Its archery, season early, odds better, but we all know the real big boys don't come down till late. A cornfield? I bet when field dressed he was full of corn and this nice spot does not see more than 200 hunters per a season. Just like football, can't compare a college division III championship to a superbowl.

Almost a bigger factor than weapon choice is location and terrain where you hunt. I hunt with both here in southern mo where 100 yds is a long shot. Every deer on my wall except one was within 30 yards. Bowhunting is hard as hell, but rifle hunting is no cake walk in my back yard.

Come to Pennsylvania or even New Jersey and try you spot and stalk. You'll get about 200 yards and have to stop "true hunting" due to a thing called property lines.

southern iowa. i live in town, have to drive about 40 min to get to the areas i hunt in. let me just say i mean you no disrespect or animosity, and as a fellow hunter, really we should be on the same side. i'm just saying, in my given situation, bow hunting with traditional or even modern equipment proves to be a challenge, especially because we shoot only 4 year old or older, and at least 140 inch deer. excluding the many does we smoke every year lol. big deer die hard here, bottom line.

i think im the only one to notice that your arrow was off of your trophy taker rest which means that you either shot a little high or you were going to shoot low but the nock kept the arrow up and saved you! 7:35-7:37

Very rare is there large enough land in the United States anymore to "spot and stalk" across thousands of acres of land to hunt like you say. Your retarded brain cant grasp the fact that California is completely different from the rest of the United States except maybe Alaska. And most of the thousand + acre properties are privately owned ranches which you also deride????

@martinez418 If you watched the shows on the outdoor channel or opened a book in your life you'd realize that 95%+ of hunters don't own ranches thousands of acres big to spot and stalk. Vast majority of deer hunters are tree stand or ground blind hunters. And to proclaim this "elitism" of California stalking is just laughable. Come to Pennsylvania or even New Jersey and try you spot and stalk. You'll get about 200 yards and have to stop "true hunting" due to a thing called property lines.
