  • AMAZING I NEVER THOUGHT THAT HOW DID U DO THAT

  • Hillarious =D

  • well done!

  • This was really funny! I was expecting the loading error! LOL!

  • I mean, I kinda expected the blue background at the end, but the error message.. xD priceless

  • Brilliant!

  • "loading error" man... that sucked so much! ;)

  • Man, i want a spectrum soooo much xD

  • I lolled hard when the tape load error came on

  • Это классика! :)

  • awesome user name =P

  • Awesome! Im 31, i want to cry!

  • I'm 17 and I get this lol why? I watch Ashens.. That's why

  • Do not watch this with 2x speed!

  • Just went to look at nadinka007's chanel. Laugh!!! Explains a lot. Would have thought that age 31was old enough to be a grow up but apparently not. Nvm. I thought you vid was funny, even though I never owned a Spectrum, but I remember them, and that noise!

  • LOL LOL thats f king hilarious

  • this is awesome, nice work haha

  • happy days!!

  • The only flaw I can see is the placement of R: tape loading error. It should be in the border, not the paper.

Nice idea though, brings back memories and made me laugh.

    Cheers!

  • @solcuerda Shouldn't it also be R :Tape loading error 0:1?

  • @Deepsmeg Perhaps you're right. I don't have the original hardware any more to test it, and emulators aren't so easy to try it with (they load games instantly and can't really be disturbed with external noise or altering the loading device's volume/speed in the same way :)

  • @solcuerda Get Eighty One, it's the most accurate I've found (You can do ghosted TV image stuff and it will even emulate random rampack wobble on the zx81!) As for getting it to throw the error, you should be able to stop the tape (assuming you've turned off flash loading)

  • ROFLOL!

  • hahah awesome. should have shown the black reset screen of death at the end though !!! :D

  • Love it !!!!

The 'Load' error was the icing on the cake for me!

When i think of the number of people who pushed the ZX Spectrum to edge of its capabilities and then created software to push it further to do what SInclair never thought possible - What a generation ! I'm pretty sure i learnt all my patience from typing in pages and pages (and pages) of code only to find there was a typo and it didn't work. lol

  • That's it?

  • Ha ha ha ha LOLs

  • Who would have thought that noise would make a comeback under the name 'Dubstep'.

  • Tape loading error. xD

  • Epic!

  • thats funny, i installed the zx spectrum firmware on my old windows xp machine as a primary operating system

  • Awesome!

  • Stupid Microsoft software ;-P

  • good old spectrum sounds

  • I like this, it made me smile. I feel compelled to point out one little thing: the Spectrum, when loading a screen image, loaded the pixel state first (on or off), followed by the attributes (colour etc). The way you have the colours appearing last is correct, but unfortunately the 4 panes of the Windows logo before the colours are applied are shades of grey - this would not have been possible with the Spectrum. It would only have been black/white until the colours are loaded at the end.

  • Holly crap windows never worked so good

  • I've been watching these vids all night having a blast!

  • Funny!

  • It's such a shame the young generation are missing out on such a great piece of history. I am 18 yrs and no one I know of the same age seems to have even heard of anything older than a Game Boy :(

  • Load "" ftw. i hope the spectrum never dies. Long live Manic Miner :)

  • @TheStubdep Yes. Many. :)

  • @TheStubdep Don't mention it :) Go to a site called World of Spectrum - they've got billions of games/software there. Download the titles you want, convert them to MP3/Wav, burn to CD and copy to tape :)

  • @SPeacock thats freaking awesome!

  • @MPSecare Indeed :)

  • @TheStubdep If the 128K games are 48K-compatible, then yes. Some games are 128K-only, which require a 128K Spectrum.

  • 0:44 tape loading error

  • is this real?

  • ...It makes sense to me. Probably because I do research.

  • Hahahaha... Great! :)

  • I just want to point out that this was a joke, and your response to it was immature, illogical, and completely uncalled for. If you haven't a sense of humor enough to have realized that, than why did you bother to click the link?

