  • Noticed it says "Harry J. Anslinger" on the high school. Is there some sort of "inside" joke here?

  • I'M HEP!

  • ♥Skittery!

  • A hop and a skip to tasty town!

  • It's even more impressive that all of the women are dancing in high heels.

  • Well, I don't know about all that boy stuff.

  • Jack is back there doin' "The Creep" John Waters style.

  • Anyone else notice the Murder theme in the background at 3:57

  • Anyone else realize that Mickey is Skittery from Newsies?

  • @Mistophoenix That was pretty much the first thing I noticed when I first saw this movie. It was kind of embarrassing, considering none of my friends had ever seen Newsies, and I was totally freaking out.

  • You just have to LOVE how Mary keeps on dancing while talking to Jimmy!

  • "Well .... I don't know about all that BOY stuff!"

    CLASSIC.

  • @TheAngryGazebo i think thats my fav part of this song! lol.

  • "Mickey!" "I'm Hip."

  • I wouldn't mind takin' a bit out of that tahmaytah....I'm hep!

I LOVE this movie. When my friends ask to watch it, I tell them I'm watching it in my head right now. And when you don't want to watch the whole movie, the next button on your DVD player switches to a song scene! Handy!

  • I had no idea that Neve Campbell could sing OR dance... Huh.

  • @muffinsphinx I didn't know she could sing, but she was a classically trained ballerina before she started acting.

  • HAHAHA I hadnt realized the name of the school before that amaZing! LOVE IT!

  • I guess your not the hep cat I took you for. *DOUBLE GASP!"

  • @XxPumpkinSpicexX OHHHH YESSS!!

  • Am I to understand that all what Jimmy has been through with that demonical reefer was within a WEEK?! LOL

  • Alan Cumming is so awesome in this movie...

Hell, EVERYONE is awesome in this movie.

  • I noticed the sign on the high school is "Harry J. Anslinger High School". Is there some sort of double-meaning/implication intended here?

  • @zooeyhall I think he made pot illegal

  • @zooeyhall Herry J. Anslinger was Willian Randolph Hearsts chief crusader for the prohabition of hemp and pot in the 1920s ans 30s. He is chiefly way pot, a relitivly banien drug was made illiagel on the natinal lavel.

Hearst wanted hemp production curtailed becouse he was heavely invested in wood pulp paper production. Hemp paper was the compatision he needed eliminating, and outlawing pot was the way to do it.

  • @zooeyhall Harry J. Anslinger, first commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics... he was the country's first "Drug Czar". He was responsible on the federal level for getting marijuana made illegal (he needed an "enemy" to establish his position and the newly created office, and marijuana was an easy target at the time). He is the guy that started the "War on Drugs"... along with William Hearst and others.

  • @brch2 I think I read somewhere that he was also Hearst's nephew.

  • "Jimmy ! Did you hear the announcement at school today ? Next week President Roosevelt's coming to town !" "WOW ! You know, my Pop says he's a labra appeasing supreme court packing Bolshevik !"

  • No. It just makes you a good person.

  • Well it's actually another song from the film, "Murder" dont know the style though, swing?

  • @titiego, I would say that this would be jazz, but a latin jazz. :) Hope that helps. You can find information on it anywhere, my favorite latin jazz musician would probably be arturo sandoval with his awesome trumpet skills, you should look into him :)

  • yeah the other numbers look sort of 40s but sound more modern due to the electric guitars and basses.

  • Is it bad that I've seen this movie so many times that I know this ENTIRE dance? lol

...it's funny because FDR couldnt even walk!

  • @IW2GIN Actually, FDR never went out in public with his wheelchair and a majority of the public thought he could walk normally.

  • @IW2GIN OMG...I never even thought of that (I know you left this comment 2 years ago...but total WIN).
