I totally agree, what a game. I was about 7, when it came out. watched my brothers try and play, it was solid.

and really scary. 13 years or so later, playing it now still creeps me out..... the music, the dark hallways.

I really hope that, in the modern world of black ops, fifa and such... these masterpieces are not forgotten!

re5 and re1 have nothing in common. the first resident evil was about managing scarce supplies, solving puzzles, and killing a low amount of monsters in a tight place. As a player i got the genuine feeling of trying to get out of there alive, few games gave me that feeling. resident evil 5 is a more action-oriented game, i never got scared or anything. I felt the goal there was kill everything, not just staying alive.

true, but usually when they a remake or rerelease, it's usually b/c of a storyline gap or it was missing some things that didn't make sense unless you connected it. For this case, it was the whole Lisa Trevor thing. Plus they added the crimson heads. Which are scary as hell. but the dumb retarded zombies are going to be missed.

I don't agree with you at all. They didn't do the remake for storyline purposes considering that the whole Lisa Trevor subplot is of no importance at all in the overall storyline of the Resident Evil series.

Capcom made it rather to content their fans who wanted a remake of their favourite game for a long time. Plus, if it had to do with plot gaps, then it is the entire series that should have been remade.

well, yes and no. it depends how you look at it. When they first started with the first re game, they had b movie actors and cheesy stuff and I don't think that's how they want the series to be part of. So when they did get money, they could make it to the surreal world they were trying to convey in the first place. and yeah it's for the fans too.the story gaps would be the whole umbrella chronicles thing for that for the wii.

yeah, the remakes are awesome, but sometimes you can "always" do that later, especially if they did that for at least a few games. especially having a complete series is better than an incomplete one I guess. Plus, like Wii, I guess you could download the games.
