  • There is so much emotion in this piece, it brings tears to my eyes. :')

  • This orchestral version is great. But I have just uploaded the vocal version of ILLUSION. Maybe you would like to listen to it?

  • This so beautiful thank you Leo.

  • Hi There, you have missed Ilse Werner's girl friend Miss Elfriede Datzig!

    Fine Music Thanks for posting!

    Aloha From Hawaii!

  • Just by accident I arrived here ... and this is a marvellous video. I've never heard of the composer (Verzeihung !) but together with the photos this is pure nostalgy, sadness and joy together. I live in Antwerp (Flanders) the city where Johannes Heesters was a great star in the 20's ; his first wife was an Antwerp local musicalstar (Wiske or Louisa Gheys) I'll downoadad your video to my blog and show it tomorrow to my readers. Many, many thanks. Vielen Dank !

  • Dank u wel voor de commentaar!

  • Wunderbar!

  • Franz Grothe (* 17. September 1908 in Berlin; † 12.

  • I fall in love with this valse, it makes me feel sadness and happiness

  • Beautiful. Thanks for posting!

  • Could we possibly be treated to the 78 version as well? Such a beautiful melody...

  • Where did you get the music for this??? It's fascinating and I can't find this version anywhere!

  • I'm particularly taken with the women at 0.57 and 1.39. Can you tell me who they are, please?

  • The lady at 0.57 (colour picture)is singer/actress Marta Eggerth (°1912, living in New York). She was a world famous singer of opera and operetta, married to Polish tenor Jan Kiepura, they emigrated to the US in 1938.

The other lady (with the coat over her shoulder) is Lotte Koch (Brussels, °1913) a popular actress in the late thirties and early forties.

  • Merci de nous faire écouter, cette longue mais sublime chanson.

  • Full version - appreciated; until "The End".

  • It`s wonderful to hear this from Grothe. And the pics in this Clip are great! Thank you.
