  • now that .22 pistol I do like.

  • Three questions

    1. Can it use real 1911 grips?

    2. Is it reliable?

    3. is it under $400?

  • @TACTICALCHICKENSTRIP 1. Yes. To take 1911 standard grip screws you must swap out the grip bushings, however factory grip screws work with other grips. 2. Mine has been reliable with CCI mini mags, & bulk federal high velocity .22LR ammo. Trick to it is to make sure first round in mag is pointing up for good feeding. Make sure ammo is stacked neatly not just jammed in. 3. yes 4. other 1911 mods can be done. I've installed a flat backstrap, match barrel bushing and new thumb safety so far.

  • Why would you want such a giant and bulky .22? Even for a .45 the 1911 is large gun.

  • @StewartLucrative

    training

    collecting

    re-enacting

    sport shooting

    fun

  • @StewartLucrative you have no idea till you shoot it. fun gun. I would buy another.

  • I bought one. They suck. It repeatedly fails to extract and is ammo picky. Save your money and buy something else like the Kel tec pistol that fires 31 rounds of 22 magnums.

  • @ usframe : I feed mine the bulk pack stuff from Walmart, mostly Federal, and it works fine. I haven't done an extensive test of a lot of ammo types, so I'm not much help there, but it seems to eat the bulk stuff just fine. I clean it after each session.

  • He just say, can be operated as a 45 caliber? Really!!!!

  • @Pivo000

No. I'm not sure why they thought it could be converted but it can't.

  • they take the fireing pins out at shot show and the nra show but yes always treat guns as they are loaded

  • The hammer was down? So what if their finger was on the side of the trigger?

  • On a real subject (instead of all this whining about the trigger). This is a fantastic product from GSG. I own one of these as well as a Chiappa version. The GSG offering is simply better in finish, function, and fit. It is so much like a real 1911 that it makes it very practical for practice. It has the right weight and feel. The price is very reasonable and it is a economic way to put a lot of rounds down range.

  • @wookieWebster does it eat cheap ammo?

  • i know that was the ATI employee but WOW! as a USMC Range Coach i would have punched him faster than you could say abortion

  • get ur hand off the trigga fool!

  • It's a bad habit that I see quite often on YouTube vids. It's shows a lack of training, which you don't actually need to be a gun rep or sales person.

  • What is required to modify this to a .45acp? spring, mag, and barrel? or anything else?

  • take the booger hook off of the bang switch!!!

  • I guess your post name says it all PooPoo2U.

Let's compare computer/web experience; I'm up for it if you are...

Let's compare firearm experience; I'm up for that as well...

If you are so fragile that you can't accept or see advice being given regarding the safe operation of a firearm, perhaps you should do some reflection.

    PooPoo2U2 buddy

  • If you wanted to convert to a 45 than get an inexpensive 45 1911 like a Rock Island Armory and get a 22lr conversion kit. Its like a bizzaro way to want to take a 22lr and convert it to 45 if you ask me.

  • @Nakanokalronin Sig has had great success with their serries of 229/226/220 "classics". They offer a fullsize frame with a 22 slide/barrel and a discount on the centerfire slide/barrel asy.

These guys are copying a proven buisness strat.

  • @Daytonaman675 might add that buying the P220 22lr first and then the 45acp conversion 2nd, is cheaper then buying the P220 45acp and then the 22lr conversion. price difference is almost the cost of the 22lr conversion

  • @45Blackjack Agreed on that sir. If I ever get back to a sig I will go the classic route. I recently sold my 229 in .40 S&w and I almost miss it. I think I will go 9mm on the next one, I enjoy shooting it more in the 229. It just seems like less of a chore, ammo is cheaper, and it still spins the steel on my action targets dueling tree. (By the way that was the best 400 dollars I have ever spent) I will have a review of it up next weekend.

  • Yes it is a big deal actually and if someone in a position like yourself is not aware of that then you should be. It is one of the rules of safe gun handling and should be observed at all times. You have just set a terrible example to less experienced people. Accept that you have done something wrong and correct it in the future. It's simple......

  • @OICURful

    Who are you talking to?

  • @GunWebsites He's talking to whomever is speaking/holding the gun in the video.

  • @OICURful: wow, calm down old man. i know you're excited you finally figured out how to use the "interwebs", but that doesn't mean you have to go youtube policing right off the bat.

  • Comment removed

  • @OICURful

Obviously, the vendor (ATI) was narrating this video. Your comment should be directed at them, not GunWebsites...

  • I contacted American Tactical Imports and the representative said that this particular model in fact does not convert to a actual 45 ..I don't know why in this vid the rep says that you can upgrade to a 45.ACP..I would like to know if you can or cant..

    Thanks

  • are these guns out yet? can't find them anywhere other than the net, i've been looking at this particular one for a while, but now that i've waited this long, i think i might want to go with the colt umarex 1911 .22lr coming out later this year. (november?)

  • Your finger should never be inside the trigger guard until you are ready to discharge the firearm.

    You should know that........

You should set a better example.

  • @OICURful

    who are you talking to?

  • @GunWebsites im pretty shure he is talking to the vendor, aka the person holding the weapon

  • @OICURful your brilliant you know that? it's a show model. 10 bucks it doesnt even have a firing mechanism, and if it did, doubtful its operational other then racking the slide.

