the difference between your 15 buck card and my 100 buck card is that you are limited to a SHIT resolution, where me and my 100 buck card get HDTV (1080p) connected to the computer, and looks MUCH cleaner... :)
Dude, how did you managed to connect the Wii to the TV card? I am trying to make it, but my TV card only have a coaxial and s-video connectors. Call me dumb but I don't know how to make it to connect Wii's composite video cable to one of these. Any hint?
I don't know if you're still around to respond, but have you tested this with other systems? I'm hoping if I got it it'd have 0 lag with any consoles. Going by a previous response of yours there is no lag present, but I just wanna make sure that's still the case :P
nice one dude, but is there any differences on quality of playing wii when using different TV tuner? and what about the maximum resolution? please let me know! thanks dude
I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600, but I cannot get it to set up to my Wii. I even have VGA cords and it doesn't work. Does your TV tuner have to display a window when it recognizes wii or did it just hook up?
did you install the cd for the wintv hvr ...loook in yout start menu and u will see hauppauge click on it and u will find the program k if you got any more probs message me
The delay depends on the software you use, WinDVR which is the video uploader's using does not have any delay. I use it myself, but right now I'm searching for another software that has better picture quality without changing my tv tuner.
looks good what software did you use? WinTV? I have the beyond tv bundle that came with wintv trying to see if I can get my old consoles like the dreamcast to work on it.
you press the record button on the software you watch for tv on your pc
e.g im using wintv hvr 900h and i record tv shows on my pc just set up your ps3 or xbox using the red white and yellow wires and press the record button
I definatly need some question's answered about these i just bought one on the internet and it'll be here in a week so what are your computer specs and stuff
hey man can u plz help me. i just got a gamebridge for my wii and i dont know where to plug it into. i know you plug one end into the usb slot on computer but where does the other end go into? does it go into the tv or somewhere in the wii?
2 questions: 1. Does the tuner convert to a 480p resolution or standard interlaced lines? 2. Will there be any issues with using a 16:10 monitor for a 16:9 setting? (example being stretching)
no se the dazzl is really consfusing but with this just install it in comp. by professinals at circut city or best buyand they can inout the sound options
to get sound from you TV tunner to record you have to check where is the sound coming from to record it, my TV tunner card sound is in "line in" there is also "wave", check you recording options or device options, see if there options to choose, form choosing "line in" or "wav" ext. ,if this wont work try lookin at your tv tunner card see if the audio port is connected to your main motherboard audio.
so does mine i just think you need splitters my girlfriend might know a few things i JUST got my tuner and i need to wait till she gets home to ask her
Hi there, first thanks for posting. I just wanted to ask if there are any lags when you play the wii on your monitor using th tv tuner card? I've read horror stories online of people experiencing 1 second delays etc... Thanks!
if you set it up with a vcr, it should be somewhat easy. The audio cable you bought, goes to the OUT port on the back of the vcr, and the other end goes into Line In on your computer. then you will need to plug the yellow cable into VIDEO Out on the vcr, and then the other end into tv tuner. then plug game system into VIDEO/AUDIO IN on vcr.
i have a capture device called the dvdxpressDX2 is there a application i can use to display myvideo in full res like that can i ask what software you use with you cap device? thanks gr8 video BTW check mine out i put a wii in my PC like a DRIVE ;)with the intent of displaying onto my MONITOR instead of my TV thanks :)
Just curious. I am purchasing the same card that you have. How is the video quality on your monitor? Is it good, ok, etc? I couldnt find the model number/name of the card so that I could read a review. Would you be able to assist me with that? thanks.
Thanks for the reply. Just one last question. Is there any input lag from the moment you press a button on your controller to the moment it shows up on your tv?
I went ahead and bought one anyways. cant beat 15 bucks.
you also have to consider the video card they are using when it comes to lag. You could use a high end vid card and a cheap tv tuner and still have good quality
since i don't have that card, i am probably of no help to you because I wouldn't be able to test it out. Maybe your computer specs dont meet the requirements of the card?
mine worked right after i installed the drivers. I have had no problems with it. The only thing i changed in WinDVR is the aspect ratio, so that it would fit my screen.
Here is something i found on the ATI site. It seems as if you are doing nothing wrong, its the card's fault.
"When you input audio and video into the ATI series of cards, the independant audio and video streams are combined into one single Audio-Video(AV) stream.
This AV stream is then split and decoder independantly through their respective audio and video codecs.
This process on average in our testing causes a delay of up to 3 seconds."
yes, this isn't just for wii. Sorry if i may have worded the title like that. The tv tuner has composite and s-video inputs. I have a vcr hooked up to it, so that i can have more than one system hooked up at once. Anything with composite or s-video cables will work ^_^
thanx so much manquail. you just saved me alot of money. I was considering a special digital box for the xbox 360 if the tuner card is out of the question. it averages about $80 but my technical mind told me there is another way and you verified it. you are the man.
as far as installing it goes, it was a little difficult. You have to install it manually and dont let the software that comes with it do it for you. But other than that I haven't had any problems. I also just got it working in vista :D
my system is vista and i have tv tuner that is also cheaper it's sabrent usb tv tuner, and little scared to install if that tv tuner gonna ruin my pc as it did before.
i have a tv tuner card too but when i use it with my wii the quality looks blurred and unsharpened. my monitor is 1080p so i thought that was why. Would you say the quality on yours is as good as your tv?
well, the reason i prefer to use my tv tuner instead of my tv is because the tv i have is like 25 years old. It is a little blurred now that you mention it, but nothing too major, i mean it still looks pretty good.
well, the great thing about this is that you dont need a super powerful computer to use one of these. just as long as you have these minimum requirements.
Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP.
366MHz CPU or higher.
32MB RAM or above.
VGA Card with at least 8MB memory.
Available PCI slot.
there is a link in the video description if you want to buy one. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask :D
How did you hook it up? Did you need to hook it up a certain way?

HansonGreenwelll 3 years ago
pretty much. A TV Tuner Card goes inside your computer and connects to the motherboard. A dazzle will plug into a USB Port, which is much simpler.
manquail009 3 years ago
Although I wouldn't reccommend dazzle. I lags like hell, plus the sound screws up unless you have a bloody good computer!

I had the same problem, just play with those settings it should work eventually.
