for the price the item should come with headset and an extra cable for work use. maybe a dock. I mean look at mytouch from tmobile that's a nice package. for $149. not to mention Iphone. step up cause you do want me to stick for another 2 years.
I was going to get the Pre, but I think I'm going after the Hero now. I owned a Iphone 3g on At&t, but it just wasn't "open" enough. I don't like jailbreaking and voiding my warranty just to get the apps I want. congrats to google for the Android marketplace.
I can't wait for the hero. It's so much better than the Iphone. You are able to move from screen to screen without having to get out of each application like on the Iphone and the widgets are user-friendly.
the hero and mytouch have the same processor, but the hero as more ram which is important for an android phone. also the hero is the first phone in the usa to have htc sense , and htc footprints. the hero also has pinch to zoom in and out unlike the mytouch.
Everyone keeps calling it the HTC Hero, but it looks like the HTC Magic/T-Mobile MyTouch. I guess we'll know the real deal when the specs are released....
Yeah, it seems like everyone is trying to keep up with iPhone and its app store.
Unfortunately, everyone keeps making bad decisions and hasnt quite gotten anything as solid as Apple's solution. As much as I hate to admit that, as I dislike Apple.
iphone is old news, everyone and they fucking momma got a damn iphone, aint nothing new or speacial about the iphone. android is where its at!!! yea baby!!
yes it is but seriously google needs to get on those big names to start making games for android..because iphone games kill android games in everyway possilble...thats the only thing i miss about my iphone..the rest was just worthless next to my hero
I like this phone, but the pre looks so much better. The home screen looks way too cluttered and i don't think its processsor can handle the amount of apps it has open at the same time the way the pre does. After a month of using this phone it will lag like a bitch guaranteed. But this phone is a good palm pre alternative i guess. it's gonna be 20 dollars cheaper at 179.99 on sprint. good luck deciding though on which phone to get. I'd still favor the pre over this phone just barely
I have the instinct and the pre, I am loving both phones at the moment. But I'm intrigued by this "android" thing popping up. I didn't know the G1 had it (sorry not to techy, trying to change that) and now I'm even more intrigued by the hero.
Palm pre has its advantages with its web os, but i would go Hero over it!! Android Market looks great, and the hardware and software of this device looks promising;)
Thank you Sprint . This is what you do to compete with the iphone great decision. All though i must agree with everyone else should left the look alone, but long as the hardware is better or the same as the original i will be in line Oct. 11 . Catch all the android phans there.
Why did they remove the chin? It looks nothing like the old Hero. This "American" Hero looks really cheap compared to European model. it looks too ordinary now. I was really looking forward to this but Im only forgiving Sprint if they 1. added a larger processor (phone looks thicker...) to reduce the issue of sluggishness known on the euro model, and 2. if they add more colors (specifically a more glossier white) to their lineup of HTC Hero's. If not then im fine with my brick G1.
i love how when people compare how many apps android ,windows mobile and the iphone has but not look at when those devices came out lol like all those yrs don't matter just the here and how those head starts don't count
Sprint is finally getting phones worth having, that added with the best value and great network and I think they should start doing a lot better. AT&T sucks and the Iphone should be on all carriers and will be at some point but I am a happy sprint customer right now and for some reason that's hard to come by on the net lol but I've had nothing but great service with them and I'm glad to see they are really starting to push for good phones
this looks so much more sleek and pocketable than the original version too bad ATT wasnt getting this cause i would LOVE TO HAVE THIS its the first phone in a while i have seen and said i want tht.
First off, I've been on WM since about 2k also. Im so glad android finally made it, and welcome anyone to try this phone, I also can't wait, but think it's going to be an awesome business phone as well.
no im not a business person but im very comfortable with windows mobile iv had only windows mobile phones since 2000 i believe. also I'm sure typing on the hero isn't bad at all but I like having a big hardware keyboard to bang out whatever im typing easily cuz i have the touch pro now and I know i can type on that without looking... but the hero is the first non wm smartphone without a kb that i'v ever seriously considered... like i even actually like the way it looks... and I didn't expect 2
Lol, i would but i just realized I'm too invested in wm with all the software I own... :/ but I'm in full support of the hero otherwise! ugh darn it! well kudos sprint! they did a good job on this one!
Dave, why did Sprint remake this phone into an aesthetic turd? Was it the same guy who styles your hair?

$349.99 with a $69.99 Everything Data Plan (which is the lowest possible plan you can get for it)
WildBoy454 2 years ago
No thats the touch pro 2, the Hero will be 179.99 with a 2 yr contract on the 69.99 everything data plan
maithiunas1171 2 years ago 2
My question is, what is the htc's hero's stock price with chin by sprint. No 2 yr. contract, no evertthing data plan, just stock. Thank you.
gator3395 2 years ago
Thats correct
mightymojnir 2 years ago
I know. a Sprint employee gave me false info
WildBoy454 2 years ago
you fail. clear fail. the hero is 179.99 with 2 yr contract at best buy.
brianv3ntura 2 years ago
what do you mean 180? like we can just upgrade for 180, even if we been with sprint for less than a year?????

The hardware is slower than the Pre which is kind of disappointing, but it seems they fixed the lagging problems with a firmware update.

Volume of apps matters. There is a lot of software I use on my Windows Mobile phone that I need to see on Android or Web OS before I can switch.