  • @OICURful true but if you KNOW that it is empty and did a thorough check (chamber, magazine) and it's on safety it's not that big of a deal.

  • @OICURful are you talking about the person in the video? that wasnt the guy who runs this channel. that was the ATI Rep.

  • @OICURful dumbass thats not him stupid bitch.

  • @OICURful if the weapon is cleared, there really isnt a big deal... its someone at a shot show, so ALL weapons are clear.

  • @xethanxflipsburgers

and this is why accidents happen. A gun is ALWAYS loaded unless YOU cleared it.

christ, no wonder there are so many fatal, accidental shootings in this country.

as for the vid, I handled one today, seems a lot nicer than I had anticipated.

  • @OICURful it wasn't him ding dong... he was at shot show and the guy holding the weapon was an employee of ATI...

  • @OICURful O.K. safety Bob. obviously it isnt loaded or he wouldnt have his finger on it.

  • @OICURful Accept that you have done something wrong and correct it... It's simple.... Not GunWebsites fault!

  • can i change the grip-panels with panels from hogue or colt?

  • good price and able to upgrade to 45 its 2 guns for 370 cant wait for it to cum out

  • Wow, she's working at the fucking SHOT show and she has her finger on the trigger..

And people wonder why Obama wants guns gone...

  • @VMFA115Starloric Obama wants guns gone as a means of control. Not because some lady had her finger on a trigger in this video. Its not about safety, its about control. But agreed, she should have had her finger off the trigger.

  • And you can upgrade it to a .45, eh? awesome.

  • @Pantallicadeth I emailed GSG, it WILL NOT convert to .45acp. This video is wrong on that regard.

  • @Pantallicadeth is that what they meant? i didnt understand that last part, but yea, why would they bother making it in .45 acp? that ship has sailed.

  • Is there a option to just buy the slide.

  • Still a myth,just like the Hipoint 4595 carbine...

  • @MrGT27 not anymore. They came out with these pistols. I badgered my local shop to let me know when she got one in. She let me know she just got one yesterday. There's also one on gunbroker.

  • it is always bad practice to have your finger on the trigger until you are aiming at your target. period

  • a pro would never place the finger on the trigger unless they are ready to fire

  • keeping your finger off the trigger is a fad, looks like a lot of folks are going back to the "it was an accident" grip.

I'd like to see one of these when they come in to retail.

  • I LOVE THAT GUN

  • Please remove bogger hook from bangswitch.

  • take you finger OFF the TRIGGER!!!!!!!!!

btw i rele want one of those......

  • Um, can someone tell the guy about trigger control?

I know no one is perfect, but geez! This guy is the salesman. He's supposed to know what he is doing.

  • i don't think live rounds are allowed to a gun show, so nothing to be worried about.

  • Would you point a lethal weapon at your face even if you 'knew' it was empty?

  • how is it lethal if it's empty? other people may not know that but it can't harm anyone.

  • Because a gun most likely will kill you if you handle it improperly. You can never be too careful when handling a gun.

  • WHY DOES THIS IDIOT HAVE THEIR FINGER ON THE TRIGGER? sorry for the caps.

  • in case the shtf

  • so it has the weight but not the clip size or the caliber but its cheaper and the ammo is cheaper to so wtfffffff

  • He's a salesman, he has his finger on the trigger 2 2 2 much.

  • schweet

  • If you are a registered gun owner like myself. Beware of the UN trying to strip us of our 2nd Amendment rights! Check it out /watch?v=FawmR2ANlEo

  • Nobody is a "registered" gun owner in America. You may have a concealed weapons permit of some sort, but to OWN a firearm and require registration is something I know nobody in America to have ever done (that would start a war).

Also, that video is REALLY old. Like REALLY. I believe it is from 2002 or 2003 if I remember correctly.

  • @ smttysmth02gt

    Thanks

  • @smittysmth02gt: Technically you're right: no one is a registered gun owner. But last time I bought a pistol I had to get it "safety inspected"... Want to know what they did at the county building? They took my drivers liscence, wrote down my ID number. Then took the gun and wrote down the serial number. They put the form in a filing cabinet and gave the gun & ID back... No "inspection" was done, and I & my gun were "registered" at the county... Can you say "loophole"?

  • Wow, you actually handed themyour firearm so they could file your serial #? I didn't that was happening any where?

  • What state?

  • Michigan

  • @ danbowski40

Where are you that you have to register as a gun owner?

Your channel says you are in Texas, I am not aware of gun owner registration in Texas

  • Your right, "Any gun owner" is what I should of said. But the UN is hell bent on stripping us of our gun rights. :(

  • @ danbowski40

Fair enough.. just wanted to call you out in case you some kind of anti-gun type posting spam ..

So why the outdated link in a topic about a .22lr 1911 pistol ?

    Kind of off topic no?

  • No anti-gun socialist here my friend. In fact your reviews is what inspired me to buy my Glock 17 last week. But I ran across that video and just wanted to share it with fellow gun owners. Nice 22lr BTW.

  • @ danbowski40

Right on, thanks for the feedback and the support !!

  • I thought we were supposed to keep our finger OFF the trigger

  • @ aaronerman

I know, it's like nails on a chalk board to watch it IMO
