Annette. Such wonderful memories. What a great tune! Thanks so much for sparking my childhood (Mickey Mouse Club) and teenage (Annette songs and movies) memories. Annette, every kid's idol. Such a class act.
For anyone interested... There is a Box Set of Annette's Music (on CD) that you can purchase, that is excellant! Along with the really nice box and included 46 songs, there is also a really nice booklet too. The set is actually produced by Walt Disney Records. Set is called: Annette - A musical Reunion with America's Girl Next Door. The box shows a number of 60010-2 on it, and an ISBN number of: 1-55723-493-0 in case you wish to look it up or order at some record shop
As much as I like Annette, this is not one of her better, more distinctive song covers. The Eydie Gorme 1962 original of this song -- which you can hear on Youtube, look it up -- has much more personality and much better instrumentals in it. Frankly, if you want to hear Annette in a killer cover, listen to her version of "Surfn'" by the Beach Boys. I frankly like her take on that number better than the original!
Eydie is a talented singer and did a wonderful job with this song (I do have her music) but I don't remember much else without Steve. Two distinct but different singing styles, Eydie sang with more of a latin flare, she also had a stronger more masculine voice then Annette's softer style. I love both versions, different times & moods.
I tend to post less heard songs, not to compete with each other so . . . .
Thanks for posting this video you did a wonderful job on it. I've always Loved her voice and like many males Loved her, a very classy Lady and good person.
it's funny Patty Duke didn't think she could sing either and yet she released six albums and we her fans totally disagree -- Patty Duke was also straight as an arrow I grew up watching both Patty Duke and Annette and loved them dearly!
First time hearing this..she sounds a lot like Joanie Sommers..In the 1960's, Annette showed that you can be wholesome. talented - wish they were more like her today...
The interesting thing about Annette is she was so out of the mold for how young girl stars looked at the time, for example, Sandra Dee. Annette was very ethnic looking, very dark, with interesting features. It all added up to a truly beautiful young lady, just not typical. She also was an unusual actress and singer. She never tried to sell; she just let it happen naturally. In real life, totally down to earth, loved her family, worked at her dad's service station Saturday mornings. A doll!
She does in fact have MS...as far as I know, she's doing well. If you watch her bio-movie 'A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes' it makes it clear that she was ill for quite sometime before she was diagnosed
ANNETTE FUNICELLO.....The all AMERICAN fantasy.every guy wanted her, every girl wanted to be her.Love you Annette you always was and always will be my first real crush!!!!!!
She was and shall ever remain a beauty, despite the disease. She only has to look at you with those angelic eyes! The prettiest brunette to ever become a Disney star and a bathing beauty!
thankyou for your information you must really love this girl have you ever met her is there anyone you would like to meet in this life time i would love to meet jesus to ask about the bible interesting
Long live the 50's, forever embedded in my mind as I was one of the fortunate teenagers, at that time, to live it, and, Annette was one of several who made the era memorable, thanks Annette and God Bless!!! Bobby
Annette has been suffering from MS, Multiple Sclerosis, a disease of the central nervous system since the late 80's. In 1993 she started the "Annette Funicello Fund For Neurological Disorders".
I don't think I would have watched the MMC if not for Annette--I was always waiting for her to show up--like for introducing the "mouse cartoon." When I saw her for the first time in another venue, namely on Band Stand singing "Tall Paul," I was as tickled as when I saw Elvis on tv for the first time.
I think Annette was the first girl I had a crush on (Puppy Love) I was probably 9 or 10 when I first saw her as a Mouseketeer on Walt Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club. Later it was in the Frankie Avalon movies
Man was I jealous of him with my girl!! Great collage of a memorable gal.
our family always loved annette funicello; her natural sweetness came thru in everything she did. this may sound corny, but as a little italian-american girl i looked up to her a lot and pretended she was my big sis when she was on the mickey mouse show! lol we'll always love you, annette!
I love this song <3

Please avoid anymore comments about what you believe her health is except that she has MS.
3rd party health statements are not always factual, nor are they welcome.

She reminds me of Mila Kunis or Vanessa Hudgens.
She's adorable.
