I think the shape of your muscles all depend on your genetics. You can still train them and put a little bit of mass on, but they might not have the shape and size you're looking for.

I stand on a two foot Wood box, focusing on the larger muscles in the Calves; keep your knees straight for this one. For the Lower part; bend your knees slightly.
Trick for mass guy's, is to do it SLOWLY and 'Imagine' you have a considerably weight on your shoulder if you haven't actually got any weights; Fill up a rucksack and strap it on!
Work your Calves and not your Cardio. Last thing you want is is a damaging Catabolic state like i used too get......