Trolling someone's page or video just to be a moron seems a little bit like *you* have the brain damage.

  • @TheRiceballalien Aw, thanks Cyd.

  • What a scintillating insight into my personal psychological disorders. God, you've really nailed my entire reason for posting this video - it's so clear to me now. You know I was so naïve that I thought that this was a brief, amusing diversion for fellow fans of 80's computing. But thanks to your scarcely-legible comment I realise that I can only have posted it due to reasons of repressed childhood abuse. Perhaps I can consult you for counselling? Please message me back if so.

  • @EvilWizardZaks That's the wittiest comment I have ever read. XD

  • @EvilWizardZaks

He's just a scumbag troll. YouTube is full of them, one wonders where he gets the idea of child abuse from in the first place, maybe from inflicting or receiving it himself probably.

  • @EvilWizardZaks Dude, F&@% him! He can suck farts, straight out of my butt-hole (& like it!). Some people just have a genetic predisposition towards A-Hole'ish'ness. Don't let it bother you. Personally I love 80's computer, tech & especially video games. I like your video post. Thx for the upload. BTW, did/do you have a Speccy & or an emulator for 1? (I have Spectaculator v7.5 emulator)

PS: Just ban/block the twit form this post. (if you haven't already?)

  • @nadinka007 Oh dear.

  • @nadinka007 its just a joke man, why a comment like that?

  • @escus4

Because he's an aggressive obsessional fucktard. Either that, or he was genuinely looking for proof that Windows XP can run on a machine with no hard disk and 48K RAM, in which case he's a disappointed obsessional fucktard.

  • Oh my god. I found this funn. I'm 15. What have I done with my life...?

  • This is funny as hell

  • The picture makes sounds?? o.O

  • @SouthwesternEagle The Spectrum used to have programs on a cassette tape, you had to play the tape and wait for it to load (sometimes took ages! and some even had games you could play while you wait!) the colours and noises are as it was

  • If only it were possible to really have Windows XP running on a ZX, then I'd ditch my noisy power-guzzling PC. If I ever find myself another ZX I'm going to load the sound from this video into it just to see what comes up.

  • :)))))

  • wow , machine code as well! with a crash at the end...sweeet

  • that take me back to the days when my clothes where loose and the girls where tight..........love it !!!

  • Tape loading Error :))))

  • hahahah :D PERFECT !!

  • Sweeeet :-D nice one! --- Tape loading Error... LOL !!!

  • I think I just had a seizure.

  • I should boot up my Z88 Cambridge and upload a vid of it. Heh... My last entry in it was from 1989 I think.

  • hehehe...too funny!

  • hehehe...too funny! It

  • Speccy 4 Ever - I still have a working clone

  • FAIL

  • ROFL!

  • ive got this program, i put a picture of absol on my speccy

  • Is there some kind of program or emulator that does this for PC with an image of your choice?

  • ownd

  • Lol, it can't even load Windows. -_-

  • You gotta love those tape loading sounds.

  • I learned to program on that marvelous piece of hardware. I still have one but no tape recorder alas.

  • Try SymbOS instead...

    ;-)

  • I don't think your PC is supposed to scream at you.

  • @BenTheEpic But ZX Spectrums are.

  • Yup... That's how my office workstation boots up, only slower and slightly less colourful. :) Eh, I guess that's what you get when the company decides to go with the cheapest computers on the market, and also fire most of the IT personnel. Good executive decision! You all management lot do deserve your large payrolls, for coming with such a brilliant idea on your own!!

  • how i hate TAPE LOADING ERROR

  • Sorry for my stupidity. I'm only 11 years old. Could someone please explain the sounds to me?

  • @gavenusman The ZX Spectrum loaded games from a cassette tape (ask your parents if you don't know what that is). Basically that noise you hear is the program code being played to the Spectrum. It was incredibly slow compared to modern standards, taking several minutes to load up to 48KB worth of data!

