@ncashton1 Hi, this follows Monarch Airlines’ strategic decision, announced in June 2011, to focus as a schedule airline on strengthening and developing its shorthaul network, and the delay to the delivery of the Boeing 787 from 2010. However, the decision does not affect Monarch Aircraft Engineering Ltd’s strategy to support the Dreamliner. Hope this helps.
@1995a1995z A "C Check" is typically performed either every 12 months or after a specific amount of flying hours defined by the aircraft’s manufacturer.
The work is extensive and the aircraft will be fully inspected. It would usually be positioned in a maintenance hangar for the duration of the check.
The checks can last between 7 days and a few months depending on the type of aircraft and any additional modifications that need to be performed.
@minikin2020 Thanks again for your comment. We are currently investigating a number of IFE solutions for the Monarch fleet which will be introduced over the coming year.

@jackd166 Thanks for your question. Yes, we do operate A300s on this route as well as other types. To ensure we maximise efficiencies in our operations, it is important that we operate a range of aircraft within the fleet allowing us to match the aircraft to the route requirement.
Hi Monarch engineering, you uploaded an exellent video here!!! I just have a question . You did a great job with this aircraft The A 300 was and still is an important machine for the sky but the check you have done at the hangar I think it has a considerable cost for the airline. Why Monarch still uses an Airbus A300 ( a bit old but well mainteined) instead of buying a A 330 already in fleet ? thank you I subcribed !
As an airline, we operate across a range of short, mid and longhaul destinations worldwide. To ensure we maximise efficiencies in our operations, it is important that we operate a range of aircraft within the fleet allowing us to match the aircraft to the route requirement.
Hi Sony1995forever, thanks for your comment! We open the panels along the vertical stabiliser and rudder to allow the inspection of numerous components, for example the attachment hinges of the rudder, the servos and actuators that move the rudder during flight and on ground tests. We also inspect all of the structure to ensure that no defects are present. Hope this helps!
Hello md80x15, the aircraft was in our hangar for 74 days and was ready early! It arrived on 25/01/10 at 22:55GMT and flew out of Luton at 0400GMT 09/04/10, thanks for looking!
Hello Keith, thanks for your comment. It was a 20 year check incorporating everything up to an 8C check. There were 2750 tasks carried out with 37,700 manhours, hope this helps

Nice to see these older aircraft are well maintained, I flew on a Monarch A300 a few years back. Very nice flight indeed.
