  • comment comment awesome charity comment

  • the girl saying thank you barry made me smile♥

  • Bringing clean water to remote villages is one of the most charitable actions ever, it brings life, health, and a much better social life (school for children, less labor on the women)....

  • Wow. This brought tears to my eyes... What's most incredible is seeing the impact we can have: this isn't the work of some huge and distant organization, but a labor of love by individual people who care for individual people who need care. This is so personal and so touching... God bless you and all those who made this amazing endeavor possible!

  • This video was amazing. It really puts our lives into perspective. I almost started to cry when one of the little children said that our water was beautiful. To us clean water is the norm but to them...it's life. It's beautiful.

  • SOO Excited for P4A this year!

  • @NoelKilledZombie same!

  • Thank you so much for doing this, and for making this wonderful video... it moved me and brought tears to my eyes. I must do something to help. Thank you thank you thank you.

  • That was beautiful.

It really makes you think about the huge divide between the developed and undeveloped world. Just because we can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

    Keep up the amazing work.

  • this made me cry so so much. it really makes me realize that my parents are right- i am very fortunate to live in the country i live in, and i have a very entitled life.

  • Almost the P4A time of year again!

This video is beautiful and amazing and you are doing great things. Keep up the good work!

  • hey shawn i am a Bangladeshi seating in my NY's comfortable apartment and watching your video.. i felt ashamed of myself ... u brought tears in my eyes.. God bless you .. i would love to help save the children org. please let me know how..

  • @desertrozes Thanks for the kind words. If you want to help Save the Children - check out their site or their latest campaign. The latest campaign can be found at GoodGoes(dot)org.

  • I like the water pump they made in Cambodia(or kenya, not sure) where the pump is manually powered by kids turning a merry go round playground thing that is attached to the pump and well, and it is very efficient since the kids never stop using it for hours. 2 birds, 1 stone

  • @danr2019 You mean PlayPumps? I've heard mixed news about that. It apparently is quite laborious to operate those round playground-thing - so it's not as much fun as one would think.

  • This is Awesome and you are wonderful!

  • this things just mamzing. thanks to those of you who involved who made this chances.

  • beautifule of what your doing guys .., i will be witnes for you in the day of jugment ,.

milion thanks to you wish greater level in paradise ,.

  • thank u 4m me bro...u did a gr8 job.u r an example 4 other ppl.....n thank u others who helped

  • Well in one hand it is ok to help people, but in another ...

this culture is raised so there should be very big families and short life expectancy...

So there is balance here... if you want to give them western goodies like water filters, medicine.. you have to give them condoms and change culture for small families to keep balance... Or they will die from hungry because there will be to much of them...

In general global warming is because there is to much people in our planet...

  • @vaidotas86 Actually, speaking as a demographer, giving them 'goodies' (I would call them 'basics' or even 'basic human rights') like clean water actually improves life expectancy - and also automatically tends to lower birthrate. People have less kids when more of their kids have a chance of surviving past 5.

  • @UnculturedProject why this don't work in India ?

  • @UnculturedProject I'm not a "bad" person and I agree that everyone deserves good quality of life, but I think this is slow process, which requires sacrifices (including death). There should be education, democracy or similar policy, transportation, energy and ETC. Now children wouldn't die from water, they will die from flu or ETC. There is other organizations which educates people how to make sand filter them self also how to read or write and ETC, they made much much bigger difference...

  • @vaidotas86 If you take a look at my other videos, I've been helping on the educational front as well. Just because I can't provide everything - doesn't mean there isn't value.

And, before you jump to conclusions, let me point out this pond sand filter was made entirely by locals using local resources. And local villagers were trained in how to maintain it. They merely lacked the resources to acquire & build it themselves.

  • @UnculturedProject this is more "POSER" thing: "Look we saved 100people"... but in general they don't. This water can be used then i has been boiled. Because it removes ~97% of bacteria (in those conditions). And there should be maintenance for it also... So if you want to make a difference, you have to try harder...

  • @vaidotas86 If you want to sit on your high horse, in the comfort of your room in front of your computer, that's fine by me. But forgive me, I'll deal with the reality on the ground instead.

The reality on the ground is that this village struggles to find enough material to cook their food - let alone boil their water on a daily basis. Did you know they use dried cow manure as "firewood" because it's hard to afford real wood to burn?

