....and the demons didn't really look too Silent Hill-like because they have faces, all of them...the demons in SH the series didn't have faces mostly...but I still love this movie and hope to see a better thing from Silent Hill in the future...SILENT HILL RULES!! -Toby out

This is very well done. Having watched the whole series now, I think it was a shame that it became a little cliche about halfway through. Also...the particular use of religious imagery felt more along the lines of the Gans movie than the game series. The personal hell of a Nietzche wannabe, perhaps?
