@tacticaldeathstrike It is oil. Iraq was due to oil. Albeit not to gain it, but to keep it cheap. And look at zimbabwe, Mugabe is a lot worse and has been for a considerable amount of time. But he doesnt have oil. So he is safe. The recent discovery of a lot of oil must have had something to do with it. Might not be a main reason, but i believe it is.

The rebels shot down there own fighter jet and the US and the West used that as a reason to attack Libya?! A friend of mine was in Bengazhi and he heard no artilery or no strikes by the Gaddafi forces on Bengazhi, he said it was a peacefuld ay until the US came in and ebgan there assault to destroy another Muslim country!

Wtf? They are not even in Libya. They are just shooting some loyalists from the sea and air. They came because of the 10,000 casualties from only 1 month of fighting, mostly civilians. I don't like America or the West either, but you are just overreacting.

@lSaif Get your facts straight. The Rebels shot down a military aircraft under Gaddaffi. This was not the reason the West attacked Libya. The reason the no fly zone was established was because aircraft can bomb places and kill enmasse. The UN resolution goes also beyond a no fly zone. It means NONE of Gaddafi's forces can cause harm to the civilian population. Which means that if Ghaddifi's forces attack Benghazi or any other place, they can be destroyed under the UN resolution.

@lSaif Whatever, but that was NOT the reason the UN mandate went forward. The UN resolution was under consultation before that aircraft was shot down and was finally bolstered by the fact that Ghadafi was sending in military forces to attack that city.

@tacticaldeathstrike Try going to Libya before judging Gadaffi yourself from thousands of miles away, it isnt Gadaffi who did the massacres it was the rebels who throw random mortars into cities killing civilians, they dont even know how to fight properly now it is the US commiting a massacre.