  • @UnculturedProject Please no HATE, no HATE. I actually support your project, I just have different opinion. There were people who tried to help for example Zimbabwe, but we saw how it went... Its really hard to help for developing countries, I personally help for local projects, I donate some of my salary for children better life. Good luck in future!

  • @vaidotas86 Thanks for the kind words and wishes. Definitely no hate - I was merely responding to your comment which suggested that what I've done is 1) not going to help them, 2) is just a "poser thing" (your words), 3) they will die anyways. I disagree on all three points and was taken a bit aback by the comments. But no hate.

  • @UnculturedProject Sorry for "Poser" thing. It was watched by 100 000 people It actually made a difference. :)

  • @vaidotas86 So if YOU want to make a difference, YOU have to do more than criticize the efforts of others. Do something better than this, share the story, and I'll learn from you.

  • The top 10 percent of the people control 85+ percent of the world's wealth. The bottom 50% control less than 1% of the worlds wealth!!! I have heard that the wealth from just one of the 13 families that run the world would be enough to feed, clothe, and house everybody on the planet. It doesn't seem fair does it? Isn't it about time that we changed the system?

  • Wow u guys rock. I wish everyone was as helpfull as you.You guys really made a difference. You should be proud of what you have done to help those in need of clean water. :) Keep up the great and wonderfull work.

  • Thank you UP. You put a smile on my face and kept love in my heart.

  • reality is so sad :(

  • in an sick and truley broken world its nice to see some good projects like yours...thx man for trying to make this world an better place - keep it up dude :)

  • Buskerud KFUK-KFUM in Norway (YMCA-YWCA) are helping Bangladesh so they can have clean water, too. We have donated over 35.000 norwegian kroners, and 75 norwegian kroner is one water filter. It means that we have supported Bangladesh with 466 water filters. :)

  • God bless you dude for doing what you do. That's an awesome video, made my day.

  • May God bless you for all that you are doing. He loves each one of us.

  • Very inspiring video. It made me cry.

  • @xXBlackxRebelXx I am saving your comment for posterity to utter irrational hatred. Bravo. You get a gold star. Or maybe a swastika is more appropriate?

  • @xXBlackxRebelXx I am beyond words for your ignorance and stupidity is mindblowing. All I can say: not cool.

  • i say swastika.

  • @xXBlackxRebelXx lol. Christianity

  • It's unbelievable to me that their are people in this world that do not have simple, essentials. How little it takes from people to make a difference if everyone could contribute! Save the children USA!

  • the reaction of people looking at clean transparent water for the first time is just priceless. I support your project!

The video was really nicely made. I started to cry.

  • It's truly amazing that something so simple can make such a difference

  • this video really did make me cry.

    so touching.

best of luck in the future!

  • You're doing a great job! Thank you.

  • You are a good person doing great work. I am grateful that I can share this experience with you through youtube. I hope you get to attend Davos so that your voice and message will be heard to those at the "top". Good luck Shawn!! (and thank you!)

  • you're a good man. my family is in bangladesh, and they drink pond water.thank you so much.

  • so touching :D what is the song at 3:30?

  • I think it's a great ideal you're pursuing. The need for drinking water is immense in the world. I think you should also focus on teaching them that Smaller Families Are BETTER!!! I think I saw 5 kids per every couple. South Asia needs to fight population growth and educate their people in order to be resilient in the fight against poverty and hunger. Smaller families are easy to manage and allow for more resources to fewer kids (food, housing, college)

  • What you saw in this video was a community together - nothing in this video suggests that there are families with 5 kids per couple. That was not my experience in this village.

But, the best way to lower birth rate is to pull families out of poverty. Pulling a family out of poverty almost always lowers the birthrate. Lowering the birthrate does not always pull a family out of poverty.

  • I agree. Pulling families out of poverty together with promoting the benefits of smaller population is the best way. You have to reinforce and translate to other Indian dialects the "Hum do, hamare ek" slogan (One Family, one child in Hindi).

  • Just warms my heart.

  • UP--- Saving Lives/Making People Healthy And Happy/ Making People Smile. 5/5...

  • This Video made me cry :(

just the smile on their faces from drinking clean water <3

    we're so ungrateful.

  • Okay, I think I'm going to cry.

I voted for you to go to Davos! I was directed by none other than John Green. Now, I've also subscribed to your channel.

  • Thank you for voting! This could be huge. I win no money - just the opportunity to talk to world leaders. You can vote everyday. Please do spread the word - it would mean a lot!

  • That kid who said thank you to Barry was so adorable. I love what you're doing Shawn.
