The difference between them is that Mall uses simple, effective beats. He knows many tricks, but doesn't use them. Khalsi is not afraid to bring dhol playing into the 21s century - Mall is not boring - but the sound of traditional playing is not as appealing to young players as it was back then.

I haven't even seen Lal Singh Bhatti play, but i have seen JK play and the dude is just INSANE. You can't draw comparisons based on stupid youtube clips.
yes ive seen both play live. I know both very well. Different styles of playing but in terms of cleanliness, beats, timing and style, LSB is in a different class.
