Does anybody remember the anti-hate animated PSA where the guy gets angrier and angrier until he blows up? Has anybody seen that on Youtube somewhere?

@casestudyification that is one of my earliest tv memories and as a result, one of my most sought-after clips . If you ever find it anywhere please let me know! Until your post I didn't even know it was an anti-hate PSA. My only memory is of the guy getting larger and turning red with anger.

@love2register2 I will let you know if I ever find it! I look for it pretty regularly, and I can't understand why it isn't out there. There were two short verses and I remember the second: "and when you hate / who is the one you hurt / hate hurts you (BOOM!!! he exlodes!!) / hate hurts you!" Pretty creepy. ....Let me know if you find it too!

There was a whole series of these with the Tin Woodsman and the Scarecrow around the late 70s, and I did find them to be very scary interruptions of my afternoon cartoons. I also don't think a child of 7 ought to learn to fear the American Heart Association (or Lung Association for that matter).

Of course the 80s drug PSAs made these seem quaint by comparison...

Why the vent pipe coming out of his tin funnel on top of his head? Is that to help "vent" his frustration over not having a heart?

I found it funny when the trees told him to exercise- all they do is stand in one spot all day (standing timber)

u lost me on this ad compleatly! Iv seen The Wizard Of Oz(1939) like 20x and this PSA might make sense if they didnt have to put animals and trees involved in this.

I watched half of this not knowing if I'd indeed seen it before but having it seem so familiar.... until I yelled out "that's a good start" and sang the rest of it word for word! So weird the mind...

WOW!! I'd forgotten all about this commercial! Thanks for refreshing my memory. Mind you, I thought it odd at the time (as I still do) that the Tin Woodman would be talking about eating... since he doesn't.

Sadly, Waldman died February 4th of this year of congestive heart failure, he was the last surviving Fleischer animator, was 97.

...Wow. I was about to note that it looks like the Tinman was visiting Casper's forest by the look of the trees and animals. I met Myron about ten years ago. Is he still with us?
