my friend said he saw this movie with his boyfriend and the theater was filled with frat guys; he said it felt like a bashing without the punches.

i just saw the movie and it was hilarious, but i have to say my favorite scene was also the last scene in the cage. i know it was supposed to be funny, but it was more painful for me in that i could feel the intense hatred and judgment in my very core. it was palpable. but that end seen was really beautiful for me in some tragic way.

I was surprised that the straight guys in our audience really took to it. They really enjoyed the blow job scene quite a bit. What I like about the movie is when you strip away the insanity; it's really a commentary about how society views homosexuality. As for SBC- I think it takes real talent to stay in character in those situations (staged or not) for as long as he does. I didn't care for "Borat".

I did read in OUT that the writer did intend for the movie to be interpreted that way where it was meant to be a mirror on homophobic America. Nice movie, I plan on buying the DVD also, you know there has got to be a ton of good stuff that got cut.

i like to think that with both bruno and borat, sacha usues his characters to show the truth about americans (and the rest of the world for that matter) he catches people in real moments, if they knew it was just a character then they would play up their answers and lie. i like to take the movies as a deeper meaning, but god they are funny as all hell too lol
