Well, I know that in the "Tarja era," as it's come to be called, they made extensive use of backing tracks while onstage (they probably still do, but I haven't seen them live since then, so I'm not going to assume). They used these for anything they couldn't do live... like the complex harmonies and symphonic stuff that Tuomas couldn't cover just on his keyboards... However... that's an odd place for her to choose not to sing... Meh. She's not even in Nightwish anymore, so who cares?

Why you ppl fight so much about who is better Tarja or Anette? Tarja has trained voice ,so I always thought the answer was obvious...you should better argue about who fits NIGHTWISH more...

My opinion is that Tarja is NIGHTWISH or was at least no metter how she acted with the band members.Anette is maybe better person and she's trying hard to be a good change, which is hard job, but she is simply not NIGHTWISH!!
