I am a martial artist. W e train with rubber knives, too. A few years ago we were doing a demonstration and one our people got cut badly during the demo. The training is to learn the motions so you are better prepared in case of an actual need to defend yourself. The fact that a "real" knife is not being used only bothers those that don't have a clue.

He is talking about safety when you train so no accidents happen! Some stupid people go so far that they train with real knifes, and Whops one student didnt make his defence and know he is dead! See my point? Keep it realistic but at the same time safe!

The other thing is that he really doesn't clearly explain the law as far as approp. level of force works. Since he's in the US; in most states u r going to b in less trouble if u shoot an assailant in self-def. w/a registr. handgun that u r liscenced 2 carry than if u stick them w/an illegally concealed knife. St. laws in the US get really screwy & local cops tend to get nervous when knives enter the picture.

i'm genually puzzled at the lack of point in this video. If anyone needs to be told that blunt weapons and knives are more dangerous than fists, this person shoudln't be allowed to work with those weapons. The other points are just broad concepts that would be thaught at any self defense class, so if you are interested in the subject you already know it. If you don't train self defense then nothing told here is of any help.

It's more of a disclaimer for them.  They tell you how to practice to avoid certain deaths. If you're practicing them and you accidentally shoot the other guy and kill him... you're screwed and they could be held liable. But since this video is out here, they aren't liable, because they told you to use rubber knives + plastic bb guns.
