changing the gradients from black to white or white to black works when you use the mask layer ofcourse :D

hey um...How do you get so when you let go of the eliptical form at 5:00.for me it stays eliptical and says that the area is not editable when i use gradient tool.Can this be becuase i have photoshop cs4?
