hey u all are haterz harlingen cardinal bands are the best we are the ones kicking every other bands asses dont hate cuz where the best you all should see our band live then give us your comments! weve had band directors come from all over the states and world video taping us trying to make their own bands better then us but they cant cuz where the best!!! go cards!!!

Harlingen won because they did what the judges wanted. By this I mean that general effect was a biggie, and technique/tone/ and other musical aspects did not count as much. They were the best band when judged in the overall entertainment aspect.

with good marching, good playing and it was a good SHOW.....wow be happy for what it is

and you are right edinburg did have a good show, as well as hanna but your criticizing harlingen on their show.....their still a great marching band...apparently your not looking at the marching or playing aspect as much as the show

What people still do not realize is that this was a BOA contest. General Effect counted more towards the overall score. The other bands wouldn't have been able to have come close to Harlingen, they don't DANCE or SING in their MARCHING band.

your the one that's being arrogant! you assume that we never get out of the valley. we hate the fact that we pour our souls into our show, we push our bodies too the limit by marching at up too speeds of 210 and have so much going on in our 98 sets its crazy. then another band shows up. one with about 40 sets; metallica "music". and there the ones who get first place? is that fair? in boa apparently it is. i think lopez desserved fist place,

This was one of the best shows of that night regardless of what all these idiots say on this page. The only thing I have to disagree on was best Colorguard. Throughout the competition i thought the best colorguards were Edinburg High, Los Fresnos, Rio Hondo, and Weslaco East. Harlingen's guard is really small, it used to be huge and really good. I think if they had all the girls using flags at all time, it would make the show that much better

You guys can say we don't deserve 1st place till pigs fly but if you look at the judges comments sheets and their score sheets, they all put us first place. Like we have been told before -- "Don't hate, appreciate." :) HHS has excellent marching fundamentals. Anywhere from the way we position our horn, our traverse, to the way we march. Out playing is pretty beast as well. :) We are always one of the smallest band but we definitively outplay you big band. "Don't hate us cause you ain't us." :)

I am VERY proud to say I am am member of the Big Red Cardinal Band. :) I take alot of pride in what we do. We don't let all the negative comments bother us. If anything we take them and prove that when we compete we do deserve that first place trophy along with all the caption awards. Our and works extremely hard and very productive. I belong to Edinburg High School, and proud of it. We had a better show than Harlingen and it clearly shows on the judges' score sheets that we had a better performance.

EVERY BAND will have a downfall. Look at Spring HS, LD Bell, Westfeild, etc. But they always came back stronger the years after. Edinburg had a good show. Hope EHS can maintain there credibility next yr...if they make it to state

Hello? BOA? Bands of America?? These judges know what they are talking about. They have seen a variety of shows and know which are good shows and which aren't. Area G means nothing because the judges there are very biased. They all come from Texas and know who "should" get a 1 or go on to state. Edinburg is certainly the best band in our zone. And its "Edinburg" FYI.

Quite frankly, this is a "comment" and i plan to do just that.

Yeah that all sounds really nice on paper, but the fact of the matter is, it was just an all valley competition. And also, its a new season and new year. Quit living the glory days and justifying that you guys were the best, because at one point, you guys were. But this year, you guys are slowly falling down to the bottom.

Harlingen sucked this year. Quit QQing and you deal with it. Edinburg had a excellent show along with Lopez and Sharyland this season. This show was a flop. End of story. Like I said: "New year and new season." Anything can happen. Even Harlingen High School Band can fall from their throne.

We focus on a clean style.

We're also taught to play with a well balanced sound. If Lopez did in fact have the better show...they would of gotten first. The outcome is nothing but the truth. (Take a look at the judging sheets) So instead of putting down a wonderful music program, and kids that works hard for 1st place, you should help the other bands improve. I'm guessing you support Lopez, you sound rather biased. :)

Yup exactly Sadie, if people would stop criticizing and actually take a look at the marching they would know why you all got first. There looks to be some 4-to-5 marching while playing and I don't think anyone else did that.

i think every one agrees that harlingen marches and plays very well, but most peaple dont like that they march so little. just look at state finals last year...none of those would ever even think of doing 40 sets. im sure that if we marched 40 sets they would also be that clean. but it doesent matter because we both got a 1 at pigskin. i hope you guys also do well in your next contest, thanx

Someone told me that during the finals awards Kanye West went up to Harlingen when they received their 1st place trophy and briefly took it out of their hands and shouted, "Yo Harlingen, I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish, but Hanna had one of the best marching shows of all time!".