  • @tomscholes thats really cool. I wonder why it plays it back though? Anyway, yeah i know what a cassette tape is i use one a lot because I don't like digital recorders (their quality is not good)

  • @gavenusman And now you know why my generation listens to chip tunes - they bring back fond memories.

  • @superscatboy Even his generation listens to chiptune - I'm 13 and I make them(kinda)!

  • @WhoWatchesVideos yep. On an off topic note: I really like to program in BASIC. I tried this and i can't figure it out. I know the one-key press thing is supposed to make it faster, but i really just prefer 10 print "booblah" 20 input a 30 if a = 1 then goto 40 else goto 1000 etc

  • @gavenusman I know i'm replying to my own post and i rudely commented at someone else for doing just that (but it was like a fight with themself) I also would ike to know about the flashing border? Is that related to the sound?

  • Pretty cool!

  • 48k spectrum could display this graphic providing the designer was carefull enough not to include more than 2 colors (foreground and background) in each 8bit x 8bit pixel character grid on screen. In this case that could be done by carefully choosing the center of the Microsoft logo on the screen matrix.

Very funny. I'm glad there's still people alive who remembers how to switch on a Spectrum, use a spectrum drawing tool and an old tape recorder. Makes me feel not that old, after all :-D

  • Yey, 30 secs to load a few Bytes, where's the blue screen?

  • im not what i find more amuseing. the actual clip which if i do say so myself is very clever and very funny. i loled alot and even psoted it to my fb page.

    or

the idiots on here who dont get the joke and calling it fake lol infact i loled at all the comments too.

this was a clip posted to bring back memmories of what once used to be top of the range computer hardware.

but they used it as a way to joke more about windows at the same time.

    spectrum = ultimate stability

  • this is absolutely hilarious!!! madem my day well done and thank you hahaha brilliant

  • this is absolutely hilarious!!! madem my day well done and thank you hahaha

  • That looks plausible. I can still remember when Bill Gates said "Nobody wouldn't ever need more than 42-44 Kb".

  • @tequillerboy Actually I think it was something along the lines of "... 640k ought to be enough for everybody..." but yes, that was the spirit :).

  • rofl!

  • That was freakin awesome. The little fanfare of code as the colour goes in, and then the message of death... :D

  • I enjoyed :)

  • I laughed out loud when it "R: Tape loading error." popped up.

  • like it how people say fake fake - OF COURSE IT IS! DER! If Microsoft could actually get XP into 48K or even 128K, it would be a sheer miracle of the lord.

  • Funny.

  • Yup - total lolz. I like it! XD

  • CAnt hold...BOOM.

  • LMAO too funny, lol I had a Vic 20, back the day. This just brought back memories of it lol.. Nice

  • Nice joke :)

    Speccy...

I still keep my old ZX (USSR copy of ZX). And it still works !

  • Lol, even now I have almost jumped off my chair at the R: Tape loading error. I used to get postal back in those days.

  • Ha ha ha sweet video, lol

  • HA HA ...kreténi

  • Hey, at least it runs better then Windows ME.

  • i think the colors gave me a siezure... idehbfilwbrfviahjberifvshdgfbjdfbg luidhbgkuiba!!!!

  • Cool. I have an iMac emulator for my Nintendo Game & Watch. Works really well!

  • бу га га га

  • ;-) LOL ... I like it ...

  • This is fake. The spectrum doesn't have all those shades of gray.

  • still boots quicker than XP on a PC.

  • Tape Loading Error....

    I'm a PC!!!

  • @faultelectronica im a pc to but i charge hipsters more ..and call my self a mac

  • @5british5

.... that last longer and run better for all purposes.

  • @faultelectronica any thing a mac can do a pc can do better

  • -_- i has professional.you cant load WinXP on ZX Spectrum as it wasnt on this time. -_- is it a PARODY of winXP?i dont really know what but this is not a winXP but an OLD OLD TRASH OF DINOS TIME!

  • @NFMandNFSfan you are trash, go suck dinosaur's dick, respect ZX Spectrum, scum!!!

