PJ Harvey, Bjork, and Tori Amos are the sexiest women in music, and the most honest that I've heard. They are sexy with their clothes on and off. Pj Harvey's honesty in her song writing is what attracts me to her. I think I love her just because. No reason. Love is like that you know, and I only have 2 of her albums. i stopped buying CDs 10 years ago. I guess I need to get used to buying online. Somebody let me know when she is coming to Austin Tx. i want to take my wife to see her live.

One of the greatest artists of current times. I teach her to my A-level Communication and Culture Class, especially in regards to Feminist Theory. What fun to watch 17 year olds deconstruct the lyrics and video to such classics as "Dress." Polly is so articulate, so spot on. Not always pretty to listen to but so intelligent and so, so, just WITH the human condition. She continues to grow and fascinate as an artist and she will always inspire me. Genius.

she was describing the modern music mainstream to perfection. Everything is the same and homogenized and boring. Anytime 'Umberella' is considered to be new and exciting something wrong. I like some modern music for what it is but I have to have PJH and Sonic Youth to maintain my sanity.

do you know what? A shit-ton of guys sing angry music, and nobody says a word (Axl Rose? Trent Reznor? Blah blah), but let a woman sing anything that doesn't sound sugar and spice and nice, and you get all these lame-assed questions about "do you think people think you're angry?" Absolutely. There is a lot of shouting and faux-angst but nothing really being said...(Avenged Sevenfold, Hinder, Seether, Puddle Of Mudd, The Used, etc. etc.) The industry really needs an eviceration...we should overthrow the CEO of Capitol records and put Harvey in charge....

no surprise - Harvey is an artist and does it for the love of the music - if other people like it and she can make a living at it, bonus. The no talent twits are in it for the money and the fame, not because they particularly get satisfaction for the music
