To capture one of those silent, inappropriate moments two people share that they're not supposed to in certain company is brilliant. And hot. I can't say I enjoyed every aspect of this occasionally incoherent movie, but that scene is one in a million. Balthazar's blue collar, over-obvious, longing, and Patricia's reciprocation to a much lesser degree. You can see it never moves beyond lust for her, and she can squash him at any given moment. She knows this before they've even spoken once.
@SecretAdept Instead of blablaing try reading first . I'm not writing about the movie (which is good by the way but not perfct imo...oh, is it for you , seemingly?) but about The Scene - this video, if u rather (which is near perfection imo, besides this goddam statutic useless face). Understood ?
hey yo thats complete carzay xxxx ) This guy balthazar Getty when I llok at him here he just appears like m*o*t*h*e*f*k*i*n ridiculous and outrageous comparing to the rest o f the scene ! Oh for god sake ! How can this piece of unexpresseive garbage spoil thie absolute greatness of Arquette now ! Its like, when Arquette is on the screen its a Lynch Masterpiece, when its getty, its you humble folks doing a holiday camping video
@vitalico0ocam Instead of hating it try thinking... 'Wait, maybe, because Lynch is the director and everything you see on the screen is exactly what he wanted, the particular expressions and shots of Getty were intended.' You might get further in to interpreting the film and understanding the feelings it provokes from you then. (:
@isobel1982 I agree Isobel ! And I m happy to see we think the same, actually. His face, it is so....normal. In french we say "banal" which is like he hasnt got anything else as any other folk around. And he has no sensation on his face. I know Bill Pullman also does not show off too many, and Pete is supposed to be be him...but Bill has far more expression. This guy baltie, he is just like a dead statue without any use at all ! Pathetic no look on his face, staring and serving at nothing imo
David Lynch's film 'Lost Higway' is simply amazing. In my opinion this is one of the greatest scenes in the history of cinema. Words cannot describe how truly beautiful this is!
tremenda escena que se complementa con imagenes imprescindibles y musica preciosa, Lynch y Reed ,ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........
I can't put my finger on exactly what it is about Patricia Arquette in this movie. I don't think she's incredibly beautiful...but at the same time I do! It's weird
yep me too. My mouth fell open too, my tongue rolled on the floor and my eyes popped out. It works every time. I've watched Lost Highway like a million times and it's still as fresh every time. Favourite film.
One of my favorite video clips of all time. I love the film and am a big fan of David Lynch's work.
He couldn't have a better actress to play this role. Patricia is not only stunning, but you can really feel her character. The hints of innocence belie her manipulative ways.
Patricia Arquette is brilliant in LH, feminine, sexy and cool. In particular the detached inflection in her voice when she's a brunette, always gives me goose bumps. Certainly one of the great Lynch characters...bueno!!?
Well you are easy prey for the black widows out there, Swyke. In this film Arquette is a demon possesed snuff film actress in one part. And a woman who convinces a guy to commit murder for her in part two. That aint sexy, thats scary.
Patricia Arquette is absolutely stunning in this, and I love that because she doesn't normally play vamp-type characters. I'm a big fan of hers, and think she's quite under-rated.
this is such a great moment. the lou reed cover is perfect, the guitar is so beautiful. david lynch nailed it with this scene. it's so hot, you can totally feel the attraction between them. don't you love those Magic Moments?
Do you have this on DVD? It looks like it is in anamorphic widescreen and I did not realize that there was an anamorphic, much less a widescreen version outside of laserdisc at least for NTSC.
I bought the 2 disc Special Edition of Lost Highway from Amazon UK. Its anamorphic, 16X9 ratio. I heard a new American Lost Highway DVD release may be coming out next summer.
In 1932,a little girl named Suzie was walking down the hall of an old hotel.A crazy man killed her by stabbing her in the back of the head and throwing her body in an elevator. While he closed the elevator doors he said "BAKUDA BAKUDA".Now that you have read this message, her dead body will appear in your bedroom every night you go to bed.Unless you do this:
Retype this message on 3 other videos sorry im superstitious like fuck and wish this would stop
Watching this scene, years ago, I understood that my Ideal girlfriend had to be blue-eyed, bleached blonde and wear white nail varnish...and, obviously, look like Patricia Arquette as much as possible! Does any of you fit the description? :P
The cinematography is flawless. The slow motion and cutting back and forth between Alice and Pete - look at their eyes. My favorite clip is where Alice is seated in the 2nd car with Mr Eddie silhouetted in the background. As you the door is shut you see her eyes pan from Pete to the bodyguard whose reflection in the winsow is shown in slomo as he shuts the door. Excellent!
The beautiful PATRICIA ARQUETTE, the talented and dark David Lynch and OHHHHHHHHHHHHH, LOU?! GREAT COMBINATION. Thank you for cutting and sharing. Delightful.
so geil.
