Okay this FL beat is pretty impressive. I currently use FL Studio but I'm thinking about trying out ableton too. I'm still watching the video and waiting for the ableton beat. This FL beat is so damn hot. Okay I think the ableton is starting, yeah it is lol. hang on. Okay the ableton beat isn't bad, but it's not nearly as good. I'm guessing you have more experience with FL though.
i have both but i prefer fl its easier than reason ...reason is confusing :D ,but fl is simple ,and easy if u have a talent.how lex luger is making money on fl studio he is the beast in trap music who can make a better beat in reason .for me flstudio is great
both softwares are great to use.i mainly create dirtysouth type of music so i prefer fruityloops because that has the best sound for dirty south but reason has the best sound for piano and live sounding instruments so they both have ups and down sides to them but both or powerful and just as good as hardware
So true, so true. You can give a man every fucking daw and gadget and he can produce nothing. I was crankin decent beats on FL3 and have stuck with it, although I am going to start using reason just to expand my horizons.
i dont think people understand that its the plugins and vsts that actually make the sounds not the program, so if you have good vst and plugins that u have bought etc then any program can be professional
THE QUALITY OF THE SOUND ITS NOT ABOUT THE BEAT OR REACORDING SOFTWARE COZ ALL OF THEM SPECIALLY NOW DAYS CAN GIVE U 16 N 24 BIT ECT.. SO THE QUALITY OF THEM ALL ARE THE SAME..THE QUALITY ITS ABOUT THE COMPUTER WHICH NOW DAYS THEY ALL GOOD.. N PLUS THE PLUGING BUT MORE IMPORTAN ITS THE USER WHO N WHAT MAKES THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCTION GOOD OR BAD NOTHING ELSE. ALSO PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THAT HARDWARE ITS BETTER THEN SOFTWARE BUT IF U REALLY THINK ABOUT IT, HARDWARE EQUIPMENT THEY ARE COMPUTERS TOO
The song you created in FL is better for sure. But if you had made the exact same song in reason, you would've been able to tweak it to make it sound just PERFECT. You'll always be limited by FL studio, even if it does allow you to throw things together a little more quickly or easily for you.
I am a producer and I have to say, that one of the BEST features of FL Studio that really makes it stand out, is the easy reach for your samples. I go bananas trying to get my samples on other programs like Reason or Sonar...thats why i love FL Studio :)
reason is designed to be like you are using real audio modules, and gives you as much freedom as you would have in real audio hardware, fl studio is designed for the more modern market, as an advanced user of both, i prefer reason, but I can make just a good a song using either one
IMO its all preference. Fl Studio is said to have an easier learning curve then reason, it looks better and the playlist/sequencer is amazing. But the sounds that come out of the box for FL are just lacking. Reason has great "out of the box" sounds but you could only wish you could use FL's sequencer/playlist with it.
They both have their strengths and weaknesses, do like a million others have said and use both.
if u have musician skills it dosent matter the program, its really about if i like the synth modding in a certian program, and personally i find fl studio to be very aggravating when trying to use midi, and just clicking notes in is not gonna get you famous
reason is very techincal when it comes to creating a particular sound although fl studio is simple and yet powerful depending on how u use it both softwares rock. ima fl user and recently upgraded to fl 10 which is amazing so in the end it all depends on the person's preference.
I'm sorry, everybody, listen, I know people say FL Studio isn't professional enough or it doesn't accomplish all the needs of a producer, but you have to agree with me that mainly every other DAW on the market is ugly as hell. Reason, Logic, Ableton, Cubase, all of them. I mean, really ugly. They all look like freaking Midi Studio, but really compacted and unintelligible.
@TasmanianPower Worked with FL Studio for years, switched to Reason for a year now and I'm never looking back. FL Studio can be "ok" if you slap some VST's to it, but to me any good product has to be good out of the box, which Reason does. Combine that with Record and you got an awesome app that is also very efficient with your CPU.
I really think that its all about the creator of the music. Any asshole can go and get the best drums and cymbals, and produce nothing. I heard a man play a bucket like it was full on percussion section. When it comes to the arts, which music is included, the artist renders with what he has. It goes back to the "mozart is better than beethoven" or vice versa. Whatever your ears tell you, not your computer.
@gnpgoldy Sure its about the creator, but if you have little to work with you will get little results. Doesn't mean it can't be impressive, but not every program can be the right tool for the job. I worked with FL Studio (or Fruityloops as it was called) since the beginning, the very first edition and I can see why many people like it. However, I'm judging a DAW purely at what it presents out of the box and FL scores very poor there. Although without VST-support, Reason is packing.
@gnpgoldy One of the reasons I turned in such a big Reason-supporter is because you can make litterally anything with it. With all the synths it has onboard, the Kong Drum Designer, Dr. Rex etc. and all the different effects you can make (ánd record) about every genre you want. How about FL Studio? How many serious rock / metaltracks have you heard out of FL that didn't sound like ass? FL can do trance and hiphop/r&b pretty well, but thats really about it. The UI is pretty nice though.
well I guess I am going to see what I can do with reason. I have been impressed with some of the sounds I have heard from it. Question: How far out can homemade samples be manipulated with reason? I use mostly my own samples so this is an important part of my musical experience.
@gnpgoldy If you use Reason in combination with Record (or just Reason 6) you can pretty much do anything. If you mean drumsamples then its very easy to create your own librabry of sounds.
2nd beat is so space-like and dope. i use FL studio and im thinking about going to reason. fl can do anything so i might as well stick to what i have so much invested in, it seems like...

None of them, it's just the user.
But FL has Audio Tracks and in Reason you need to have Record (or another program)
But yeah, I like Cubase and Logic over these hehe.
