my two year old son knows that you are a full of trash!
my baby boy knows why his papa is unemployed.
after the white house kicks obama out and ALL of the americans scream with joy. i think that obama should take his campaign "yes we can" to the swamp. IF he's lucky, the wild pigs will appreciate his appearance.
This is a bunch of BS--things may be going good for you Obama, but I have a feeling the winds of change are coming! I can't wait to 'help' vote you out of office! Yay!!
If one understands that socialism is not a share -the wealth program, but is in reality a method of consolidate and control the wealth, then the seeming paradox of super-rich men promoting socialism becomes no paradox at all. Instead, it becomes logical, even the perfect tool of power-seeking megalomaniacs.
Communism, or more accurately socialism, is not a movement of the down trodden masses, but of the economic elite.
The economy may be showing signs of recovery. If we see unemployment continue to go down, should we give back the 600+ billion dollars of stimulus we haven't spent yet?
It hasn't even been 6 months, and you're saying I'm incorrect when I say most of the projects haven't even begun? So you're saying the government already spent most of the $787 billion?
Yes, but a large portion of stimulus has nothing to do with infrastructure. People still debate whether the New Deal worked. It wasn't until WW2 that America really got out of the depression. Things like Social Security were instituted which are good in theory, but in the hands of the government, it became out of control. Pay as you go wasn't the idea.
You can't debate whether jobs were created, but government jobs don't create economic growth the way private enterprise does. Government jobs rarely produce like the private industry does. That's very important to an economy. I think many people believe it was WW2 and the US producing supplies for England prior to WW2 that boosted our economy. Not to mention the millions of job openings that occured when our troops went overseas.
You mean the people who steal from the government or collect 2 pensions and benefits and all sorts of other goodies. Yea, that's worked out great. Maybe the government should employ more people like that. How about the post office, or social security, they're doing great. I'm sure the government will be just as responsible with the stimulus money. The government has forced more debt on me than I've ever accumulated in my entire life, and I'm supposed to be happy they spent 787 billion?

if the unemployment percent had gone up so much as 0.1% the GOP would be:
"See? SEE?? his programs are terrible and hurting America!!"
but, since the percentage is actually down a bit and numbers improving, the GOP response is:
"Yawn...what? Oh, that....it's just random. The market is organically healing itself. Oh, and uh Obama's programs are hurting America!"
I wish Obama would speak more forcefully about the army of idiots he is up against in trying to get important work done.

obama is doing his best, but he really hired the worst people for his economic team
and im still predicting a complete, full out depression come next june...when most of the programs created by the stimulus are phased out
brabon1 2 years ago
Most of the projects planned with stimulus money haven't even begun and are planned all the way up to 2019.

not correct
many of the plans are being phased out at the end of 2010

the wpa just didnt go far enough
but the only people who debate if the wpa worked are revisionist freaks

no, i mean people who own old age homes and private hospitals...who make all their money off of medicare
and then scream about socialism
those people
brabon1 2 years ago
Hmm, this recession was made by a bunch of people... irresponsible people, not the government.
So it isn't really the people's place right now to tell the government to stay off and let them try again.
Point is that while the country belongs to the people, the government is responsible for governing. Let Caesar do what is for Caesar.