  • @NFMandNFSfan why are people so lacking in sence of humour.. this is a joke plain and simple its joke by older people for older people who know what zx spectrums are.

you my freind clearly are not as professional as you think you are lol.

  • -_- i has professional.you cant load WinXP on ZX Spectrum as it wasnt on this time. -_- is it a PARODY of winXP?

  • i laughed a bit

  • LOL)))

  • Priceless

  • Oh, I get it, you're trying to make a joke about how XP takes hours to load but it really loads in under a minute and you're just an impatient twat. Ha, ha.

  • FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE

the graphic displayed is not possible on zx specrum

  • @z404

No shit Sherlock, of course you can't have more than 2 colours in any byte block on a spectrum, which makes the XP logo impossible, but credit where it;s due, THIS IS PRETTY COOL !!!

I guess you had to be there on Xmas day when you slid the box out off the cardboard, lifted off the lid, and gasped as the Spectrum squeaked it's way out it's box.

( then spent all day wondering why 'Horace goes Skiing' woulldn;t load (and the disappointment when IT DID!)

    .it's and old person thing

  • @z404 read the discretion.

  • @z404 read the description you f**king idiot

  • @orchy86 At least he gets a lot of thumbs up for not reading the description which bears the question: Who is more idiotic - the idiot or the bunch of idiots who follow him?

It's true what an intelligent man once sang: This is an idiot's world, this is an idiot's world. But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without the web and youtube!

  • @z404 Entirely correct, except that the graphic displayed is possible on the ZX Spectrum. Aside from that, you're correct.

  • Comment removed

  • @z404 DURRR HURRRR... I CAN STATE THE OBVIOUS HURR DURR.

  • @z404 yes it is possible. very possible. I saw sharper loading screens during the latter part of the Speccy's life. Developers found all sorts of ways around the limited graphics.

This is still cool, clever concept.

"R: Tape loading error." was a nice touch.

  • @z404 It is possible. The ZX Spectrum can do 10 colours on the screen at a time.

  • @lister101 8 colours and 2 brightness levels so 16 colours

  • @jango1968 Oh. Which makes z404 even more incorrect.

  • @z404 Possible, dude! You are know nothing about ZX Spectrum graphic.

  • @z404 i think you'll find that the old speccy was capable of displaying that pic

  • @z404 of course it was, this looks like the 128k zx, more than capable of displaying that graphic

  • HAHA

  • i used to hate that when you load a game and just at the end it would crash or when you have to turn the tape over and it wouldnt load as you have just been half way through the game . but my fav computer at the time was the cpc 464 or tatung einstein

  • MY EARS!

  • @pingy86119pivoter

Heh, this one has turbo loader :-)))))

  • This is real windows always crashing :P.

  • Anyone interested in real tape recording file with this screen?

  • Just to hear how it loads makes me feel like a kid again.

  • hhhhhhhhhhh

  • winshit on Spectrum? That's blasphemy! Spectrum rulez, winshit suxx!

  • Very cool. Good job. I miss my old Spectrum!

  • tape loading error FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU LOL :)

  • well, works better than vista

  • this makes me want to dig out my spectrum...

  • OOOUUUHHHHH YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!

  • The infamous 'R; Tape Loading error'.

Mabye you should turn the tone up on your tape recorder? Used to work for me;)

  • would be funny as an xp loading screen...lol

  • Oh how I've missed the screeches of my Specrtum +2

  • Nice job. I love these fake (or real) demos of new software running on old systems.

  • Arrgghh, the dreaded R tape loading error!

  • Blue border of death! R: TAPE LOADING ERROR :)

  • Niiiice

  • Should probably warn people to turn their volume down a bit.

  • This is blasphemy, this is madness!

  • @PartyBoyz83100 THIS IS SPARTA!

  • I enjoyed the classic "R-tape loading error" message. Such times... :)

  • Thats actually pretty funny

  • Tape Loading Error > it suits to Windows :D
