So those that were "half castes" were from an illegal union and therefore were not given a Name group name BY ABORIGINALS. That is why Full bloods still have their tribal naming group name and the half castes don't. The half castes did not fit into a strict aboriginal culture practiced for thousands of years where all from an illegal union were shunned or killed.

There were other problems, death of parents, and all the other problems associated with the clash of cultures, alcohol etc but in the very few cases of children removed from their parents it was done for the child's percieved welfare and protection.

Never was it done because they wanted to "breed out the colour"

These rules for marraige had to be strictly enforced by aboriginal people and were punishable by death, expulsion (pointing the bone) and killing of the offenders offspring.

The terrible part was white men passing through having sex with the aboriginal women.

Aboriginal naming groupings meant many had the same name.

This was used quite ingeniously by aboriginal people to stop interbreeding in small groups, only those of certain name groups could marry.

Eg. Jundamarras could only marry jacamarra's etc.

This created problems for the welfare people so thats why alot of full blood aborigines have european first names so they could work out who was who.

Actually I've studied at university and extracurricularly and have seen much of the world, I am just wary of aborigines because they are the only people who have tried to mug me or beg from me without actually deserving.

Hey its just been my experience in how I've been treated by people all around the world. I still work with aborigines, I've hung out with them at school, in my travels and many are cool - I don't seek to generalise. Why? For a population thats less than 5% of the population they form the majority populations in jails.
