Like the chains on Humanity that you fought to shatter every day, the pain of this life has finally slipped away.
Yet know this as you go: We, the generations you taught and mentored so well, WILL continue the struggle for Freedom, even if we have to march to hell.
Dear brother -- It could have been me, but instead it was you. So I'll keep doing the work you were doing as if I were two. Your song is heard and I know the words and I'll sing them til we're free.
wow the song's structure is similar to common's song. when was this played? maybe it was too old for common to remember it and based his song on palnent rock instead
great song, I actually heard this song way before common dropped his and was surprised that common bought that flow to modern music. Just the same as he and kanye did GSH's My way Home.
Naw im sure he means Gil Scott Heron, people say its influenced by Africa B. but the only similarities i see is how they used the sound. But common's rapping is the same rhythm as Gil Scott's at certain points of the song.

the new no knock laws are way more intrusive on our rights than the ones from the 60s and 70s thanks to 9/11 hysteria.

Nah man. It's all good, I just wanted to see what type of reaction the worlds' most blatantly obvious question would invoke.
